That's why a lot of journalists suck. Most really don't have much passion for or knowledge of the things they cover. A lot of people say "Those who can't do, teach", but that's a ridiculous saying. Some teachers "can't" but most teachers absolutely can. Lots of former professionals move to teaching because they have a passion for teaching and just wanted a change of pace. I personally think the saying should be "Those can't do get into journalism."

Showtime Lakers 2.0 True. No sane person would call Nadal the greatest of all time at the moment. The gap of four majors is just too big. Had Nadal won the Australian Open he would have a double career Grand Slam and be at 16 majors against Federers 18. That would have been enough for Nadal to be called the greatest in my opinion.

Maybe, but I agree with SITG that Serena is the G.O.A.T. I'm doubtful that any single individual has been as impactful as her upon the sport. Women's tennis is much more dynamic and powerful than it was when she began her career, & I feel a big part of that is her influence.

Nick Knight Yeah maybe. But isn't men's game more physical now than before? Faster serves, harder forehands and grinding baseline play? There was no Serena in men's game. Also when it comes to impact, there are many a people I know who don't follow the game but follow Federer. Or people who started following Tennis after a fed-rafa match. (Me after 2007 Wimbledon, most my friends after 2008 Wimbledon).

This guy openned the Golden Era of tennis. Not only for his competence, but also for his elegance, personality and sportsmanship. Most loved player in the ATP tour by the fans & the players. Tennis would not have been the same without this man. It is a well known fact that he is not the Greatest, actually not even the second greatest in terms of competetiveness, but he will always be the true symbol of tennis.

This is why Federes is class act pure humble gentleman, when kid asked him about "The GOAT" he's response "i don't know some fans call me like that". So he didn't explain and mentioned it means Greatest of all times, that piece shows how much respect he have for other players. And kid is mad cute! Kudos to Federer such a amazing athlete, my favourite of all time with Goran Ivanisevic.
