Yes i agree that has to be one of the best comparison revies on both bikes, like you i prefer the look of the himo z20, and the tyre pump built into the seat post is a neat idea, but for me the adp a 20 has more going for it, which is why i ordered one today .
Agreed. This is how you review a bike. No ego and look how cool I am nonsense. Instead masses of factual detail that l can pick through and find the answers to the questions l have. Brilliant 👍
Please help me. I can't make a decision. I don't know which ebike is better. Laotie X Fiido D4s pro or ADO A 20? Which one seems more durable? I like both design, but I like Fiido better. About 150 Euro the difference. I have read many articles based on which you may think that the ADO A20 has a more convenient, faster, maybe has a more advanced pedal sensor and it has a better battery pack because it can be charged 800x instead of 500(Fiido). Is it true? What do you think? What is your experience?
I haven't tested Fiido D4s, mainly because of the fixed, none-removable battery. I thought it is inconvenient to always carry the bike to a power socket. I prefer the option to just take the battery for charging. Besides that I realy like the suspension on ADO A20, very comforatable to the other bikes without, which I tested (Himo Z20 or Fiido D11)
Just finished the video and at the end you asked for what you could do better, so I'd like to give some suggestions; when you list down important specifications like weight, plus and minus points etc, personally I like it when its visually shown as text in video's. It makes it super clear imo. Regardless video was great thanks again :)
Thank you very much for your review. I'm considering to purchase one of the e-bike and feels like ADO A20 is more suitable than Z20. It's greatly helpful!
WARNING. ADO 20+. Bought the ADO on the strength of this video Bike arrived and immediately noticed a few things not right. The standard was secondhand rusty screws, back wheel has chips out of the paint in many places. The forks are very poor quality. The stantions are supposed to be ultra smooth but I found file marks, raised spots and a nick with a sharp edge After relatively short time these will wear down the seals and cut like a file into the alloy lower part of the forks. Customer Services: you are dealing direct with the company in HK China. And after a month of promises of compensation we are no further forward.
THREE key questions: 1) Can unwanted intrusive pedal-assist be totally/permanently deactivated? Throttle-only power please! 2) Why is no rear luggage rack included? 3) Why is real range less than hslf the 80km claimed ?! Surely the manufacturers/sellers should be prosecuted for deception and making very exaggerated, false and misleading claims ! If a cake producer claims a pack contains 8 cakes but it only contains 4 cakes the cake producer would be prosecuted and fined for misleading consumers. Paul G
Hi 1) no, but you can choose to only use throttle mode on these models 2) they sell it as accessories, which I like so you don’t pay it in the standard package if not needed 3) range is stated to be in pedal assist, throttle only is less range
sorry, we are now in 2023 and I am interested in both ADO, and Fiido offers for a foldable lightweight e-bike, if possible, with torque sensors and hydraulic brakes! I am speaking about Fiido X, and ADO Air 20S! would be possible for you to comment this? Thank you!
Hi, I can't comment on these specific bikes, but I hope I can help with some general comments: Type of bike: I have a Fiido D11 which is similar - a great, lightweight bike for the city on paved roads. If the roads are rougher or when you are going on unpaved roads I would choose a different model like Himo Z20 or ADO A20. Manufacturer: Fiido and Himo have a great design. Although ADO impressed me with interesting little details on the bike and their quality - they improved their design recently. As stated in the video I prefer ADO over Himo and also would prefer it over Fiido. Hope that helps a bit.
Thank you for the really quality videos. I've been looking for a comparison video like this for quite some time. I also spend a lot of time asking people's experiences, but no one can compare in detail like you. Do you make videos about G-Force F14 or G-Force G14?
One of the best reviews of the bikes! Can the throttle on the ADO A20 work at the same time as pedal assist? Do you always have to change setting to choose whether you want throttle or pedal assist?
Thanks for your feedback! For my version with this controller it is not possible to use both. However I use the throttle and pedal as well, which has a pretty similar effect.
Do you have the A20 or A20+? ADO A20+ is the model with new controller, reflectors and rear light. (Basically the A20 with the new controller package I showed in the video) There will be 2 versions: EU (which can't be unlocked) and International (unlock is possible)
@@elProducente I checked, and my model has reflectors on wheels and can be unlocked. Do you know if i can upgrade to a 48v battery? controller says 36v/48v on it so i'm considering it.
Many parts are not produced for specific bikes and so have several options, like the display. But I guess you also need to check/change controller, battery and motor to support 48V. I’m not sure which parts need to be changed.
I've been riding this bike for about a month ru-vid.comUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
Great review and comparison. Do you know if I am able to use full electric mode from stop on the new ADO A20 XE? And can this be unlocked. UK purchase.
The ADO A20 is no longer like that in 2023, it no longer comes with the pre-installed turner throttle. If you order the international version, you will get a thumb throttle sent to you separately. In the international version you also get a bigger motor 350w, which you can unlock. The EU version is 250w, and you can unlock it but the bike does not go faster - the motor is visibly smaller and lighter. I was going to buy it, but not any more, the newer version comes with 'cross your city' logo on it. I'd say avoid it.
I have been thinking about buying an Ado A20+...Does anyone know if it has walk assist, as I live at top of two short ish flight of stairs. They are narrow so using throttle mite be scary. Also how is the hub motor at freewheeling downhill and cycling without battery.
Great review! I’m stuck between buying the ADO A16 or the A20 both seem very similar in terms of specs. What do you think the biggest difference between them is?
I think the biggest factor would be storage space. A16 is more compact due to the smaller wheels. I prefer the larger 20" wheels from A20 as I think they provide a more comfortable ride.
@@elProducente I should have followed-up. The current A20 (in the Netherlands from France) has the upgraded controller, the cruise control works, rain guards (fenders) and even reflectors on the wheels. It also comes with a very cheap rear battery powered light, which broke the first day when it fell off. But that's okay. Very happy with it.
@@elProducente My order from Aliexpress described it as this: ADO A20 Electric Bike 20Inche Floding Electric Bicycle 36V10.4AH 7Speed Ebike Men Women City BIke 250W/350W Mountain Bike. Maybe this is last year's model, but I'm happy with it.
Great informative video, thank you. Would you be able to review a Moma Bikes E20? I'm on the fence between that and the ADO as the Moma has a 16ah battery. Cheers!
hello, nice comparission and review. i have a question, i saw on ado website the ado a20+ and im curious to know if this + means it has already the newer controller for the pedal assist. furthermore on ther website there are 2 versions availlable, 1 for european market and 1 for international market. on the europran version it states that it complies with eu regulations and has 250watts 25kmh max and it explains that all 3 modes are used for pedal assist only, with no power support from handle, o it has pedal assist 1, 2 and 3 where 3 has pedal assist till 25kmh max. on the international it states unlockable to 350 watts and 35kmh and ha only 1 pedal assist and 2 powerassist with handlebar only. then it explains that the eu version is called "pedal assist mode" and the international one is called "hybrid drive mode". right below it explains how to switch this modes. so im curious if someone knows if i can buy the eu version and be able to unlock and switch the 2 modes , so i can test both and see which one fits me most ?
I'm trying to find out more infos. I think the EU version locks it to pedal assist only and no option to unlock to stay within regulations. Guess you can change the controller to get to an international version
@@elProducente hello, thank u very much for ur kind reply. aslong its legal in eu countries im fine with pedal assist only. im still torn between ado , fiido 11 and himo z20. cant decide , they all so good :)
I got the confirmation from ADO ADO A20+ is the model with new controller, reflectors and rear light. (Basically the A20 with the new controller package I showed in the video) There will be 2 versions: EU (which can't be unlocked) and International (unlock is possible)
@@elProducente Very good review and very helpful to get the right bike for my mother! Thank you so much. May I just confirm with you: Am I allowed to to ride the international version within the EU if I do not unlock? Thx for your help
So basically the best thing to do is buy both and swap all the good bits to the Z20 and fit the other parts to the A20 then sell it. You may loose a few quid but you end up with the better looking frame with the advantages of the A20.
This is a version for markets where a throttle is not allowed. I‘m not sure if it’s just a matter of throttle or if the controller is different as well.
hey can you please tell me i have the ado a20 and my p06 setting was set to 25 from supplier is this wrong thank you i notice you have it at 20 thanks in advance 🤗
@@elProducente thank you highly aprecciate the help it was set at 25 been my wheel diameter i can keep going up in the p06 settings but it has 20" wheels i wouldnt want to damage something but every video i watch p06 is set at 20
@@hasan_z yes, I figured out that it is a mass product that you can buy unbranded from Alibaba and just put your name on it. That's because there exist multiple bikes like that under a different names
Hey man! Although your review is great, I would appreciate if you can add some info about replacing the batteries. Where can I find them and what's the cost? Thanks
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I didn’t go much into detail as I’m not sure if and when a replacement would be necessary. Basically they can be found in the same store: bit.ly/3yu03tq
@@elProducente thanks man! I saw that the battery is not available currently on Banggood. Also if I remember correctly there were some issues regarding battery transport from China to Europe. I will do more research on the matter! Cheers!
@@elProducente you can chech on youtube but if you cant find it. Just turn on your himo, hold the mode button for 10sec then there should be a big P on the screen you just press mode until you come to the Pd (password) and type 1919 and the you will just set tye speed limit to 41 from 25. And boom. If it doesnt show you proper speed just set the wheel size to 28 inches or 29inches.the wheel size is i think Hd
This is one of the fake videos as explained in mine. When you change max speed it does nothing. When you change tire size, there is just a higher speed shown. When you measure with GPS it stays the same.
@@elProducente very much better or just a little better? You can time a distance on a road that climbs well and it would allow you to really realize which is better
I hardly do any comments but yours makes me laugh so I have to reply it.... anyways, These two bikes are in the same category and target buyer so it is a very good comparison.
Please note that both these bikes are illegal in EU unless registered as a moped . Hence cannot be used on bikeways.Must be used on roads with the moped insurance, driving licence and compliant motorbike crash helmet. These bikes are not pedelec EU compliant. Why? Has twist and go throttle and may be accelerated and maintained in motion without pedal assist. Be warned police across EU countries are now fining users without registration as moped as described. Fines can run in excess of 3000 Euros. Be warned.
It's very different within EU countries. It could be not defined as Pedalec. But in some EU countries a throttle is also allowed and the the e-bike is classified similar compared to an e-scooter, which also has a throttle.
@@elProducente Advice to anybody is check out as a matter of urgency in each EU country. An ebike shop in Valencia confirmed today Pedelec law in Spain. Bottom line if ebike has throttle and can maintain up to 25kph without pedal assist it is a moped-moto and requires registration. The shop and distributor is now dealing with only pedelec compliant product. Much appreciate your comments and hope the chat is useful to ebike users at large.
Thanks for the great video. Is the linked A20+ version on geekbuying the EU version? How can I distinguish it from the international one? Is the controller of the EU version really locked?
