What’s ruining it is the trickle feeding shoe manufacturers are now employing! Reading the comments of people “wanting” this shoe it proves that the tactic works!
For the thinner laces, my old Adios 6 had something similar. The thin laces are not very stretchable, but helps to tie a very secure knot that will never unravel on a run (not unlike Vaporfly2's serrated laces). I do recall reviews on the Adios 6, throwing shade at the laces just because it's thin and seems to compromise on durability, but in my experience, the laces are near bombproof.
I love the Lightstrike Pro in the Adios Pro 3 and the Takumi Sen 9 and I'm really happy that this came out. Now I don't have to worry about wearing out my Pro 3s as this will be its training companion. As of this writing I have just ran 13km using it and I'm loving the Evo SL so far. I highly recommend it only for runners who love the Adios Pro 3 and the Takumi Sen 9/10.
Every time I run in my Adios Pro 3, I wished Adidas would release a similar shoe without the energy rods. Now that they have finally done that, the shoe becomes less stable because of less structure…. My knees cannot take unstable shoes anymore. So no, I guess I have to forget about this shoe.
When they said it was capable of being a "lifestyle shoe".. my hopes went up since i think they will make A BUNCH of this and wont be out of stock!! A win for customers definitely!
What is ruining it is the release date (not until March 2025) Novablast 5 is dropping before this (Dec 2024) and I feel its going to take a fair portion of the daily trainer market with it
Adidas, though my preferred brand and maker of the best fitting shoes for my (unusual, today..) feet, has a great hype-driven marketing strategy, but as a matter of fact, discourages even the most loyal customers as myself to continue buying their excellent products. You can't tease with ads, requests to subscribe to newsletter (install lousy apps, and so on...) and then, after telling you that you got some privileges and priorities joining th club, deceive you with the same "product sold out" page even before hitting the (online) store. History repeats, and this time I'm really p1ss3d off. Shame on you Adidas !
Tried it in store - felt very good on the treadmill, haven't bought pair because they haven't have 1/2 sizes- will wait when more colours get in 2025 People need to relax a bit - why so much hate about adidas doing its marketing and limited release.... Just relax and get it when it will be widely released - who said you need to have it first in your neighbourhood 😅 - and if you really do then pay from stockX .... Mind also in 2025 might be 10 other shoes you want and possibly better than sl evo - so who knows if adidas marketing strategy will work or not lol
Love or hate, limited releases create what brands are looking for: noise and engagement ! And it’s marketing that works because people talk about it. I would love to see more people getting the shoes they want and less speculation on resell platforms but it is what it is. And yes 2025 will bring a ton of other shoes that might be close if not better than the Evo SL 😉
@@AlexFilitti one thing is for sure - its good looking running shoe that could be wear casually - at the same time being decent at running - how many examples do we have of running being used as casual cross over (mind that not many running foams are not to soft for walking, and not many running shoes looks like more than running....) ??? I could think of this one and tracksmith eliot runner - which both are good at running, not to soft or wierd for walking and good looking with jeans - just my opinion
Was unsuccessful in the raffle and honestly find this exclusivity thing a bit annoying. I mean, it's just a Training Shoe. Seems a bit intentionally overhyped.
i use invicnbles for easy days after workouts and alphafly/vaorfly for workouts but i need a shoe for daily runs and im considering this or zommfly 6 but dont know wich one
Quick question. Is it more stable than the SL2? Hoping it would. Love the SL 2, but it is narrow midsole wise (got the wide version but seems they only change the upper width) that i always overpronate the lightstrike 2.0 doesn't help either because it is too soft paired with a narrow heel midsole, boom overpronate.😢
The Boston 12 is stiffer and more of an allrounder that does everything good without shining anywhere. This one is also similar but in a softer and more "easy going" package.
if i knew they were going to make us wait until march i would have bought them last week. i feel like these will be mass produce so i'' wait for the sale
@@imuhammadnow1828 it works. Adidas has hyped up this shoe for a reason being very limited to a point you can’t get a pair. It’s a matter of waiting game now. This shoe will be very easy to get once the release is generalized.
@@AlexFilitti wow you actually answer with real sentences lol thats refreshing thank you. i have a quick question. i just saw the novablast 3 on sale, did you enjoy the foam on those? im a heavier runner but everything i have now is max stack. primex, superblast, infinity3 blah blah i love them but i need a fun daily option. any input would be appreciated
Which shoe will be better: adidas Evo SL or ASICS Novablast 5? From your review looks like it should be compared to Novablast 5, which is supposed to be a bit softer than the NB4 but with good bounce. Cheers!
@ disappointing to hear that, evo sl is seem to be more hype than substance... maybe I would opt for novablast 5, softer than novablast 4 with more bounce
The shoes are probably already produced or about to be so the one I have isn’t a late stage prototype but a final go to market version. So my answer (but not confirmed by adidas) is no they won’t fix it before March.
@AlexFilitti slower than sl2? That is quite disappointing then. Sl2 is a great session shoe; it just makes you work for it, but i like it that way. Guess I will wait for Adios 9 then.
Does it support runners with HIGH ARCH foot? and it has the same sizing as the Boston 12 as true to size? any feedback as well when you run this on uphill or perform uphill sprint
The Mach X2 really suffer from it's heel collar that ruins an almost perfect upper. But the Evo SL didn't show the best possible grip in my testing. Both are versatile but Mach X2 has the upper hand in my opinion.
It’s a good looking shoe. I had my name down for a pair but no luck this time! I might get another pair of Takumi Sen instead if I can find them on decent discount.
The SB2 is stiffer (less flexible so less demanding), "easier" to run in, and overall remains the better option for people after the perfect allrounder.
I didn’t win. Was bummed about it but still was going to get the shoes when they released. Now that you say it won’t release till march next year. Trash. Don’t care anymore.
I am not going to pretend that I am not a fan of the new “Hype” release marketing strategy of releasing a small batch of a product only to inflate desire for the product due to run reviewers, influencers, etc. Saucony has done it and Adidas and I have since stopped using their shoes for various reasons of course but this was part of why I chose to stop investing in them.
Agree 200% !! Not only Adidas teases customers inviting to subscribe to newsletters, apps and various kinds of alerts, but NEVER discounts a single cent, always sells out before public release date and, in my personal case, sometimes cancels a confirmed order on limited availability shoes (Adios Pro). Better trust a big online retailer than Adidas' own website; you may even end up with a couple of bucks discount and free shipping.
I don't understand this admiration for an extremely soft foam under the heel. It's absolutely unstable and if you run while landing on it, I don't give much for your tendons and knees...
