My favourite cat of all time was a brown Tabby. I think they're just built differently. Not necessarily the brightest, but certainly the silliest 🤗

There are multiple compartments to those cages, you can see the little porthole to the right of the main cage where it leads to the center part that is see-through. These types of cages are common in vet offices that offer longer term care. You can open the portholes to make the cage bigger vertically (usually for cats over 6-8mo) or horizontally (for kitties with mobility issues, older cats, and nursing moms). Mama’s litter box is likely one more cage over from the middle section, as it could be dangerous for such tiny kittens to be around it before they’re old enough to learn to use it. Her food/water dishes are probably also elsewhere to keep the babies from choking on her food or drowning in water. While it is a bit cramped, it is only temporary until the kittens are weened off of their mom. But even if she wasn’t in a cage, be it outside or in a home, mama would still stay very close to her babies and only leaving for food, water, and litter box. Mama cats actually really love feeding their babies, it’s been shown to release oxytocin (aka the “love hormone”) so it’s not a terrible experience for her. I worked with cat rescue for many years and have seen a lot of mama cats, the one in this video is definitely well taken care of and very happy
