This is her band. They didn't hire her she hired them. Also they are not on the CD and didn't create any of the material. All the instruments are played by Fredrik Folkare on the CD. Fredrik and Tave worked together to create this. Everybody likes different things in vocals I find the vocals refreshing and enjoy the whole CD. Just wanted to point out that the band was hired by her and this is her band.
This sounds a bit like Britney Spears has gone heavy metal, now thats not a bad thing. Wish she would. But, this sounds so much like Britney. Just wait for the "ooh baby baby" bit.
Blind Lemon Lipschitz No need to be upset or white knight the issue; artists who upload their music know - or should know - to expect criticism of their work. And as many posters here subjectively agree, her voice is far from "perfectly fine." And as I stated previously, Lzzy Hale's style would have done far better justice to this particular song - do you disagree?
Any of you ever hold Brian Johnson or Udo to these kinds of standards? If she doesn't have a voice for music, those motherfuckers definitely don't! But she's a girl, right? Higher standards for girls.
Brian Johnson etc have unique voices that suit their music well though, i think people are wincing at this singer's voice because she has a very nasal sounding voice and it has no grace to it, like she's just forcing out notes with no control. I would be willing to bet money she sounds nothing like this live. Just seems to me like another band got a female front because she's hot and not because she compliments the band musically.
Yeah, whoever has heard of Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Doro Pesch, Angela Gossow, Alicia Vigil, Amy Lee, Sharon den Adel, Tarja Turunen, Anette Olzon, Floor Jansen, Anneke van Giersbergen, and the bands Heart and Girlschool?
Actually I think the vocals fit very well with this band. Obviously sex sells, but she has some chops and live this band looks well rehearsed. with the right exposure they could go very far especially in the states.
I dont know if the Bands actually check in on their Videos here, but lets assume that for now. First, @Tawe, you are still stunningly beautiful. ;) But since its about the music, a few things that somewhat felt not right. The Video background, whoever thought putting a white background there, maybe has bad eyesight or no feeling for colors. Not to mention that it was soo boring to only have a white background, but the problem was that Tawe's blonde hair totally didnt fit to it, since the white and the blonde were too bright as in going together well. The other guys with their darker hair were not the problem, but the bright blond haircolor with the white background really was a bad idea. Musically the last album (and yes, I only know that song here from the new one & not the rest), has a much better AOR feeling to it. I think the new sound here was not what I remembered about AR. Sure, Bands change their style and sound, and thats all well and good, but I of course can only talk about my taste. Let me put it like that. The song "CHANGE" rocked far more than this one, even with all the Hard-Rock style of guitar shredding. If the Video director is watching, please, if you make another video, please make it more interesting as for the background. Also try with different settings, like in the other Video, not just in front of the same background in one room. Just an idea. ;) You guys still do great music, just felt like it used to be greater before. And all that barbie voice comments I dont really care about, she has that voice, so what ? I like it. And besides, if you guys decide to go and become a singer, and you have a somewhat shrieky voice, do you stop doing it just because someone could say that the voice is not gonna fit ? For sure not. So to all the critics out there, do it better. Thats all i can say.
If Carlsberg did rock music, it would probably sound like this.. Even with a Britney Spears soundalike too.. Ya gotta agree, britney spears voice and even dance around style like britney... Not that thats a bad thing in some ways (eye candy) but bring on more Doro, Beyond the black and Kobra and the lotus, now those ladies can sing metal.
I feel sorry for her. Nah, really. She clearly has her heart in the right place (she's a metalhead- that's worth something in my books) but, you'd think by this time (album #2) the band would realize, it's time to make the change after all the slack she gets for her vocals. There's only so far a hot girl will take a rock band these days, if her vocals don't fit the music. I'm all over the place with my tastes- from westcoast AOR to brutal death metal, and all in between- so I can appreciate every type of vocal in rock/AOR/metal music... but this girl, just can't hack it. And the reviews (at least those written sans hardon) reach the same consensus. I really want to like these guys- I respect any band playing melodic hard rock these days but... these guys are bound to fail, unless they get a decent singer. Consensus after watching the video: I want my click back.
So let me get this straight.. A band that gets to record and release professionally made albums on a fairly big label should just pack their stuff and give up because a few middle aged men on the internet didn't like their new single? Ah yes, this is what passes for an 'intelligent' response these days: pull shit out of the air, and respond to points the original comment didn't make. Where did I write the band should 'pack their stuff and give up'? Those are your words, not mine. I simply stated they ought to present fans with ear-bait, rather than eye-bait. They're musicians afterall. You want to impress people with eye candy, open up a strip joint. You want to impress people with great music- find a great singer. But I get it- this is the same thing that sells millions in mainstream music (Britney, Rihanna, etc). You get a boner, and suddenly, 'she's incredible'. I get it. If my dong had ears, I have a feeling I too would be a fan. But, try to look past her appearance, and actually 'listen'. As for my 'opinion', I'd say it is relevant: afterall, I am their target audience. I'm a rocker, who loves this music and has for years. Add to that, I'm also a promoter (operating mostly out of Tokyo, Japan). So I assure you, my opinion matters a great deal. Next time you respond to a comment, I suggest in the very least addressing what was actually stated, not what you 'think' was stated. Leave that to the Trumpkins.
Ain`t a bad singing, however this doesnt hold much of any originality and any message. Emotionally this is on the low side as well - even to the point of the modern US pop. Can`t pass by the "catchy" phrase of Isla Bonita and lots of songs , used again and again. Sorry I dont trust in what Ive seen and heard here, not catched me.

Is it just me or does she sound a little like Stevie Nicks in Fleetwood Mac? I'm not sure if she fits the music either. Not a bad singer but it's a weird mesh with her vocal style. Music is decent though.
