Many thanks Deano and much appreciated. It probably comes across a little complicated but in actual fact, it’s quite simple once you know what to do - which I didn’t when I first started on this. Good to know that it all works now though! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
Hi Rob and many thanks for the comment and yes, this is now definitely sorted as far as I’m concerned, all I have to do now is to reconfigure it once it’s finally installed back into the new/revised engine shed area. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………. Graham
spot on graham. you did a good thing to not includ the old control to the turn table. i hav com across this type of reprograming in various dcc controls . even when my father had a ho scale layout he tested a mareklin turntable on a computer. in that case it was recomende to modify the turntable to dcc after modificaton . you had to either program it in the dcc control or in computer. and you used the f buttons on the controler to move the turntable to any track you selected. keep up the good work graham. 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi mate and thanks for the comment. Yes, I’m sure this could be operated in a similar way on other DCC controllers but as I mentioned in the previous video, I have no idea how that would work as I only have experience on the Z21 and of course the ADM turntable but the process must be very similar on other units. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham, A very interesting problem solving video. Well done. I had a similar problem with my Heljan Turntable, I could'nt find anything on the internet showing how to control it with my DCC system.[I use NCE Powercab]. Like you, I persevered. and used the control box to calibrate the Turntable, and eventually got it to work using the accessory fuction on my Powercab, so I have an accessory number for each track. As each individual DCC system and each brand of Turntable all have different operating systems I assume not all systems will be suitable for operation with a DCC controller. Now you have made this video, it should be of use to other modellers with th ADM kit. I did put up a video in August 2021,showing how to achieve DCC control of The Heljan TT. Kind regards Mike.
Hi Mike and thank you very much for this very informative comment. I guess we have both done the same thing but using different turntable and DCC controllers which I knew would be the case in many cases - some folk might have the same turntable but are using the ECoS controller for example, there are so many different combinations but hopefully the basic principle that you and I have used could be used but with slightly differing settings/commands. But hopefully it may have been a help to a few who might be considering to DCC their turntable or at least, help steer them in the right direction in some small way. I did watch your video and we’ll done for sorting that out too, it just shows what can be done with a little thought. You were lucky in having some form of instructions - I had nothing which was a bit of a hinderance but got there in the end. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Tim, the Z21 is actually quite a powerful bit of kit, it’s not until you start drilling down into the app that you realise just how much you can do. As you say, hopefully during the year you will see this all functioning as it should within the new revised engine shed area. 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
Very clever Graham, I watched both videos back to back and I have to be honest, it was as clear as mud to me. Still You have every right to pat yourself on the back, I'm convinced you modellers think different to most folk. However for you Graham, I think the missus, might bonk you on the head and bundle you in the car and off to the hospital before the 12th, just to get her kitchen table back. 😂
He he, I’m surprised I haven’t had a bonk on the head too, I seem to be dominating the kitchen table at the moment. Luckily for me, I have a very understanding wife so that really helps! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………. Graham
Hi Graham I have commented on your fantastic videos in the past, but I am now after a bit of help/information from you. I have an N gauge ADM turntable and it needs to have a service/replacement of the turntable well. What I would like to know is, when you serviced/overhauled yours, was there anything which went (ping) and you thought f--, where did that go, when you dismantled it, or was it quite logical in removing the turntable head, for servicing. Thank you in advance, and hope you are keeping fit and well. Kind regards Dave Pearce from N gauge Broadstead
Hi Graham. Have you watched "Grandads Train Room" #20 Loco Yard video? A Scenic3D Turntable Surround is used to great effect, so this might be of interest to you as I know from watching your videos you are very good at how I do videos.
Hi mate and I do subscribe to his channel and have seen how he has treated his engine shed area which is very similar to what I had previously, although on a smaller scale than his. The next iteration of my engine shed area will be similar in detail to what I had but just reconfigured slightly differently. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
@@dinmorejunctionmodelrailway Well hopefully you won’t have to wait too long, today I stripped all the remaining old stuff off ready for a fresh new design to begin. 👍🏻
Hi mate and no problem. Glad to have been of some help. I have the address set to 1 in the Z21 app although I have heard that a couple of others have set it to 89, I have no idea why that is though but as you can see, address 1 seems to work. Cheers. ………..Graham
