Adorable Friendship Between a 3-year-old and the Garbage Man 

This man deserves a gold medal. He loves life and his job. Respect.

When they hugged... I lost it. This is what life is supposed to be. Love each other, people, for no other reason than we all deserve it.

Unsung heroes. I was jogging one morning in my suburban Chicago neighborhood when I saw that someone’s trashcan had overturned, and 100’s of pieces of trash were all over the lawn and street. When I came back 20 mins. later, the garbage team had been there, and the lawn and street were spotless. They could have just taken what was left in the can and left all the debris, but they took the time to pick up every single piece of the mess on the street. Hard workers, and a huge part of what makes a community work.

I'm late, but my phone has been autoplaying all these videos of garbagemen with kind hearts I hope garbagemen everywhere know that they have respectable, wholesome jobs that quite literally make their communities a better place to live in. No garbageman should ever feel ashamed of their jobs when there are people out their who do truly vile things to make a living

Had something like this happen to me when training as an electrician, this little boy was just in awe of us and taking pictures of everything we were doing and all the wires. It was cute.

In Australia we used to have a tradition, every xmas everyone would leave a few bottles of beer on top of our rubbish bins for the garbo's as a show of appreciation for them. Sadly it couldn't happen now as our society isn't like that anymore, different times.

Our garbage man has to walk up a 30 foot driveway to get to the garbage and he always has a smile and a wave for us anyway. Do they do "community relations" classes at the company? Lol By the way, he can't drive the truck up the driveway because the county refuses to come and lift the power lines up four whole feet, despite our many requests on behalf of our great garbage service and other delivery van companies. The garbage guys are always smiling, too. Garbage guys: sweethearts. County guys: complete assholes. That's why I buy the two of them lunch every now and again when I'm around and have a spare $20.

That's so cool.. I had a bad experience with the trash man when I was a kid.. it started out with me sleep walking and telling my dad that the trash man was going to take my bicycle.. that next day when I woke up my dad was laughing at me about me sleep walking and when I went outside to check my bike was gone.. I had left my bike that night up against the house and it was nowhere near the trash can.. anyway my dad and I got in the car and went riding around to find the trash man.. Yep! They had my bicycle tied to the side of the truck... True story.. I was like 8 years old at the time.
