Considering his cars can make even mid-pack drivers like Perez into race winners, and great drivers like Seb and Max multiple dominant world champions, I would argue his worth to any team is greater than any driver.
How? he doesnt make a car... Honda and Renault were equally as important as aero and Newey does not design by himself. He is brilliant but others have beaten him in design before... Rory Byrne destroyed him when they went head to head with the most powerful teams and budgets.
@@kondjanegongo796 Byrne is retired AFAIK. Moot point. Aero is the most important individual part of car performance, period. More than engines, electronic controls, even driver skill sadly. Newey is the unquestioned master of aero. A few of his competitors have a good year or two, Newey has shown within a couple of years of him joining a team they are winning championships. No other person in his position can claim that.
@@kondjanegongo796and tyre wars and Michael’s bespoke tires, and endless testing at Fiorano and Mugello and etc etc etc…among other factors to consider.
@@Enzoblueblood There are now reports - with the story originating in Germany's Auto Motor und Sport and backed up by the BBC - that Newey has informed Red Bull of his intention to leave. However, when approached by The Race, a Red Bull spokesperson said: "Adrian is contracted until at least the end of 2025 and we are unaware of him joining any other team." Everything is a bulls*it
Even I had a similar mindset when Lewis’ move to Ferrari was all over the media….and let me tell you when all media outlets report the same thing, chances are it’s true.
Of all the teams being earmarked for him to love to, I'm genuinely surprised few have mentioned Mercedes. They don't look like his cup of tea, bbut anything is possible
I love all these people who think he’ll just be able to leave RedBull and instantly design Aston or Ferrari’s 2026 challenger. 😂 Contact lengths, gardening leave and the lead time for designing a car for the new regs just don’t factor into these fan’s thinking at all. 🤦♂️
What about Mercedes tho? I know Newey isn't much of a cash person but it's possible that Toto pushed really hard to get Adrian to the team to convince Max to join
More Rumours: this story dropped to take d heat of Lance Stroll, allowed by Daddy Stroll. Aston Martin HONDA to sign Newey & Max Verstappen to take Lances seat. 😊
IIRC the Hamilton announcement leaked, and was therefor slated in to be announced at another time in the future. Could it be that Newey was already leaving RBR for Ferrari and they hoped to announce both, or more, at some great reveal at a later date?
Isn't it clear he will go to Aston after what Alonso said? Why would Alonso sign if he didn't know Newey was heading there. These presenters seem clueless to the context of what Alonso said.
And his xmas job interview hasn't been speculated on much. Reporters just want scandal so wilk talk about Horner and bad environment when there are so many positives in a move to AM or Ferrari with Hammer or Alonso
As a huge RedBull fan this is sad but looking forward to newey’s new team and see how they do with the greatest engineer in F1. He prob going to ferrari 🥹
Aston Martin makes sense as they are switching to the PU to Honda. I can't see Adrian leaving for Ferrari. He seems like the kind of guy that wants to stay close to home in Britain. So Merc or Aston are the only viable options in my opinion. I do think Newey gets too much credit for RBs current success. Pierre has been in the lead they l;ast years.
Not too much. Wache dealt with the rb19 and the rb20. Newey head, wache is the master with these last 2 cars. Thats fact. Newey is either gojng to aston with max. Or retiring
What happens to Red Bull? They crash. Hard. Like every other team that Newey left. Maybe they win another title with the car that Newey lead most of the development of, but then they'll never be champions again.

Why do you assume Adrian wants to stay in F1? He's expressed before that he wants to do other things, I imagine this is it for him. Talking him and people working with him will follow him to another team. lol
Funny that nobody even thinks about him going to Mercedes. They are wuite clearly stumped by the new regulation cars... So why not get someone that understands them clearly? Maybe even reunited with Max?
Well, I learned nothing new from those two. I think I'll have to wait for some real news over the next few days, I can do the pure speculation just as well myself.
Can you imagine him going to Aston Martin only to have Lance Stroll absolutely waste the potential of that car 99% of the time? What self-respecting person would want to build a car for that dumpster fire? Sure, you're building a car for Alonso at the moment, but we all know that unfortunately Lance is there for life, so...
which engineer would want to be with alonso the toxic washed driver when theres two better drivers at ferrrari in 2025, the richest team in f1 with a better overall team
Max will follow Honda to Aston Martin, taking Adrian Newey and Helmut Marko with him!! What a combination, Max and Fernando, as Lance had its last chance this year!
If newey leaves… max wont win anymore championships. Thats pretty much what will happen. If newey retires then hopefully there will be more competitive racing and no more dominant stretches of the same guy winning races over and over again.
That's not how contract work especially if you are worth a billion. The guy is a billionaire family now he has lawyers who can make anything happen and it takes years for lawsuit and in the mean time he can continue work at Ferrari
From.1 Wentworth to another could the backing of.the wealthiest company in the world in Aramcos trillions with Aston Martin & Honda be enough to stop him joining Ferrari, Aston Martin with Aramcos money could pay into the 10s of millions to get him immediately instead of Gardening leave as that must be what Red bull.will demand, what good For Aston & Ferrari.having to.wait until 2027.
Clearly Aston as they'll have Honda Engines and Newey will have seen both RB and Hondas programs and decided logically which is the winning one of those 2. Equally Ferrari have always been slow to start in new regs due to engine underperformance, so maybe a gamble if past form is still indicative
It may take a season or two to really slip back through the pecking order, and no doubt they will hire the very best the can find not named Newey to replace him, but the dominance would be over.
@FunkyMonk6 Of course there are other ways to win, respectively other fine engineers. But Newey will be missed at Red Bull and I doubt they'll find a 1:1 replacement for him soon.
😂😂😂 wrong. Newey is only part time at RBR. There’s a full crew designing the car… RBR will simple go on. They already have the best like Wache, Monaghan, Wheatley… and many at the factory who we don’t see lol Don’t worry, Horner said in 2021 that they were already preparing for Neweys departure at some point in time. The guy is 65…
He doesn’t design the car 😂😂😂 He is one of a team…. He does parts, and has mentored many young engineers and there is a FULL AERO TEAM besides him…. Stop fooling yourself. He is only part time at RBR
The glee both of these presenters are showing demonstrates the bias from this channel. 'The drivers we actually like might get a good car and we can go back to only talking about them again'
I wonder if they realise how many people they turned into fans of other drivers just because of how they fawned over merc and Lewis for 6 years straight. This is why there is such a spit in the fanbase. 2014-20 was a nightmare if you didn't support Lewis. Every session, all they discussed was Lewis. All other drivers were only mentioned in relation to how it impacted Lewis. It felt like watching North Korean tv at times. Then the weekend is over and all the wider British media outlets took up the same approach. Being a fan of another driver almost felt like a rebellious act lmao. If you have the slightest preference for an underdog how could you not prefer non-approved driver to support under those conditions. Then they pushed the idea people didn't like Hamilton because of his melanin count.
@LEE...337 That is not true. I don't know which channel you watched but sky got f1 in 2012 as far as I can remember. How many times was multi-21 and Turkey mentioned in those last few years? They made Seb, Bee loving, Vettel the villain. They also made Nico Rosberg the villain. A guy so meek he had to retire after going against the golden boy. On every story they have been one way. The whole media, all i'm saying as that environment creates fans of other drivers. The Supreme leader isn't all that in my book.
There are quite some choices out there: Ferrari, Aston, Williams or even "Audi". There is no one to blame here other than folks called Helmut, Jos and Adrian (probably in the fair order of sinking RB).
Audi was my first thought when I read this today. VW will not be content to be just another competitor. It will need to make big moves in the team for engineering and drivers. Sainz may be a good choice, unclear if he would be the #1 though. Poaching Newey for a huge salary and technical control would be a real coup for them.
Didn't he have a handnin the Aston Martin Valkeri?? He should move to Aston and help them with their imminent WEC project..... But its still not 100% he's leaving yet.
He's gonna go to Aston, not Ferrari. Especially with the Valykrie racing next year and RBs previously relationship with Aston. Max has no path to a seat at Ferrari in F1 for the near term, unless Max gets bored with F1 and joins Ferrari's WEC project. Newey I'm sure would love to work with Alonso at Aston. Can you imagine Max and Alonso at AM and Stroll going to WEC lol. Crazy times especially with new F1 regs around the corner and what is a new golden age for sports car/endurance racing aince Group C.
😂😂 geez you clearly don’t see the big names RBR has next to Newey… Newey only works part time at RBR. The real job is done by Wache, Monaghan and others in the factory we don’t see, RBR isn’t Newey 😂 stop fooling yourself. Horner said in 2021 already that they were preparing for when Newey will leave….the man is 65
@Redlingstein I'm a highly successful professional Engineer. Don't underestimate my understanding of contributions from the lower ranks. I agree that the guy is from a different era and many others are working extremely effectively. The exodus of talent based on Newey leaving would be, and is incredible. It isn't just about what the man provides technically. However It's about what his name brings to the status and psyche of the team You clearly have zero clue about such things.
