Shine looks identical to his Grandpa Roberts, he just has Rissa's skin tone and hair but his facial features are Quan's. I've said that since he was first shown to the world, that baby is his Dad's son and Grandpa Roberts Grandson for sure. He is one adorable HAPPY baby.

It definitely takes a village to raise a baby and each and every person will teach him something that will help mold him! If you start from the beginning keeping things clean, having them clean up their toys, and to be respectful they carry it through! Your both doing amazing as parents please don’t let anyones assumptions bother you because if your a true Rissa and Quan fan you’ll know they are doing amazing my son is 13 and I’ve never spanked him and he’s still the best kid (every teacher and other parents tell me) I just give him the look and he knows it … I think shine is quans twin for real

I really commend you all for taking the time and patience to go through those assumptions because some of them were like WHOAH!! 🤔😐But I want you to know that being a Social Worker, and having taught parenting classes, you both are doing an EXCELLENT job. Quan gets many compliments for being a good dad because it is rare to see men in such active roles in their children's lives. But I also love the balance you all have between the two of you to not only meet the needs of Shine but also take care of your other responsibilities. That is truly how parenting should be. And the fact that Quan is committed and dedicated to making sure he is active in his son's life is a bonus. BOTH of you are excellent parents. Keep doing what you're doing. Other parents can definitely learn from you.
Rissa’s gonna be way more chill about Shine exploring and learning his environment primarily because of the fact she has a few younger siblings that she grew up with and quite possibly took care of, so she knows it’s all apart of the game, she been around the baby block way more than Quan
As a special needs mom. Both my boys are nonverbal at 7 and 4. The only time I have been away from them is when I had emergency surgery. I have the worst trust issues I feel like they will never be hurt or mistreated. Plus I have that time to miss them when they are sleeping lol. Yall are doing absolutely amazing as first time parents. Shine will be the most clean well mannered child ever!!! O and super handsome. ♥
I love how proud Quan is to be a father, it’s great to have someone with influence demonstrate what being a good father means and raising awareness to burnout mothers often feel because of fathers not taking as active of a role. I love Quan & Rissa, role models as partners and parents ❤

The only thing I will say is never disagree about parenting techniques in front of your child. Kids eventually learn how to play parents against each other. In front of the kids you're a united front. Check each other's parenting in private. ❤️

Yes quan being that active as a dad is very very rare. & people say yall childish like its a bad thing. I have always been a serious person even at a young age. As i got older through therapy im learning to bring out that inner child. I had to step up & grew up too fast!! Learning how to let loose & be silly has been so rewarded to me! Never let go of that inner child!! Being serious all the time robs joy
Shine is still too young to sleep on his own besides, this is a new big house, he is going to have to get comfortable with the space. Please do whatever works best for you guys as per ur kids. At the end of the day, it's not how far but how well that matters. Love u both. Keep being the great parents that you both are. Trust me when I say that a lot of newbies are learning from you guys.
loved the video 😍 my son is always clean too, i think it’s just a individual thing, i definitely agree that it is a reflection of the parents because i have always cleaned my son immediately if he gets dirty or eating anything like that; and now he’s a toddler and is the same way, he cleans up his toys/ cleans his hands and face/ asks to wash his hands etc. its really adorable honestly. i know y’all will be amazed by how fast shine learns and starts doing things. its like one day they’re small an cant do anything for themselves then the next they’re so independent and running around everywhere 😭 my son still sleeps with us and he will be 2 in december, i never felt okay with putting him in a cold bassinet alone. i think its very natural for us mother’s especially to want to have our baby in our arms. i don’t understand how people just sleep without their baby right out of the hospital, but i just trusted my intuition. the main scarcity of “cosleeping” is suffocating or being rolled over on.. these things can be mitigated with not having heavy bedding- just a fitted sheet & individual blankets for mom an dad & baby in the middle with space to move. i always have woken up when my son moves the slightest or anything like that. so i just don’t agree with everyone pushing that cosleeping is so bad when SIDS happens a majority of times in a crib while they’re alone. i just don’t think people should tell mothers what to do with their children because these things come natural to us. 🤷🏽♀️ but i will say, its really hard to break them sleeping with you the longer they’re in your bed 🤣 i just try to remember he wont be this little long, goes by so fast. y’all are great parents, shine is a very happy baby and so adorable. ❣️ love + blessings riss quan & baby shine ✨
