For those worried about the plates spinning the spindle out of place because there aren’t any pins like the Adex weights have, I use two 1 inch rubber coated plates that I had from one of those spinlock dumbbell sets I have at both ends with the steel weights sandwiched in between and it solves the problem.

@@MarkWildman the weights for the adex are too pricey. Dose the weight distribution feel different if makes sense? Like dose one feel more cylinder shaped like a club? While the plates would feel more like the head of a mace or kettlebell?

It's a good piece of equipmet to consider for the future... I already ownn a full set of double clubs in from 2 to 20 kg in 2kg increments. so buying adjustable clbs os moot for me. I don't have any maces and only one light kettlebell but Adex seem like a good options for the former. Even thought ordering stuff from US to Europe is a discouraging due to prices.
@mikeschertzer941
@mikeschertzer941 Год назад
Q: Has anyone who tried this noticed the plates spinning while doing it? If it works, seems like a better answer than getting the add-on kit from Adex. Also..if the adjustable KB plates work, seems like dumb bell plates with 1" diameters would too. Although the geometries (outer diameter and thickness) are different than in the adjustable. Would require purchasing more than the arc and the BoS bell, but that's another thing people might just have on hand (got to be careful though because some of those diameters get wider than the KB plates).
@Crazytaru1
@Crazytaru1 Год назад
yeah I just tried my yes4all plates which are made for yes4all dumbbells which are 1.15" diameter, not a true 1inch. so slightly larger hole than walmart plates. I was able to swing 10 pounds on my adjustable arc with no slop in the plates, this is really gonna allow me to go heavy with only the base kit

You can probably get some rubber washers to put between the plates. That should keep them from moving independently. And if the rubber washers are tight around the spindle, then they shouldn't move from side to side at all.

Do you experience any knee pain after swinging the super heavy monster club you showed off? Whenever I adapt to heavier club weights I run into sharp medial knee pain on my previously injured/repaired knee. This only happens hours after a training session. After a few weeks this goes away entirely. Is this pretty standard with past knee injuries?

To mitigate the kb adjustable plates moving around too much I took some thin silicone pot holders, cut holes in the middle and add them as layers between each plate. Keeps ‘em snug without adding any significant weight.

@@MarkWildman I'm thinking about getting the hydra and mace handle and the 30 pound Kitt for flow and and hydra for heavy stuff and the adjustable kettlebell coast too much so I hope to just find plates also maybe an arc because I'm 5'7.7 in shoes so the arc might be necessary
@troymatthews9541
@troymatthews9541 7 месяцев назад
@@MarkWildmanmy list is gonna be hydra, wildman mace handle+wildman kit(for flow and practice) over 100pounds worth of plates and in the next month I will get the wildman arc to kind of be like my new clubs . I will treat the arc like a mace that I don't have to choke up on soo much I'm only 5'7 tall and prefer to be barefoot. 27 inches tends to be my limit when doing swings between my legs like a kettlebell with a club and this will also be my first mace. I started with kettlebells and hitting my knees wasn't really an issue. If I was tired with heavy weight I'd touch but not slam then .so long as the mace don't hit the ground I'm happy. I might have to. Chocke up on it more then 13 inches but so long as I can do a pull over and a rotating pullover and mill I'm happy with that

So you’re saying there is a limit to how heavy you should swing a longer mace? I am working towards a 360 with Great Lakes 60 pound mace right now. The sell up to 110 pounds. I’d be so interested in if anyone can actually do that.

Yea definitely a lot to consider when swinging heavy mace
@duchaneaux
@duchaneaux 3 месяца назад
@@jackedwin9538he’s saying you could possibly slam the weight into the side of your knee. Just practice a lot with lighter weights and slowly move up. Get your technique down. Film yourself to see where the trajectory of the swing goes and how far the clearance is from your knees. You shouldn’t be discouraged from using heavier weights with maces, just make sure you’re doing it right. I clipped just below my knee one time doing one handed gada swings and that was because my technique was sloppy. Luckily I didn’t do any damage. When you watch Indian wrestlers train with their gada, the diameter of their cemented weights is wider than say a 10 lb plate, and much wider than the plates from the adjustable kettlebell in the video. They have really good technique, but in the videos I’ve watched of them training, the edge of the cement gets pretty close to their knees. So just be careful and practice your technique.

@MorganBye
@MorganBye Год назад
As a owner of both you have plus a mace, I think it’s a question of technique and angles. With the short club, it swings close to my back (shoulder blades). You need the extra handle length so that the few degrees off vertical gives you enough space for the kettlebell weight plate.
@Paul-lm1kg
@Paul-lm1kg 5 месяцев назад
@@MorganBye Agree. I've the kettlebell + the adex club. The kb plates on the club on their own were hitting my shoulder blades. I got around the length issue by putting 2x5lb adex weights on the adex thread above the extra kettlbell plates. This made the stack starting at the bottom: adex base (with the thread coming up out of it), kettlebell plates, 2x adex 5lb weights, adex club handle. The extra length provided by the 5lb adex weights puts the kettlebell plates @ the level of the small of my back. The problem i'm still trying to solve is to stop the kettlebell plates rattling around and damaging the adex thread...... Best. Paul
