+JosueAllstarMusic He's not, and its not close. When looking at seasons in which they played over 1000 innings, hech in 2013-15 has a -9, -8.8 and 15.8 UZR and -10, -8.4 and 17.7 UZR/150. A 0 is average. He also put up a -3, -3 and 9 DRS. 0 is again average. So for 2 of those seasons he was well WORSE than average defensively. Compare that to Simmons, who in the same time span put up a 24.6, 15.5, and 17.3 UZR, put up a 23.9, 18.4, and 17.5 UZR/150 and put up 41,, 28 and 25 DRS and we see that not only is simmons FAR superior to hech, hech at his BEST is still significantly inferior to Simmons at his WORST. glad I could help!
+jostopholees I dont want to start a youtube brawl but whatever those stats were they dont mean shit. stats dont determine how good a baseball player is. How he plays the game does. Derek Jeter was a below average short stop early in his career but he played the game hard and wanted to win.

In the pros, they do look at the metrics and they are a definitive way to rank players..much better than just raw stats. Your own argument states derek jeter would be a better player than babe ruth because "he played harder" Again, learn the sport and try harder.
