Can we reflect on some basic fiQh? Why is a sister 1. Being featured calling the adhaan 2. Being placed in the top 5? There’s a lot of problems with this

Scholars have permitted women to give the adhan to other women. The great Shafi scholar Imam Bayhaqi stated: “If women call the adhan or the iqaamah (for women), then there is nothing wrong with that, and if they do not, then this is also permissible, because ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, used to call the adhan and the iqaamah and lead women in prayer while she stood in the middle of them.’” [Al-Bayhaqi]. Although women do not traditionally call the adhan, the technical aspects of vocal quality, breath and proper pronunciation can translate to other noble practices (Qur’an recitation, tajweed, etc). All of DeenTV contests are open to both men and women.

@DEENTV Respectfully, the operative phrase is women's adhan among women. It's nice to be considerate of us, sisters, but it opens the door for confusion in already confusing times. May Allah swt guide us all. Ameen
