I’ve owned three pairs of Adidas Superstars during the last 16 years, I used to have a crazy obsession with these sneakers & actually tried to outgrow them but on my recent search for all-white sneakers the best option there was available were Superstars which I ended up buying & wow I’m still amazed at how timeless & special these sneakers til today!
The Superstars are hands down the most comfy and durable shoes I've been wearing since 7th grate and will continue to do so. They can be worn with jeans, normal pants, skirts or shorts. Love them❤️
I remember being the only person to rock puma suedes at my high school and people saying they were wack then 2 years later everybody started wearing them
Do you know Puma is actually Adidas brother? Yes Rudy Dassler is Audi Dassler's older brother who broke off from him to make Puma. Note how Adidas is Audi's name combined. Facts are educating are they not?
Great stuff! Surprised this didn't include the band Korn in the '90s. The whole band wore Adidas, and even had a song with the same name. Definitely caused Superstars to surge in popularity again.
I'm shocked that they didn't mention the iconic song Run DMC. Had called. My Adidas , smh. I mean you talking about the shoes and the group but you don't mention that. Goofy
This channel got me into shoe collecting, I never once thought about the origin or cultural impact of shoes but you guys really make it so engrossing! I just copped some of my first Pumas and now I’m eyeing these Superstars and some Stan Smiths 👏🏾
Think about the fact players didn't want to don leather because canvas was the main sneaker! We have the same issue now with recycled materials being used in sneakers. Also love how Kareem Abdul-Jabar was the first sports influencer for the sneaker. Great video. Subscribed to your channel!
Been wearing them since the 70's. Recently bought a new pair of Superstar '82, styling and profiling of the 80's. So comfortable and durable. Mind blowing craftsmanship and materials. Make sure you get genuine leather.
I'm falling in love with this channel as it has a lot of content I'm researching anyway, so it allows me to go in directions I might not have considered. Well done guys. Keep up the great work.
Hey David, That means a lot man. Appreciate you taking the time to consume the videos. Feel free to hit me up anytime about your research! haha Tweet me or DM me. Cheers!
Was a late starter with superstars. I now have 2 pairs I use to go work in and get battered up. Some originals in tweed. A couple pairs of limited edition. A paid or all blacks I got for a funeral. Absolutely love them and all the designs. Knowing the history of them and that the design has pretty much stayed the same for over 50 years just makes me like them even more
Your videos are so amazing, it’s been 4 hours and I just realized I am watching all of your videos , the music, the editing, the simple and straight forward videos going straight to the point is just so amazing, keep it up
Damn man. So flattered here. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to watch our videos. It really means the world! Hope you'll have an amazing rest of your day or night wherever you are in the world. Much love
That was great video I love the superstar I'm 50 years old and back to my school days the superstar was the coolest one brings me back many memories and always is my favorite one even to this day
schngstbr haha For sure. I mean it’s one of the earliest silhouettes to reach that kind of status. There are many other iconic sneaker out there but the Adidas Superstar was the first one. In my opinion...thanks for watching G!
Adidas superstar trainers are real legendary trainers - I do think of run dmc when I see them - a compliment to Adidas. I've had a few pairs and rate them. 👌🍻
Back in the 1980's the Superstar here in the U.K was the ultimate sneaker. Hard to get and people only connected to the Hip-Hop scene knew. Nowadays my gran could be rocking a pair! They are still an absolute classic sneaker but so popular with anyone and everyone it almost puts you off. Still, having at least 1 pair in your collection is totally acceptable. :)
There are only two other shoes that Adidas has made that are equally iconic in my view as the Superstar and those are the Sambas and the Copa Mundial. The Samba was the first indoor soccer shoe although it was designed to handle the frozen pitches during the winter across most of Europe. It later became the go to shoe for street and indoor soccer players as well as the sneakerhead due to its simple design and clean look. As for the Copa Mundial, when it debuted in 1982, it was the first soccer cleat to be made from kangaroo leather instead of the traditional cow leather. This made the cleat more durable and breathable and made kangaroo leather the go to material in soccer cleat manufacturing for about 20 years until synthetics took over in the early 2000's. To this day it is still the number one selling soccer cleat of all time globally, outselling every other line Adidas or any other manufacturer has.
BOYS love the channel love the video's n that you reply all the time can't wait for the tailwind's video "jailwinds" 😂 Can you do a video on the Nike tn 3 please
I am a big Superstar fan but didn't know the history till your video. Love that you did this. - you have another subscriber and I have watched some of your other videos also. Love it. The Superstar is a classic shoe. I don't know why but the shape and the staying lend themselves to such collaborations and design features. For the first time, after having various superstars for over 20 years I just today got my first pair of triple white's. WOW. I cannot believe how they look. I think an addiction is starting. 🙃 Thanks for the vid and I look forward to more. Any chance on a vid of the history of the Adidas Gazelle? .....
