I've always loved spiders. I've had 2 tarantulas and one jumping spider. I don't like cockroaches, but I hope someone in the world loves them as much as I love spiders.
I used to be deathly afraid of spiders until I faced my fear by letting a tarantula crawl on my arm and honestly they are cute even though they are gigantic
Yeah, I hate the 🕸️ more than the actual 🕷️. I don't hate 🕷️ s, they just scare me bc we have brown recluse here in Texas and I'm PETRIFIED OF THEM!! Taruntulas are pretty cute tho!

Not sure why he's playing with this animal. Watchmojo did a whole video video on adorable animals that are actually dangerous. I'm sure this tiny spider fits into that category. It will eventually bite him, if it hasn't already.
I worked on wind turbines and these could be found all over the place, I'd pick one up from time to time, never once was I bitten, we would call them tower guardians.

Yes spiders really are cool. Just don't think you can do this with any spider.😂 I had a tarantula we basically showed how to do this. She was really cool. And we taught her to spell her name! They really are smart!😊

@@larakoch2156 fun fact, it's also called a tarsus.. they have claws attached to their paws (tarsus) And they use them as their ears and nose picking up changes around them.
Jumping spiders are actually pretty smart for their size and being a bug and all. Remember when I was a kids I would always find baby jumping spiders and tame them. Gr8 pets.
Maybe. Jumping spiders are different. They actively hunt their prey, more like wolves, while most other spiders rely on instinctual snares and so they don’t need to be half as intelligent as a jumping spider does.

and realize that if they were as big as dog they would definitely consider us pray and maybe have a need to chase bike like in the movie eight legged freaks
@@CommanderM117 It might be, but it's fascinating to see that there were cases where jumping spiders actually ran away to humans to protect them from predators like birds. I don't know if they'd be as friendly if they were bigger, but they're definitely some of the most intelligent creatures on earth, especially compared to other spiders.
Jumping spiders are mainly the only kind of spider that I like, they're diff than other kinds of spiders and apparently will also sometimes kill/eat other spiders I think i read before xD.
Do spiders actually experience love? Not maternal instinct to breed and protect young, but actual love? It's something I suppose we will never really know.
@@ilavazquez293 Well, the males are, but the females aren't so friendly. The female's lair is usually littered with the corpses of males that haven't been up to scratch, and even the dead bodies of the males that HAVE managed to mate with the females! The males have to dance for the females and "mesmerise" her enough to put her into a sort of trance. Then, if he succeeds, they get it on!!! It's amazing to see, all the males do different dances and, if the female isn't impressed, he steps up the dance. But yeah, even if they DO MATE, she still eats him. The biological reason for this is that after she is pregnant, she can't go and hunt for food, so she eats him to give herself a big protein boost! Poor guys.

You can identify if jumping spiders are male or female depending on their size and color. Females are dull in color and a lot bigger than the males. Males are a lot smaller with very bright coloring, peacock jumping spider males in particular have "plumage" that they can lift up over their back like a peacock does. Hence the name.

Jumping spiders are great. I think the reason it doesn't trigger arachnophobia is because they move and act much different than most spiders. They're more curious and emote more than pretty much any other type of spider.
I like jumping spiders...they leave us alone and eat all the bugs by jumping on them.... I've handled a few before and found them cute the way they look at you.....all the rest of the spider species are too fast and freaky 😂
Right?!! But they really are adorable. I love the teeny, tiny ones that you find hanging around the drain in the bathtub. I always feel so bad when I accidentally wash one down the drain.😢

태선우TaeSunWoo Go ahead and love the jumpers. They rarely bite and when they do you don’t even notice it. Maybe a tiny itchy bump that goes away in a few minutes. Been playing with these since I was a kid. I’m 43 now and still do. So it’s ok. You can love it. 😊
These are the best spiders, they often live on the eves of houses and when I am painting they follow me around watching what I'm doing and just chilling, they have no aggression at all, they are just curious and friendly.
They're all over the place in the US. I live in California and they hang out with me a bunch. This looks like a relatively common one out here. There's a rarer one colored mostly black with lighter spots or bands called a Bold Jumping Spider which is larger and even more friendly. I had one that lived in my backyard for an entire summer and if I spent any time outside, like when reading or doing yard work, it would eventually find me and just hang out.
I wish there were larger ones in East Tennessee. In Rockford, IL, we had an extended family of them who lived in our back stairs to outside, pinky tip sized, but where I am now, I've only seen a couple, and they are no larger than perhaps the tip of a pen plunger, very easy to miss.
YAY!!! I grew up w that being a house rule. We had neighbors that had a flea infestation that lasted for ages. We asked if their pets had them. They didn’t have pets. But, the wife was so OCD, she swept and mopped constantly and her pest control sprayed the inside and outside of her house every 3 mos. My gram said they should stop spraying for a cycle or two, and try not to destroy webs or tiny indoor spiders. Within 6 mos. no more fleas.
Sadly I hardly get any jumpers in my home. Happily I DO get lots of wolf spiders! 😍 I like to coax them into a paper cup & add a tiny bit of water & watch them take a loooooong drink ☺. They're always very thirsty. Then if it's not freezing out I release them outside 💕
Jumping spider are recorded to be the smartest arachnids. And for some reason whenever I see one I would watch it and I don't know if they could comprehend human figure and seems that they can look at your face.
No need to be terrified of spiders,unless you live in Australia. They are so tiny, it's the spiders that are terrified of us gigantic humanoids. I enjoy watching these creatures go about their business,they are a marvel of nature . Be kind to them.
@@waterbird91 I use to live on the East Coast of the USA. We had very large spiders called wolf Spiders. They would jump on you & scar you to death! They could also bite & contained venom. I had terrible-reactions to them. ✨. Thanks for the information you sent me.

Your statement reminds me of those videos where the dad HATES small dogs and refuses to get one. Then it's dad who's carrying the small dog around and baby-ing it. I just got my first jumping spider because I saw this video a while ago. And I'm terrified of spiders.

YES! I have had so many friendly jumping spiders hop right on my hand. German studies show that jumping spiders can solve logic problems and make intelligent decisions. They are so special. :-)
ivn020 While I'm not aware of other studies, I would guess that any spider that hunts rather than spins webs would be creative. I have seen smart brown recluse spiders here (Southern Illinois) and I routinely take them outside, despite people being so scared of them.

My pet tarantula, Carmen was a sweet friend. She'd sleep on my arm while I worked. She was soft and gentle. Even when she shed her skin every few months, she was never mean or cranky with me. Kindness is everything. Carmen was like a hamster, with 4 extra legs. RIP Carmen
When I got to my first duty station back in 2012 I was lonely, scared, and worried about my future. The first night in my barracks room I found a little jumping spider that would hang out by my window. It became my little friend. It knew that if I opened the window to let it out that I wouldn't close the window until it came back in. When I would come home from work my little buddy would be waiting by the window for me. It never let me hold it or anything, but we would kind of sit and stare at each other and it was good vibes. I miss that little fella.
Despite being terrified of spiders; this was wholesome and heartwarming. 10/10. Still not inclined to own a spider, still will run screaming out of a room, where one is located. 🤣
Why tho? I understand a fear of heights (you fall, youre effed) but all you need to relocate a spider is a see-through plastic cup, a piece of paper, and a gentle hand

Spiders have Scopulae or "Claw tufts", which are basically paws. They look the same, just really small and serve the same purpose. Its the only part of a spider that looks cute up close, except Jumping spiders.
Well unlike other spiders like Black Widow or any other Silk waving Spiders......Jumping Sider have higher intelligence and they are not aggressive towards human and they are cute...
