Cuarentena for me was just about taking it easy on myself and giving my body time to heal, nothing as strict as our mothers did back in the day, but I definitely tried to keep baby healthy and germ free and fed.
The mommy milk last 4-6 hrs sitting out after pumped 6-7 days in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer!!!! I just had my baby girl 21 days ago via C-section!!! Baby Noah is adorable!!!!
Wrong freshly expressed breast milk is only good sitting out for up to 4 hrs , within the 4 hrs it needs to be either fed to the baby or put in the fridge/ freezer . Once it’s in the fridge it’s good for 4 days, within those 4 days it needs to either be fed to baby or put in freezer , once milk is in the freezer it’s good for 6 months (normal freezer) or 12 month in a deep freezer. This is going off cdc guidelines , hope this helps (:
Nobody is more deserving of this mommy title than you!! I’m so happy for you and Bryan 🥺🥺 watching your videos and showing your journey is always a bittersweet moment seeing you with your baby 🩵🩵
None of the women in my family(both sides- dads and moms) have done a cuarentena. And I’m sure I got out in the wind and my milk supply was great. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s all about what you feel is right. I love that we can all be Mexicanas and still be unique in how we do motherhood. Respect! ❤ So happy for you!
I never did a cuarentena either I feel like it’s very anciano but I respect those who do it. My friend did it and ate tortilla and cheese for 40 days straight. I couldn’t lol
I don't do Mexican traditions..however taking time to heal rest, and really just bonding with you baby is always recommended. You and your very supportive husband have been through a lot the last 2 years..you both really need this. Most people have to work in jobs where there's no maternity leave for mom and dad so can't afford to lose work. Others may not have a supportive family to help so that may be why not many do this tradition. You two are blessed with the support of each other and your families and that's all that matters. Take your time..enjoy the moments with your new baby and best of all make lots of new memories....
Bryan being so happy telling us Noah is 1 week 🥹💙 father of the year 🙏🏼. Mayra breathe ! I feel like after Bryancito is understandable that with this pregnancy/labor/birth/postpartum you were gonna expect the worst but just be positive and everything will be ok. I’m sure you’re seeing how great and amazing things are getting now.
I believe on the cuarentena because my mom use to say that right now we might not feel anything because we are young but when we get old that’s when we will feel everything, but sometimes it’s hard to follow it when we have our babies in the niccu and we have to go to the hospital every day. I would put jackets and cover my ears or use beanies but it was hard in so many ways. You guys are doing great Mayra congratulations again 🥰
I’m so glad your doctor made you get checked out. My stepdaughter’s sister ended up getting a blood clot 2 days after giving birth. It’s nothing to play with. Glad your doing good! It’s awesome that you have some help from your parents cooking for y’all. 💙
Baby Noah is adorable!! That newborn cry ugh I miss it!! My boys are 8 months and 18 months! That newborn stage I miss it! Enjoy it mama they grow in a blink of an eye
My biggest tip from bein a mum of three , don’t wake a sleeping baby to feed , if ther hungry they’ll let u know. But let em sleep when ther sleeping girl.
A home cooked meal after recovery is the best but sometimes gets tiring. I didn't follow my 40 days after giving birth to my daughter because I was busy going to appointments and I had COVID after a month. It was the worst and on top of that I had the baby blues. Everyone is different, but you are doing great and enjoy the newborn stage with your baby boy and husband it goes by fast 🥺
I'm living for these vlogs, I just patiently wait for Mayra to upload.. I was pregnant with my first son after 3 girls with Mayra when she was pregnant with bryancito🙏🤍 just to see Finally see her being a mother to baby Noah is just so heartwarming to see 🥹 I've been watching the whole family for years now and I feel like I know them, love this! 🥰❤️ please post ALL the vlogs! We want to see them! Love ya ms gorg
The air thing is very true girlie! You’ll start feeling it later on the pain in your back si no Te cuidas!! Bless your mommy for looking out for her baby❤
I was on my own, had my baby at 19 and he was in NICU so definitely no cuarentena but it makes me so happy to see you getting so much love and support.
I’m pretty strict with my cuarentena, I don’t go out y me pongo faja the whole time because it helps everything inside and out go back to normal. And let me tell you my stomach is flat and nice. Also, I breast fed both my kids for over a year both of them so the cuarentena I feel like it helps with milk supply 😅! I think you should listen to your mom lol
You all looks so good and happy as parents. Myra, I was like you. I had 2 c-sections. My legs would swell up like you. My friend who is a nurse, told me to drink lots of water and Gatorade. Also she told me to level my feet as much as I could and to walk a lot. It worked. Also drink chocolate with a little piece of chocolate abuelita with a laurel left. It works. Well keep up the great motherhood. Hugs!!❤
Aww mayra watching you all theses years from the time you would do a GRWM and using cocoa bear eyeshadow that I loved using and watching you guys grow as a couple be watching you with Noah brought tears to my eyes and watching Brian helping and being a great daddy you guys it’s beautiful to watch so thank you h go or sharing theses moments with us and about going out and covering up it is true because I didn’t listen to my mom my grandmother and nana I litter my get back pain and headaches and they say it’s from the epidural and hair loss and minded you my youngest will be 27in June live you guys be safe 🐶🌸🐶🌸💕
Definitely schedule a lactation appointment at your hospital. Breastfeeding is hard! And can be painful if he's not latching properly. I combo fed my daughter for over a year. But my #1 tip for combo feeding is to mimic the flow of your breast when bottle feeding. The nipple on the bottle must be the slowest flow the brand makes, and feed him in an upright position, not laying down. It will get better!
Congrats again on the amazing arrival of baby Noah. 💙 ; ok, so I haven’t been able to do the quarentena with both of my kids because I guess as I decided to have kids after 30 years old, I didn’t get the help you would usually get. It was super hard with my daughter because I ended up having an emergency c-section. My family told me “ah pues” and said they couldn’t help at all. I did it alone with a 1 year old and a newborn while my BD worked 16 hr days. My c-section incision ended up opening, I caught aire & the headaches were horrible. my recovery was really rough. With my last and final baby, I’m getting a repeat c-section with a tubal ligation and the doctor literally told my BD, someone has to be with me for at least 3 weeks helping because I need to heal and recover. So hopefully this time it will be easier.
So happy for you and Bryan girl! Seeing you on this journey from the beginning to now has filled my heart with joy for you! May your little family always be blessed. Also where is your black “badass mom” sweater from?
Can't wait to see the new vlog and hope you guys have a great Tuesday morning, afternoon and evening with baby Noah and I love your guys intro and it looks so real.
Ohh girl I know how u feel what help my breast milk to come in like a whole lot was oatmeal my mother in law used to make me but it wasn’t a regular oatmeal we’re all used to she would actually make it watery but with a great flavor she was on good good to me & helped me soo much with my first born may god rest her beautiful soul she was the definition of the best mother in law anyone can ask for & im soo happy ur & Brian’s mom are there for u guys out as well but here’s to many blessings ur guys wayy…♥️
I was the most lenient with my “cuarentena.” I still drank cold thing and ate cold things and ate chile! I was eating hot Cheetos the next day and the nurse/lactation consultant said I was fine that I can eat anything i wanted! And I and baby indeed were fine! She is 1 year old now and I still breast feed 🤷🏻♀️😊 truly every body is different ❤️🩹 congratulations again on baby Noah ❤️
See you thrive through your journey. Brings me so much motivation and inspires me. Just the fact you went through that c section and are blessed with baby Noah. Let's me know I will be OK to as I am approaching my c section .
Hi Mayra I got to tell you that you look sooo good I’m so glad to see you and Bryan so happy with your beautiful baby he looks so much like Bryan I know that you guys are going yo be excellent parents I wish the best to you both I’m so excited and happy for you both may God bless your little family !! I love you guys . From ABQ New Mexico .
Definitely did somewhat of a cuarentena, I was on week 3 at a basketball game lol. My mom kept telling me about r the cotton balls in the ears but it was kind of annoying. And about the covering your back I heard i does affect the milk supply but I feel like it affects more your back. Either normal or c-section delivery. I definitely feel more back pain at 6 months postpartum didn’t fill it much at the beginning. As for the milk supply my dropped because a girl was really going through postpartum depression and I had to choice my mental health. My baby needed a happy mama. It was very harsh on myself with pumping and trying to breast feed but it was so hard I gave up 1 month after. My respects for those mothers are able to pump and breast feed that another full time job in itself. Congrats on your bundle of joy Mayra and Bryan ❤
Loving the new intro pic !! I did not do a quarentena my baby was born durning COVID 2020 and I was not about to spend even more time indoors. The NICU nurse told us he couldn’t go outside for 4 months…! We took him to the park on q pic-nic that same day we got out the hospital.
I missed you guys! But I understand you are new parents and need your time off I can’t wait until you get more consistent again and we get family vlogs. ❤
Girl My cuarentena consisted of staying home ,1st week was strictly only caldo de pollo. When I would go out to his appointment I had to fully cover myself so air won’t go in . I wasn’t able to cook/mop/sweep. Fajada for sure. GIRL!! Staying home the whole cuarentena gave me the baby blues.
Due to what happened with first baby it is natural to have the reaction or feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Have faith your doing great as a mom ❤
Myra I struggled with breastfeeding and tried so many pumps but trust me when I tell you the Baby Buddha pump is the strongest and it’s hands free!!! I pumped every single time after a feeding and my baby had a whole deep freezer full of milk! Good luck mama you got this!!
Amen and amen ! Omg 37+4 i had my rainbow at 36+4! And it’s so crazy my rainbow was born march9, 2021 he was in the nicu for 19days! Us mommas are a different type of strong! Sadly I lost his brothers who were twins in 2019 and I just lost my daughter last year 😢 im so happy for you guys ! God bless ! ❤
Good morning girl. Your doing great. Same happened to me both legs swollen one more than another one. Also had a ultrasound to check for blood clott and nothing thank God. But my c section opened and I ended up going to urgent care to get checked out and also had to take my baby with me and I was super scared. Thank God all was fine.
Hi momma freshly pumped milk last out for 4 hours, in the fridge last 4 days and in the freezer lasts up tO 6-12 months. After feeding if baby don’t finish milk it’s good up 2 hours after feeding ❤
To produce more milk 🥛(•)(•) Do this no joke(unless you’re allergic to it) Toast on a non stick pan with nothing other that sesame seeds until brownish color or they start jumping… then put it in the blender with the amount of sugar desired until powdered, then add the milk of your preference. One bag of sesame seeds makes a gallon of this mixture with milk, lasts in the fridge 7days and you can drink it as often as you like…. You’ll be supplying milk like crazy!!! And it tastes amazing kinda like peanutty like. Anyone can drink it also but this helps lactating mommas alooooootttt No Joke!
Hey girl breastfeeding gets better and easier! I have a 2 month old and at first he would latch and stay on me for about an hour and a half now he eats and he’ll be done also I recommend the Dr. Browns bottle super good for anti colic!! 😊
Hes so cute!! Im 2 weeks away from welcoming my second baby boy. After the loss of my twin boys in 2019 i never thought id have one baby let alone two ever again so im very excited 🥺
Loved the intro. Noah is so cute. God bless ❤ I had 3 kids and no one ever mentioned cuarentena to me. My daughter and daughter in law didn't do cuarentena either. ☺️
Hey girl! Just a tip that helped me while I was adjusting to breastfeeding. Pace feed the baby with the bottle so that when he goes on the breast he doesn’t get frustrated with having to put it the work 🥰
We have something similar to cuarentena in my culture. Mom and baby don’t leave the house for the first month. Most people break it in some way shape or form, so don’t feel bad!
I stayed home during my cuarentena and was covered up. I thought my mom was tripping but I went along with it. The one day I HAD to get out the house I had the worst migraine . I think it’s worth just just staying in .. you’ll have lots of time to go to many outings after.. I’
I had a C-section in January and unintentionally did cuarentena since it was so snowy and cold. I stayed at home and mostly upstairs for the first 30 days and thankfully I had no complications. I didn’t follow it to a T (like I didn’t have only hot foods) but looking back I do think doing that for the first 30 days really helped with my pain and recovery.
I had 2 c-section and my 1st c-section my feet were so swollen and painful so I got compression socks, it helped tremendously!! For my 2nd c-section I was prepared for swollen feet so I had compression sock ready.
With the first I let a lot slide but with my decond i didnt go outbat all. my mom did tell me that with the second labor you body is more open and takes longer to back to normal. I just covered up good and drank chocolate and other teas. Caldos and avena too.
A little portable heater to warm up the area where he is getting diaper changes will help alot my kids are 2&3 and i still turn on the heater during diaper changes and bath
I did a cuarentena. I didn’t leave my house for 40 days. One, I couldn’t really walk for like 20 days lol and the rest my husband’s mom and my mom are both really strong believers. On the plus side I slept a lot! I had a lot of help.
Omg yes I walked with a hood and socks and I think its important too take care after having a baby because your body needs healing im blessed with seven kids and I have always tried too take care of myself but I did shower girl but wouldn't go out at all unless I had too
I don't do none of that the moment I got out the hospital i started cleaning the whole house and picked up my daughter from school and i had a C-section...no help and I'm a single mother
I did my cuarentena just like you! I was as strict either and I was also pumping the only thing my mom made sure I did was make sure I didn’t walk around bare foot I had my baby in November but I was still soooo hot so I was in shorts and t shirts cause pumping made me hot idk if it makes sense but yes I definitely wasn’t strict but I still made it so happy for your family! 🥰
i never covered myself or my ears. sometimes i wouldn’t even wear socks. i didn’t go out as much but i would step outside with my baby for some fresh air. i definitely was chilling the first few weeks my baby was born. i didn’t do much besides clean bottles but i had an over supply i mean i had so much milk i didn’t know what to do with it!! so i didn’t really follow the cuarentena & i still had great milk supply. i really don’t believe in it but i totally get it because my mom would always get on me about it haha times are just different now.
Baby Noah is ADORABLE!!! About quarentena...I got out of the hospital (c-section) on a Thursday and I was at a carne asada on friday, the next day. Needless to say...I didn't do a quarentena. 😅😅😅
Yes Mayra , take care of yourself after having the baby’s cuz the body goes through a lot . I was in cuarentera for almost two months on my first pregnancy and i will also use. Faja and I’ve noticed I did loose a lot of weight , but with my second child I didn’t do much of the cuarantera and now I’m suffering from body aches and I didn’t wear a faja and my weight is hard to loose so yes listen to your mom . Curentera is good for you and just have some time alone with your baby .
