Hello friend, I have a laptop latitude 7420 a bios does not have the admin password, but when I install windows and continue it asks for a key or business or school email and I don't have it anymore, what do I do now?
WORKS GREAT! the support from Dell was a disaster. I live in Germany and had a DELL employee from an Indian call center on the line. The employee spoke so bad German and even more incomprehensible English. Thanks for your little video. It helped a lot.
THANK YOU!!!! I have been arguing with Dell for weeks about transfer of ownership and trying to get into my Latitude E5440 after buying it online. Your solution not only worked exactly like you said it would, but was ridiculously easy and saved me so much frustration. I subbed your channel and will recommend you to anyone that asks. You are a gentleman and a scholar
@@selmateacher7 THANKS for putting an emphasis on the words 'case sensitive' because that's what did it. When I heard you stress case sensitive, it caused me to check to see what case was an 'O' is in the System Code...I did this by copying/pasting it in a word document. The capital 'O' was the problem. The board is now unlocked.
I wish I would have watched your video prior to spending 3+ hours with Dell tech support who wouldn't help with a Dell E5530 purchased on E-Bay from a charitable organization with an admin BIOS password on E-bay from a charitable organization (unknown to them when they sold it). This worked perfectly! Thanks so much for sharing this information so I didn't need to take it apart to unplug the CMOS battery and short the EEPROM!
well, I have to wish great thanks both of you. For Daniel for this great Detaied video, and for you Andreas for that "keyboard trick" :) Because I use Hungaryan layout, so permanently press ` next to "1" key. because on hungarian keyboard layot "0" means "ö" and " ' " means "0" is a very often used letter in our language so thats why is on there :) And the Ctrl + Enter was another inportant info... I press only ENTER 2 or 3 times :) Thank you againg guys. My gratitude is all yours. :)
I've catched a Dell E6430 from my company to give it to charity but BIOS was locked ... thanks to your link it was a matter of minutes!!! I only stumbled across the keyboard layout (US in BIOS) and then it worked - with "Dell from serial number" and Ctrl+Enter as mentioned. Have a nice life :-)
Not sure I'd you can still answer questions but how does this allow you to bypass the admin password? I followed your steps and created a new system password but it stoll prompts for the admin password when I log in
2023 and you're still savings butts! My step-dad had some retired Dell Latitude laptops I got when he passed. The two of them that had better specs and screens were BIOS locked. If it wasn't for your video I would have just settled as using them for parts! Thanks so much! *Edit* grammar
Thank you for letting me know. I always try my best to help. I am sorry to hear of your step-dad's passing. I hope you might subscribe and enjoy my newer videos.
Okay I know this video was made 2 years ago but this video is literally a damn life saver. I was trying to log into my old dell laptop that I've had for about 5 years and couldn't remember my admin password for the life of me. This video basically helped me hack into my own laptop lmao. Thank you so much man 💖
Mr. Berry: thank you, thank you, thank you. I have a very old Dell Inspiron 1600 Laptop that I purchased in 2006. I had to have the hard drive replaced about 5 years ago when the original no longer worked. At that time I had added an admin password to it, but I lost my record of the password. I was therefore completely locked out of the laptop. Thank God I found this instructional video of yours, showing me exactly, but very simply, how to Remove the existing password and get into my Setup to change the password. You have saved me so much aggravation and unnecessary expense. Thank you and God bless you.
It is incredible, I have looking for this key since I had to reset my computer and learn about the dark side of programming. It is an amazing and useful video. Thank you so much! Keep on lighting our minds please🥰
Note: on french Latitude laptops use QWERTY layout on the internal keyboard otherwise it won’t work, an external QWERTY keyboard won’t help, you need to actually type the letter z as a w instead for example. It worked that way for me, cheers!
Had a Dell latitude e5430 for about 3 or 4 years, I acquired it at a yard sale near my home at the time. Just stumbled upon your vid, trying to figure our how to fix it up for my use. I was so worried it had to be jailbroken or of the like by a technician who would later charge a lottah money. Thank you for your help!! - Shelby
Thank you friend for taking the time to explain that and upload it. It is the only video on RU-vid that is concise direct and answers the question. Kudos
Thank you! Everything worked, much to my surprise. I have plenty of computer knowledge, but it was quite the rabbit hole to go down trying to find a way to reset the BIOS lock quickly. Good video
Worked for me. I thought it was n't going to but then i realised the characters in the provided unlock were not l's but 1's . The courier font non the site you go to plus my bad eyesight made me take 3 attempts when I could have unlocked it first time. Thanks for you useful video. I was half expecting a time wasting video but you are the real deal.
It didn't work the first 5-6 times but once I've noticed something with the keyboard I realized how silly the problem was. The Laptop was "Qwerty" layout all covered with Azerty stickers, so I borrowed a USB Qwerty keyboard to avoid all surprises and it worked the first attempt. Thank you so much. (Dell Latitude 5490)
Thank you very much. A note for anyone with a non-US Keyboard: I had to use the US keyboard and then enter with ctrl+enter. Tried quite a few times before it works :)
Holy shit this saved me a ridiculous amount of time. Now i don’t have to do anything crazy after removing the CMOS battery for 12 hours didn’t work. Btw, for those of you working on a Dell Optiplex 790, 7020, ect, make sure that you use Ctrl+Enter after typing the password. 👍
Awesome thanks mate. Like someone else mentioned, better to use an external keyboard (USB) because the default keyboard may use a different regional layout, which makes it hard to insert the right code! Cheers
Thank you!! I was working in the dark and my backlit keyboard kept shutting off every 10 seconds, driving me nuts. Found out I had to enter the BIOS to change this setting. Groovy, went in and found out I couldn't without the Administration PW (I bought this laptop used). Your solution worked after I tried others that didn't work. I can now work in the dark without my backlight turning off! 💜
I'm really surprised that this actually worked...I have dell precision M6500 and your steps got rid of the locked password out of my bios..thank you so much, this has been a life saver for my computer
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was about to recycle several donated laptops for our school! This information will help us provide technology devices to students who need them. Bless you!😊
Thank you Daniel. Worked for me with small adjustment on E5570. If your keyboard has national layout - you have to use US (QWERTY) layout when entering password followed by ctrl+enter key combination.
Thank you very very much! This worked on a Dell XPS series, which was their top of the line in late 2016/early 2017; I’ve been locked out of my bios since 2017 after changing then forgetting my admin password. Giving you a thumbs up!
That is true, but I am only helping. If a thief stills a Dell laptop, they would normally want to hack the Windows password and not even worry about the BIOS password. So they would run an app like OPHcrack or go through hacking the system's OS password tables to do that.
True indeed ! Hacking the windows password isn’t called hacking anymore, there are tools easy to use and with a bit of brains anyone can access a windows account ! ;-)
@Beard Muscle Sorry to hear that. On some codes , it can be difficult to decode their letters and numbers as their zeros and ones look like the letters O and L or I. Please try both combinations or copy their code and paste it into a word processor document and change their font. This is what many of my students do.
It worked! I thought it soundboard because I have slight memory of seeing up my own password last year, at first it didn't work when I simply pressed enter, after watching more and clicking ctrl+enter, it unlocked! Thanks so much man you're a lifesaver
I can’t believe this 😧😭…. I’ve suffered with removing this admin password from my laptop for a very long time now and you’ve saved me… this video helped me so much and you’ve earned me as a subscriber and a like 👍🏽 thanks man
Thanks so much Sir It worked perfectly well on my Dell Latitude E5420 laptop, I was able to remove the administrator password so that I can have full control of my bios setup
Thank you!! I might have not realised it was case sensitive, After 3yrs visiting this video i came across the same today, my old dell e6400 finally unlocked.
Thanks so much! Got an E6430 unlocked this way - and in fact, I've been unlocking many laptops with this same solution for years now! Mostly Dells, even an Acer if my memory serves me right.
It sounds like that system has more than just the BIOS password. There are more than one password that can be used to block users. This video is for the BIOS password only. I have a different video for the OS or user password.
Hello. I have been trying all different types of methods inclusive of updating my bios but this has been a tight rope in my neck. Your solutions worked fine for me even though I am watching it after four years the video has been created. If I would have known earlier, I would have come straight to your channel. Thanks so much!
some units are harder to unlock than others. I would say try again as the ones looks like i or L and zeroes look like the letter O. Also some users try ctrl + ctrl + enter after keying in the code. You will find success eventually, because we have seen thousands of these in my classroom. Some do take a few tries. .
Thank you so much! I have a desktop Dell 7020 and it would not boot from my SSD locked and I looked into the BIOs and saw it was locked. By following your tip I got it to boot. Btw it was set in legacy which it won't boot from until I unlocked it and set it to UEFI. Thank you again!
i dont even get a second password it just shows hdd (old) and i also cant even get to bios when i boot it just says dell security and that its password locked
Thank you ever so much! What was truly catalytic was that point where you stated that we have to press ctrl+enter (!) In order to accept the code 😊 Very much obliged to you!!!
You're very welcome! I'm delighted to hear that the tip about pressing Ctrl+Enter to accept the code was helpful for you. It's those small but impactful insights that can make a significant difference in productivity and efficiency. If you ever have more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to help, and your success is my priority! 😊👍
I've tried all the combinations I could to avoid the mistakes of the "is it an l or a 1", enter, ctrl-enter, and so on and it hasn't worked on my dell latitude E5530 laptop. I am still locked out of my bios and can't flash it with what Dell says it needs (critical update they say). It is a descent laptop running windows 10 but everything I used to get it up and running I already had, except for the battery. BTW, is that Selma near Reedley?
Yes. it is Selma, next to Reedley. On some newer Dell models , we have had issues as well. BTW I was teaching at the adult schools in both Reedley and Selma, over 20 years. If you are familiar with RHS, I was in rooms, 701 and 707. Now back to the E5530, I understand that you tried everything. In those cases where everything was tried ..multiple times.. and still locked.. then I would call Dell support. transfer ownership to you and then they will give you the code to unlock the BIOS.
@@selmateacher7 Thanks for getting back to me even though the thread was quite old. I will probably have to contact Dell then if I decide it's worth the hassle. I am a RHS graduate, and also taught and retired from Parlier after 32 years but at the elementary level. Thanks again for your response.
@@MichaelPhillips-km2hf I wish Dell had a better solution than that. In class, almost all of the laptops that we receive via auctions will be unlocked as shown in the video. when that does not work, we have tried other ways, i.e. reset the BIOS, ... When that did not work , then we would be forced to contact Dell support, transfer ownership of the unit and then they would send a code. The last option took the most time, (on phone ) and was one of the reasons why it was the last option.
Hello Mr. Berry...I just wanted to pass along my thanks for creating this video and helping me out of a bind. I created an admin pw and forgot to write it down ....your video helped me remove that pw. Thank you again!
Merci pour la solution ! ATTENTION : Pour les claviers non QWERTY, vous devez faire comme si vous tapiez sur un clavier QWERTY en comparant les touches de votre clavier !
