Sentiments, sanctity and sensitivity are intrinsic to our epics and scriptures and when they are mishandled and distorted , it causes a hurt as rightly pointed out. I am surprised that pre production Team overlooked such vital components of an eagerly awaited film. irrespective of box office outcome , the damage is already done in a form of deep hurt caused ( may not be expressed by all) by frivolous, insensitive and displeasing film making of our great, eternal and revered Epic of respect.

Yesterday I watched the movie. It was very difficult for me and my family members to see the end. Generally when we watch Ramayan a very soft feeling comes and that gives us satisfaction . We are from Odisha the state in where Lord Jagannath is there. It is a popular tale that Bibhisan comes to Jagannath before every Car Festival. Now I imagine how terrific Bibhisan is there in the movie. It is just a mental trauma after watching Adipurush.
I still remember watching it in cartoon network...and the climax scene....the death of ravan was so beautiful that you actually feel pity for him ....that being an anime created a lot of emotions and justified both ram and ravan...!!
If Rajamouli direct this, Lord Ram will be screaming his lungs out and jumping from Bharat to Lanka . Please, no over the top masala directors for this kind of movie. We need someone who can make movies with dignity and very good in performance oriented films.

Today my respect for Ramanand Sagar increased indefinitely. I'm a millennial and I'm not even from that generation when that Ramayana was made but when I saw that on RU-vid, I could clearly see the vision, the conviction, the incredible level of acting that it had. Hanumanji's role was played by the legend Dara Singh. Nobody can replicate that. As expected from single expression Prabhas, he can't fkg do anything. Idk why directors and producers are taking him again and again for big budget projects. Shame on Om Raut and T-Series and especially Manoj Muntashir

In 1987 when Ramayan serial came there was an unofficial curfew on streets during that time. At that time I was a kid. Only once I had to go out in emergency and travel few kilometres on road during Ramayan serial. Not a single vehicle on the road except my cycle. Even the shopkeepers called me a fool to move on Streets during that time. This is the way of winning hearts of people irrespective of technology and budget.
Hindi industries have good directors not doubt but choosing wrong subject and director as well as a vision of creative freedom destroy adipursh. But prabhas is now in good hands like prashant ,vanga etc

Director role is very important while making a movie he have to give proper direction and explanation to actors who will be performing and whatever is a mistake he/she should resolve them , but om raut didn't resolve it he released it as it is ,

Only Telugu filmmakers have been consistently making good devotional movies with conviction, devotion, detailed research and sincerity. NT Rama Rao used to refrain from eating meat or drinking while shooting for mythological movies. Prabhas is the complete opposite in that regard. We don't see any sincerity for the project.

Post the era of legendary Ramanand Sagar, if there was anyone who did justice to Lord Ram, in depicting our epic, it was Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan & Koichi Sasaki who directed the anime The Legend of Prince Rama back in 1992; regrettably, Yugo Sako passed away in 2012 & did not get the much-required acknowledgement which he deserved from our country. However, the journey for making this movie was not without controversies, Vishva Hindu Parishad had challenged citing that no person from foreign origin could subjectively cinematize Ramayana, for it being of great national heritage of India; this confusion was resolved when Yugo Sako convinced VHP that the anime would bring our glorious epic to a much wider international audience. Really want to see the stand of VHP after the repulsive interpretation of our epic by Adipurush. We are definitely living in the era of Kali Yug. Yugo Sako’s anime is a must watch title & for those who are collector like me, there will be a 4K release for this interpretation. This is the way I’ve envisioned Lord Rama & Hanumanji.
After watching visuals coming out of #Adipurush , My respect for Ramananda sagae has gone up 100x,26 years ago, without any technology and limited resources, he created magic, absolute magic which even after so many years remains unmatched.

I used to consult the views of Taran Adarsh when I wished to follow performance of bollywood movies at the box-office. I never saw or listened to him. I am filled with awe after viewing this interview. I am a bollywood buff . And also a voters of Lord Ram. I read and chant the Holy text often. I must say the trailer had already filled me with disgust and I had already decided to shun the movie. The barrage of criticism that the film is receiving is epic. I fully endorse the views of Taran. And feel the same anguish.
No present Indian director is capable of directing such a beautiful epic like Ramayana. If a good Hollywood director works with sincere Indian actors and writers then something can happen. We as an audience need to raise our voice and demand an excellent film, or else none at all.

I haven't seen the movie nor I am going to see it...i had already decided it when I saw its first teaser.. But, i am continuously listening to the reviews since yesterday and feeling proud of my decision.. Ramayan is a golden history of ours, it's an emotion...how can someone change the look of its characters and that too in such a hilarious way...?? We are supposed to make our children aware of our history in the way it really was... And I am still not able to believe the dialogues given to lord Hanumana and others... Really feeling heartbroken...and disappointed 😞
They shoot Ramayana as it is.. Ram character was clearly established.. Ravan was established in a different way.. his way of living.. but whoever the opposite - Ram is always same.. they really worked hard.. if you like it or not - watch it once.. don't tell comment anything.. put the film as it is.. me saw two times in 3D and enjoyed.. jadayu, Hanuman, Jambavan Vali sukreeve on screen.. Raman has to do everything within his principles but Ravan need not.. it is my opinion.. your wish.
One thing to note that they finished the whole production of the movie in 1-2 years. If fictional creations like Avatar and Baahubali take years to make, then a story like Ramayan desereves 10x more dedication. Not saying that it should take 10 years or so to make a proper movie, I'm talking about dedication. A story like Ramayana can't be filmed only in 1-2 years. This time frame is impossible. It is a tapasya to make such a movie. More than vfx, more than huge set pieces, the most important is the morals we get from Ramayana. Hence the characterisation is of paramount importance. Creativity is only secondary, and should be used only to enhance story telling, and not change it entirely.
Even if it takes 10 years so be it but atleast maintain the authenticity. Take valmiki ramayan as source of truth. 700cr yar, what to say? We damnit slog ourselves to do small projects with utmost accuracy and here we get this.

I think along with the director,writter...the actors are equally responsible...why didn't they raise any issues when they were going through the script or even when they said those dialogues...it will be so stupid to say none of the cast who worked on this film didn't know ramayan....It clearly shows how easily actors are ready to work for money...rather than taking responsibility to do something right for their audience or themselves

Jab RAMAYAN ka episode khatam hota tha to log naryal aur phul TV ke pass rakh jate they. Bada adbhut tha o mahol.
