Thanks for your clear explanations. Language tutor spanish - 0:55 generally - adjectives come after the noun usually - 2:50 Goes in front of the noun: possessive adjectives ex: mi, nuestra (our), este (this) 4:10 adjectives that define quantities - numbers go in front of the nouns ex: more (mas), less (menos), 4:30 few (pocas (os))enough (suficiente) 4:40 goes in front of the noun. 5:05 too much (demasiado) 5:28 some (alguno) 5:35 no or none (ninguno) 5:45 enough (bastante) 5:50 enough or sufficient (varios) 5:56 as much (cuanto) 6:02 a lot (mucho) 6:30 best(mejor) or worst (peor) 7:03 to emphasize a characteristic ex: sweet (dulce) 7:50 brave - (valiente) 8:18 good (bueno) or bad (malo) 9:00 can go in front or back but may change meaning. I have typed "|" . so before would be (adjective)\ and after would be \ (adjective) 9:37 unfortunate (in front of the noun) pobre behind the noun - pobre is poor (as in money) 10:08 former (viejo) before old age if after noun (viejo) 10:25- another (in front) nuevo new made (in back of noun) - nuevo 10:45 several (in front of ) varios \ \varios - different 11:05 (mismo) same\ himself/herself - \mismo 11:23 unico - only\ \unique- unico 11:50 great - gran\ big\ grande 12:15 dreadful - triste\ \triste - sad 12:38 old, ancient, former (antiguo)\ \(antiguo) antique 12:57 various (distinto)\ \different 13:16 only, the one (solo)\ \ (solo) lonely' 13:27 various (diferente)\ \(diferente (different) 13:42 mere (simple)\ \ (simple) simple , modest 13:58 any (calquier)\ \(calquier) any - it doesn't matter 14:20 rare (rario)\ \ strange 14:30 top, or high quality (alto)\ \tall (alto) 14:50 (cierto) certain\ \ true or of course (cierto) 15:10 nothing but (puro)\ \ fewer (puro) 15:28 low quality (bajo)\ \short (bajo)

Hello teacher and students! I’d like to add that at 13:21, about “solo”, when it goes after the noun (meaning alone/lonely) it doesn’t go with the accent mark “tilde”. (And as of now, the Real Academy of Spanish language RAE has accepted both usages without tilde, but it’s useful to know that sólo=just, only / solo=alone, lonely) This is useful just for the correct spelling, because while speaking there’s no difference in the stress of the syllable. Love your videos! I’m a native Spanish speaker but I like to watch these well made videos to learn what students are interested in! Great job.

I have tried them all . All the big names in Spanish language. Spanish with Paul. He doesnt apply grammar rules and that frees my memory from being bogged down with gobbly gook Spanish with Pablo I have told him many times " give me the translation literally not the loose meaning . He wont listen. And his videos are too long making the time bar too inaccurate to listen to repeat phrase Kendal language school . Same problem time slide inaccuracy and loose translation The native spanish speakers youtube schoo, l saddle their presentation with too much joking and personality. I have settled on this channel to much grammar terms that I will never learn but the tic take toe diagram is good , short videos where I can slide the time bar backwards . No joking or trying to beguile me with the teachers personality

I really missed the sentence examples of the various words. Maybe there needed to have been “Video 1, Video 2 etc. with this set of words. However, that being said, I’ve been enjoying your videos very much!!! Thank you for going to the trouble of making them! I studied Spanish all through college. It’s been fun to watch your videos as a sort of refresher course. ¡Hasta luego! (RU-vid changed my keyboard around so that I can type in either English or Spanish. But I don’t remember it well enough to write any of this in Spanish. It’s been a Very long time since college!)

From an English speaker's point of view I think it is very important to learn how adjectives and nouns in English work differently to Spanish, mainly that almost any word in English can become an adjective "the shoe shop" where this is not the case in Spanish and the two nouns joined by a prep. is the equivalent for so many of these forms, "the shop of shoes", "La tienda de zapatos"…took me a lot of time at first figuring this simple thing out
@TheLanguageTutor
@TheLanguageTutor 4 года назад
You're definitely right! It's important to learn how these work. I'm sure it's challenging for someone learning English.

One question I have is can you direct me to what lesson # you teach us when to put the verb before the noun it doesn't seem to be always and I can get a little confused. Sad to admit this but I've learned so long ago and just "know how to speak English" I had to brush up on noun pronoun verbs etc in order to advance my spanish 😅

Esto es muy afortunado. La palabra: mundano" dice "worldy" así como también "vulgar, mudane y trivial". ¿Puedes explicar, por favor?
@afablebenedict3044

You will become worldly and lose the joy of salvation. Te volverás mundano y perderás el gozo de la salvación. Wordly in english means earthly pleasurre and it depends on the context of it and same in Spanish. Mundano means earthly pleasure but there are also different content meaning of it. Try to read more context meaning of it here. Spanish Dictionary. It is free. but mostly it is use here when you hearing priest homely or sermon. but it depends on the context of your sentence.

Dr.Evans, where can I post a query I may have? I have been following you ever since I saw your videos on AIB and I find your lessons very simple and easy to understand. I do not have any Spanish speakers where I live, and what I do, to mimic conversation is try to talk to Siri and Google Home in Spanish. I also use the google translate app, to try and form sentences in Spanish and see if the English translation is what I had in mind, and then reverse the translations to see if the way I was forming my thoughts in Spanish was correct. I tried forming a sentence yesterday and google corrected my sentence in Spanish yesterday and I still can’t figure out the sentence structure. I can understand the correction it made, and it makes sense, but I can’t understand the thought that went behind it. I try not to think in English, and have been pretty successful in my efforts. Do you suppose you could help me get some clarity? Thank you once again for your lessons, they have helped me immensely in speeding up my understanding of how this language works _/\_
