Thanks for your replay. This is second time who told me that. So, I going to upload slower version with comments. I will do it when I have little bit time.
Hi everyone - some of you asked me for the file. Here you can download it as a work file where you can understand the idea better. drive.google.com/file/d/14CUkpD_eymlJyWJBRIdfVVNx45diu-El/view?usp=sharing
That was very skillful and smart, nice! Can you tell me, what er the requirements for an object to be able to make it into a brush? I often get the following message: The selected artwork contains an element that cannot be used in an art brush.
Hi, If you use gradients for example, it will give you same error. Actually I do not recommend use strokes as well, It will not give you error, but then you may see some artefacts. From my view, better to use filled object only.
Could have been a much better video if you would NOT have speeded up the video so we could have followed what you were actually doing. And narration would have helped a lot. I have no clue how to do what you were showing.
Hi, Thank you for your replay. Actually I did it only for view and show "what can you do with pattern bursh". And reason of this is very fast video. Tell me what exactly you can't do or what you didn't understand?
Hi Hana - you can download Illustrator file from the link below - hope it helps :) drive.google.com/file/d/14CUkpD_eymlJyWJBRIdfVVNx45diu-El/view?usp=sharing
I think you can drag any Pattern from the brush panel to artboard and you will see how it works. Pay attention on paths how they are made for each objects of the pattern brush. It should have Start, End, body, Inner corner and Outer corners.
Great tutorial! I wonder, how do you do if the angles aren't 90°? I'm thinking of Girih pattern that have 72° angles. I assume Illustrator doesn't have support for this, so how to work around it?
I want to be able to automatically draw lines like this: www.redbubble.com/people/rixn/works/26994031-g-brown-popcorn?asc=u&c=716343-girih-tiles ..with optin to define my own angles of the corners (not only 90°) - and also have multiple own-defined corners (like 36° and 72° as in a 5-fold system).
Understood. It is impossible I guess. The way Illustrator can help you is simple (but it's up to you). See video, not exact angles but Illustrator helps to you to curve any brush. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-79Ba_qZ-glU.html
@@Rixn (2 years late but) that design its a pattern not a brush all you need to get is portion of that art example: the circle and the things around is working like a star, then with a square area you can create pattern that means illustrator will fill any shape or area with the pattern multiplying and connecting the same square multiple times, the inclination is done later.
@@darkfish5411 As you can see on the main profile page (the 5 Girih Tiles) (www.redbubble.com/people/rixn/shop) my work is based on tessellation of tiles. Each side of the tiles have a main line that correspond to each other. This gives the unique pattern when puzzled. So, it is this line I want to be able to draw with a brush with various design. But as the angles are not 90 degrees it won't end up nicely every time. The angles in these patterns are multiple of 36 degrees. Can you help? Hey Zaza! Thanks for this amazing tutorial. I've a question. How do you make the background transparent while working on illustrator? I saw you did it few times :) Thanks again!
AquanautSt1 Hi, thank you for feedback, nice to hear that you liked. I'm sorry but It was commercial job. If you have some troubles with your redrawing job, just ask and I will try to help you.
This is too fast for me to learn this. Definitely make videos a little slower. It is very uncomfortable to run across the screen with your eyes. There is no point in this. Sorry!
Can yuo tell me why illustratr make tiny lines between brush tiles? Yuo see yuor patterm brush stoke... ther are small line between parts... all along the pattern WTF. I hav thes trouble to... like woman yuo cannnot fix. LOL
in this vidio at minute 7.44 to minute 8.31 you delete the white line. let me know how do you do it? i only see you select the black line, the white line on the pattern and then the white line dissappear
@@ihsanthamrin4583 there are working process, I selected black object then white, which then pushed cut in the Pathfinder panel. Also sometimes I copy and paste with Ctrl+f which pastes I same place. Then I hide it with Ctrl+3, because to use it in future. To show object again you have to push Ctrl+alt+3
