I've always had a fascination with anything military related. A friend of mine has a German K98 Mauser rifle with all of the cartouche Nazi markings on it. It's truly amazing to hold it and even more to shoot it. It has bumps and bruises and scratches on the stock and barrel and action. No telling how many trenches and battle fields it was dragged in, or how many lives it's taken. History is amazing.
@crafter170
@crafter170 2 года назад
I get you .I lifted a Mauser when we stayed the night in Colditz castle 2 years ago .This year we were in Berchesgarten and stood on the site of Hitlers house etc .Must admit I couldn't resist taking a long piss right in the middle of the site .Think it was where his dining area was ......

This car is a 1939 Mercedes Benz G4 Offener Touring Wagon. It has original upholstery and minimal restoration. A museum docent told me that with all of the bullet-proof metal the car weighs about 9,000 lbs. He said that the original tires were severely worn from the weight and the only tires that the museum could find to replace them were, ironically, from Israel (Take that, Hitler!). This car was delivered to Hitler in late 1939 and used by him in Ober Salzberg, Berlin and Poland. (www.roadsideamerica.com

The German military had 130 of those G4 Mercedes Benz Personnel Cars and the chances of THAT car being one of Hitler's personal vehicles is slim to none! He had 4 models that he himself rode in, he never drove, which were a 1937 model, 2 - 1938 models and a 1939 model. The ONLY one of the four models still existing that Hitler was actually known to have been in is at a museum in Belgium so rest assured THAT CAR is NOT one of Hitler's cars. There are like a half-dozen of these floating around the USA and NONE are the cars that Hitler was in, period.

"owned and driven by Hitler" ? Nope, do your research guys. Adolph Hitler was a well documented car lover but alas he did not drive. You will note that he is always seen riding in his cars but not driving. It has been documented that the man who saw many a race, commissioned the Volkswagen and requested the Autobahns, never drove a car himself. I would reference one book; Thinking Small: The Long, Strange Trip of the Volkswagen Beetle by Andrea Hiott as a source for this info.

The old IMPERIAL PALACE CASINO in Las Vegas used to house a Mercedes that once belonged to Hitler. If I recall it had the same setup as the one in your video. Back then the owner of the vehicle was Ralph Engelstad, not sure if he still owns it. He had at that time the largest concentration of Duesenbergs anywhere (52), and the old "IP" had a massive room that featured a super cool 1,000-car exhibit. Thanks for covering that piece of history Adam, safe travels.

The people who wanted to finance a war gave Churchill millions of pounds and helped him obtain the Prime Minister's job in the UK are the evil, make no mistake. Hitler was desperate to create a treaty to avoid war and get his broken country back together, Churchill ignored his treaty requests.. WWI was about getting Germany into line as Germany was a commercial juggernaut and wanted no part of a common single European market, they wanted to offer their products and services unfettered to the world. The people who wanted a One World Government and a New World Order wouldn't allow that and basically destroyed Germany and as a result broke the country up into pieces. That's when Hitler came about, and he wanted to put Germany back together. You people really need to quit listening to the propaganda media and start looking through all the available records yourselves. Watch "Conspiracy of Silence" and "The Franklin Cover Up" the people (if you can call them human) are the one who perpetrated unspeakable crimes against the children in these films. These are the people who also finance both sides of wars and blame people like Hitler for all their sins. He was a great scapegoat. These are the same people behind the Bolshevik Revolution where 80 million people were murdered. They financed the communism of China where God knows how many millions of people were killed as a result. They even tell you the American civil war was over slavery, when if fact it was over the states being denied interposition between themselves and the Federal Government. In other words the country incorporated and the states lost their sovereign firewall to keep the federal government in check Lincoln imposed martial law over the United States that is still in effect today..So much for good old Abe.

Hitler never learned to drive a car himself, and (thus) he never owned one himself. He was driven and the cars belonged to the German state. Mercedes Benz repeatedly tried to deny all that myths. Now, it is true that some cars in the pool were used mostly by one Nazi leader. I once came across the one used by Goebbels often. It was in the eighties and it was standing behind a Dutch car museum. I strayed into the back garden looking for a toilet... There it was, outside and a dude from the museum started answering my questions. He told me the museum did not know what to do with it. They could not display it for political reasons. They did not want to sell it with publicity for political reasons. It was for sale, but the museum wanted to know the buyer's political affiliations first. In fact, he indicated to me that the price would be very low if agreed. If I had owned a garage to store it warm and dry, I think I would have bought it. But I hadn't, so I didn't. I could not care less about Goebbels, I just saw one of my favorite pre-war cars for sale for a bargain.

also, there are 2 more hitler staff cars on display worldwide. there is another at the canadian war museum which i am assuming is in ottawa....that is the newest one and the most ornate one. there is this one which is the oldest one and there is one on display in Sinsheim, Germany at the technical museum and that car is the mid-era one.

I'll admit I wasn't sure if I wanted to see this one. Not surprisingly, I'm glad I did. It was undeniably chilling that the monster had been in that very car, of course, but fascinating to see in a twisted way too. What a piece of history! One question, though. How did Hitler's murder propaganda mobile wind up in California, USA!?I Liked it very much, Adam. Safe travels.

Super cool vlog today. Great historical documentation! I loved the period music playing in the museum. I am really appreciative towards the museums and curators whom spend their time and money to showcase such interesting and important parts of our past. I did find it a little disappointing that there weren't any other visitors there like a field trip, or a grandfather with his grandson/daughter. My grandfather took me to the giant airplane "graveyard" outside of Tucson in the '80s and I remember it well...good times. Thanks Adam.

That is not Hitler's car, seven of these cars were issued to the German Army in 1940, the one that Hitler rode in now sits in the Imperial War Museum in Ottawa Ontario, Canada. ( Serial Number and original Plate confirms this ). This one you showed most likely belonged to Goering or Gobbels as two of these versions were brought back to the US as trophies. For more info, check out Wikipedia or go to the Imperial War Museums web site.

My understanding is that Hitler never drove an automobile.....ever. But he did like automobiles. That's the not so dark side about Hitler. He knew mobilizing Germany was the future and started a state funded project to produce Germany's own version of the american model T. He tapped engineer ferdinand porsche of auto union notoriety, to design it and the state would produce it. It was call the KDF wagen. The war cut all that off and his design was adapted to military usage. Ferdinand porsche went on to design panzer tanks. After the war the british needed industry to right west germany's war torn economy. Major Hearst was tasked with getting the KDF factory back open and producing the original KDF wagen. Of course they changed the name to Volkswagen. It's somewhat unfortunate the Nazi legacy is remembered for one thing only - the holocaust. It's like Ike Turner remembered for one thing, when he was an early progenitor of rock n roll. The holocaust casts a pall over what were new and interesting programs and practices. If you look at the nazi views on environmentalism , it's quite modern. Heck, it was the nazis that started the torch run, lighting the torch, and releasing pigeons at the olympic games. The nazi government really backed and got behind the fledgling groups of rocketeers who were designing rockets. Nazi germany's rocket program was more advanced than any other. Obviously the government wanted to weaponize it. But we got technology from them that put many in space 15 years later. Absolutely NO ONE wants to go on the record and say the nazis did "some" good things, bland yet millions of americans bought volkswagens and didn't think twice.

By the way Hitler had a whole fleet of cars, including a VW Beetle, a Mercedes convertible sports car with a Lalique crystal eagle bonnet (hood) cover; the only comparison is with the Queen of England, and it's highly unikely she knows how many or which cars she has, they just appear. At least Hitler was elected, and at least Hitler wasn't German, unlike her, and at least Hitler had a laugh every day....Only little people care about cars. And cars aren't inherent;y evil. Not even Toyota.
