This seems to be common with regional Arab channels. I've seen plenty of recordings of Arab dubs of anime and cartoons being broadcast from tapes that have not been well-kept at all. On one recording of the intro for the old Arabic dub of the '87 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as aired on this very station, Aden TV, there's a bit of bad tape damage at the very start of the intro during the distributor credit. Oh, and I think a picture of a flower might be the traditional Arab TV "technical difficulties" card, as I've heard reports that the Jordanian broadcast of the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest cut to a picture of flowers as well when it was apparent that Israel was going to win the Contest.
yep, I was going to point out that Eurovision tidbit as well - unfortunately that footage seems to have been lost to time, great to finally see a recorded example!
I find it funny that the one character starts getting worried as the screen turns red, and then starts screaming and crying when the video completely dies. Amost as if the show became self aware...
Hey! First of all, I've been binge-watching your archives so thanks for uploading them! Second of all, you might want to put a seizure warning on that video (especially for the part at 2:00). Have a good day!
