Man Pete is there anything you can't fix on your tractors? Really enjoying all your videos. From animals to tractors to soil and grass you are a wealth of information.
I don't know a thing about motors or rebuilding or restoring or maintenance... But I enjoy just listening to you, Pete. Thanks for making me pretend I am a silent farmer. 😊
What did we ever do without RU-vid before, I just noticed the brake light out on my wife's Outback, and just for grins. I "RU-vidd" it and found many video's on what, where, how why, and the number of the bulbs to change it out step by step. all were good examples of how to do it. such a blessing to look and see before you get into a project too deep and find out you're dong it wrong etc. So I know exactly how and why you appreciate that site Pete. Thanks for the tutorial and for sharing all. ECF.
The A.I.s are gathering of a pool of knowledge for when the ignorant immortal transhumans (made in the image of it's demonic creators) take over this world.
Nice idea, having the tractor key on a metal lanyard. I imagine it's easy to misplace the keys when you have a fleet of tractors! Having lived in rural Cortland, NY (geographically near Pete's farm) I can say many people, for convenience sake, leave their keys in all their vehicles at home.
Like you, I live out in the middle of farm land. People around here would let their vehicles unlocked, letting everything in their vehicles, farm tractors and equipment. A few even let their wallets in their unlocked vehicle. Then things changed about 10 years ago, someone went through the area stealing gas and anything else they thought they could use or sell. After that, we bought locking gas caps and locking their vehicles and farm equipment. My 2-cents, with the price of gas today, I don't believe any of us are safe from having our gas and diesel fuel stolen. Plus, the news has been reporting, people are putting a hole in the fuel tank and stealing the fuel that way. Since our vehicles today, certainly our car's, which have a device in the filler tube, to stop the stealing. Last, we were able to figure out to our belief, the person or persons who were the gas stealer's. A neighbor and myself, we each put gas in an older gas can, adding in enough bleach. A neighbor's son and a few of his friends, overnight began having real engine problems with their ATV's and dirt bikes, after these 2 older gas cans were stolen. Today, my advice is to always know what your fuel gauge was showing at the end of the day. Easy way to know if you had any fuel stolen overnight.
I agree about using the TA. Growing up on a 766 and 966 we used the TA's all the time during light work and heavy plowing. Like you said just shift it fast. We made of 6000 hours on our tractor before working on the TA's. The only reason we serviced them at that point was we were in the transmission that far so we might as well include them as some PM.
Me too Shirley I did do 2 years of car maintenance classes at night school, that was years ago. Nowadays it's more difficult to do in modern cars ,I find them so more complicated. Best wishes from the North Norfolk coast UK 🇬🇧
Watching you work on the tractor reminds me so much of my uncle that passed away this year. I used to help him when I was growing up working on Ford tractors.
Pete I will never own farm equipment but I enjoy these videos for some reason. Hope you and your family stay well during these expensive economic times.
Pete, you're so good at explaining things. I won't lie, I fast forwarded through a some of the most technical stuff but I enjoyed it anyway because you're just such a good teacher and I like learning about mechanical things as well, although I don't think I'll ever work on a tractor. lol But they're interesting none the less. Anything old like that because they just don't make them as well today as they did back then. It's so nice to know that you and others out there are keeping this valuable knowledge going from generation to generation. That is so important. Thank you and keep going!
Pete, your timing is impeccable sir. I just bought a black stripe 966 and downloaded the service manual. Your explanation is so much easier to understand than the books. Thank you and I love your videos.
Pete, I don't know if I will need this information , but you are such a great teacher and I enjoy watching and learning also where to get the information from ! I love watching your videos ! Thank you !!! GOD BLESS Y'ALL !!!
Thank you for your post’s Pete! Messaging you from Wyoming and we recently bought a decent 1256. We just adjusted everything per your video and it shifts like a Cadillac. Thanks for your contribution.
As always a wonderful tutorial, thanks Pete. My 706 gasser needs some adjustments as well I think, as I usually can't just shift gears, but have to wait for the gears to mesh otherwise they will grind. My TA is also acting a little off as well, as sometimes I'll shift it, and it won't shift for a few seconds before it then pops into gear. It probably needs to be replaced.
Have a 1066 with a TA delete that I adjusted the trans brake and clutch linkages on a couple months ago. This video is great for showing how to do it the quick and easy way! Nice shirt you have on btw, I graduated from there in 2020.
Hi Pete, my name is Ingemar, I really enjoy your Channel, I’m renovating my garage and installing a ramp, I think I’ll start a channel, I used to have a farm tractor, it was called a Cockshutt 1970 model. Thanks for the show. Stay safe.
Pete, there's a lot of stuff you cover that I don't NEED to know but I'm a "I wonder how that works?" kinda guy, and like others have said, you're a good teacher, keep up the great videos.
God. I love these videos. Silly as it may sound, I've had anxiety issues for fifteen or more years, and they seem to be getting worse, and this guy's demeanor and wonderful way of talking, and teaching, is so incredibly soothing to me. What a wonderful person with a great family. So pleasant to watch all of these.
Interesting to watch even though I don’t have the faintest idea what you are talking about (my brother would however he is a green man😲). I enjoy listening to you and watching your daily life.
You mind swinging by Nebraska and doing the same thing to my dad's 1066? :-) That thing has had shifting problems since I was helping farm as a kid, over 20 years ago! (I might actually try to talking my brother into seeing if we can give this a shot when I'm home sometime)
my support team answered my questions about a problem with. " its in the book, if that dont fix it, call me back". I learned to not call them. I called the oldest guy I new that worked on the old machines,
Love seeing ya Pete! You have a great weekend from an old NYC boy! Noticed you did not mess up your Tee shirt! The color fits ya!😊... Didn't notice Texas A&M 🙄
Like the progress you are making with the 756. I know you are feeling you spend too much time on fixing tractors but I don't think so. I really enjoy these videos and sometimes watch them more than once.
Wow. From the description of the video, I didn’t have the foggiest idea what you were doing but after watching it’s totally clear and understandable. Thanks! Now I need a tractor and a farm!
Hi there, Pete. Thank you for this. You've helped us maintain a classic tractor on our historic farm. We have a '54 Farmall 400, which is one of the first with the torque amplifier, and I had no idea HOW it worked much less if it was working right on our machine. All I can say is that Farmall created something really cool and brilliantly handy with the TA. And, it does work perfectly on our 400.
Very interesting, Pete. I love the way you figure things out by doing it the easy way. I watch some of the RU-vid videos of the big farmers in Iowa and Montana, with their million-dollar tractors, and what you do on your few acres is just as impressive. Far more entertaining anyway!
