This fight was much better than I remembered. Izzy used to say he never liked his own performance and when he said he was proud of his win on Cannonier I knew he was losing soon.
Do you watch the fight against Cannonier looking for a brawl or actual intelligent martial arts? It was a great performance by him, you ppl jus want to see gaethje vs chandler type action and it’s all perspective and how you see it.
@@namwarmaster6918 depends on who’s watching, obviously you’re right I’m not saying you’re wrong but I didn’t find it “boring”. I will call the Romero fight boring tho, it’s just the technical ability I myself as a kickboxer can appreciate
Thats the same with every single covington fight ( exept the usman matchups, those are good cuz they are forced to stand and bang cuz both cant strike technically [at least usman is trying too] and theyr wrestling cancels each out)
I never understood how people thought this fight was boring. Izzy put on a masterclass of a defense. Marvin had nothing for him anywhere. The Cannonier fight I understand but this fight was fun to watch.
Man, I would pay good money to see a series, released post-fight, of fighters pre-fight, sitting in those recliners and highlighting what they're planning to adjust or develop for the upcoming fight, be it from previous fights or fights specific to the same opponent or style. Would be so cool.
Not sure why people hate this performance. Marvin is tough and wouldn't fall when he was getting clipped. Izzy did what he was supposed to do. Definitely won this fight.
The reason Izzy take down defend got better is bkuz the ufc put him against wrestlers expecting him to lose….if they did the the same to Darren till he probably would’ve gotten better or been exposed early on….that’s crazy how the ufc try to push certain ppl to the top faster
I remember watching their first fight and thinking, "Why isn't this highly skilled Kickboxer not stopping this dude he's literally flabbergasted." Then I remember thinking the exact same thing watching their second bout.
Marvin has tard strength. Even with all the skill in the world it's difficult to fight someone that walks forward through everything, especially when you're concerned about takedowns as the distance closes.
it’s crazy how some of these fighters make the others look marvin looked like he didn’t belong anywhere near the ufc against izzy but compared to literally 99.9% of the rest of the world marvin is a fuckin savage and would smash anyone all of these guys are on such a crazy level people don’t even understand lol
I boxed amateur for quite a few years and can tell you certain Fighters like Marvin CANNOT see the difference of his own fight game. Fighters/athletes understand what I mean. If you don’t have that eye, the IQ of your sport, or many things you do in life. Then you will stay stagnant, you will be the exact same person you were a year ago. Marvin is the exact same fighter today as he was 2 years ago. He is tough and his awkward style will give him wins, but he will never be championship caliber. And his belief of him being so much better, well that’s put into his head. I seen it first hand in a gym under certain trainers. They don’t want to lose you and have you move on. A good trainer will be honest with you, tell you your not improving. A great trainer will figure out what makes you better and gets his method to become a natural flow to your abilities. Wash, rinse, dry and repeat, that’s Marvin. He is doing the same exact thing over and over in his gym. That’s why you see the same exact Marvin in the cage. Aydesana and his trainer adjusted to the same Marvin they fought the first time. That’s why the second fight was easy. If Marvin would have changed up his style from the Aydesana he first fought, used things they watch on film that would of worked from the first fight if he did them. Then Aydesana wouldn’t have been prepared for that Marvin. I seen kids in the Gym 2 years later become so good compared to what they were 2 years earlier, and I seen many be the same exact fighters they were 2 years early. I seen many times fighters so pissed because they use to beat or it was really close sparring matches. Now their getting smoked and they can’t understand why. I sparred dudes that gave me big trouble and then they became no work for me. I listened to many say I use to whoop him or me. If you don’t have that sight, that mentality of seeing and incorporating those skills into yourself, your nothing more than a stepping stone, a journey man. And it sucks because these dudes work just as hard in the gym as everyone else
He fought Romero, and he fought Whittaker TWICE, then he went and fought a guy he'd lost to twice. How tf is that a coward and where can I get some of what you're smoking?
the way robert destroyed him and izzy coasted on him. i think Robert is the better fighter, but hes not a full sized middleweight. if he wanted to he could fight at 155.
Literally the only comment ever made about Vettori, "Marvin's got such a good chin. He ate shots that normally would KO anyone else". If your most redeeming quality is being able to "take shots", it means the most notable thing about your fighting performance is taking heavy shots you neglected to dodge/parry/block. In other words, "you're good at getting hit".
Martin thinks he’s good but it’s hilarious 😂 Izzy smashed him first and second time if they ever face again I hope not cuz he’s boring he’ll never beat Izzy Izzy is the goat 🐐
