Isn't coverage an interaction of similarity,variability AND type frequency? She mentions this several times in the book but you definition at 12:11 seems to indicate it's just similarity. Is there something I'm missing? Also, how is coverage measured? Is it a number?

I have just finished reading this book and I must say that it is not confusing at all (as Martin Hilpert and others say). Having written some articles on the triadicity of constructions since 2018, it is clear to me that the idea of construction as a composite of form, function and social context (which I have termed agency: brill.com/view/journals/cose/4/1/article-p1_1.xml?language=en) is an inevitable turn for construction grammar. Moreover, the Bayesian model of mind is of utmost importance for the comprehension of how prior-posterior signal information is gauged to create representations through language. In my opinion, Goldberg is on the right track, as she has finally understood that the conceptual tools of cognitive linguistics are not enough to deal with linguistic phenomena. I must say, however, that I would have liked a more in-depth discussion about what a triadic construction really is. Given the influence of the author, many an old-school constructionist should be nerveous at this moment.
