Another card I recommend if you're into straight chaos is a card called Bedlam - it's an enchantment that says nobody can block, even yourself. But pirates dont block anyway, they recklessly board an enemy ship to rob and plunder without mercy. Yarr. What are they gonna attack you with anyway when you've already recruited their best creatures to your crew haha

I had an Admiral Beckett Brass deck and although it was very weak i loved how it dramatically shaped the way the others played. Even being close to assemble a crew capable to loot meant that everyone had to either kill my creatures or withhold their attacks or talk me out of it or something. So did the deck and the whole ''steal ur stuff'' theme work? Not at all. But it was still fun watching people trying to figure out what to do to prevent my deck from functioning as it was supposed to. Yesterday i changed it to Malcolm/Breeches though since people adapted to its strategy pretty well. Now instead of the usual ''Oh shit Brass will be out next turn hide ur things guys!!'' reaction i used to get i only get ''-Any responds to me casting Brass? - Nope. It resolves.''

The version I built of this deck is Nicol Bolas the Pirate King (aka Nicol Bolas the Ravager) as the commander. I wanted to build Nicol Bolas as his ability to steal things seemed to fit more than the Admiral, Though she is in the 99. I do like the changes and will make them to my version of the deck. Edit: I just looked at my deck again, I remembered I had a chaos sub-theme where the goal was to incentivize the opponents not to plunder my ship, with the three curses of Opulence, Verbosity, and Distrubance, Crown of Doom, Coveted Jewel and Disrupt Decorum. I also added Hellkit Tyrant for an alternate wincon to Revel in riches.

Love this! I'm a Becket Brass player myself, and although I can't say I love the flavor removal, it is nice to see you take another look at it. One this I noted that I was surprised you didn't add was Archetype of Imagination. It is fantastic in this deck, and although maybe not flavorful, I still run it because I can't ignore it's power.

Shared animosity is a dominant card in the right tribal builds. It's an absolutely bomb in my Minotaur deck.

I agree with most of your cuts, but I would much rather have cut Ramirez from this list than protean raider. Ramirez, besides being a little harder to block, just doesnt do much.

Im building a similar one but including rogues, take control. Whole theme just crime and stealing. It wont be competitive but it will be fun.

I had a Beckett Brass deck but I ended up cutting blue to make a deck about nicking other people's stuff and sacrificing it. It's vastly more effective than the Brass deck was, but I will rebuild Brass I think. I'm glad there are more good pirates.

I would say with an ability like Beckett brass, who steals things, I’d recommend to add “wishclaw talisman, timestream navigator, and skyship plunderer”. Players will have endless free tutors, endless turns! Now that’s diRRRty to me☠️

War Cadence is a card that allows you to make all of your creatures unblockable for a price. It has never disappointed me when I have played it. It is not on Brass's page at all, but an early version from someone online included it. My deck has not been the same since. I think War Cadence is easy fodder for a Challenge the Stats segment on the next EDHRECast.

My favorite pastime is seeing how badly RU-vid captions butcher the word edhrec
