The new member of the cows family is here! Lily the Jersey hafer just turned 2 years old and gave birth all alone this little fella. I found them snuggling in the tall grass, what a blessing, I love uneventful calvings specially for a first timer. I did not give her any grain towards the end of her pregnancy as I didn’t want to make the calf too large for her to have an easy calving. It payed up. Now I can fatten her up and make sure she doesn’t loose too much weight during the lactation. Thank you Lily!
