You'll never see this again. You'll never see a running back come back after an injury like that, and perform like that ever again. Never in the history of mankind.
JMT yeah Todd Ripped his shit up in college but He came back over a year later and ran for 1100 yards. AD came back only 8 months later and ran for 2100 yards. big big difference
This video was one of my beginning ones, done three years ago or so. It was removed, and has been down for over a year. I remastered the entire thing, updated all the old grainy footage with HD clips where possible. I expanded the training montage, and the end sequence. I am very happy with this version, hope you are as well.
tage202 at that time I knew we weren’t going anywhere in the playoffs, a lot of people were saying too just hand it too him with whatever time was left lol we wanted that record
As a Bears fan, I must admit that coming back from an acl tear and having the best rushing season in history is nothing short of amazing. I may not always like him running for that purple team up north but I gotta respect the hell out of someone who does something like that
@@beejieamishson122 For whatever reason RU-vid is glitched and won't let me see your whole post. So stats wise AD's is still better overall other than touchdowns? that's your goal? You also have to take into consideration Offensive Line's and Offense in general and the fact that AD single handedly got the Vikings into the playoffs. Everyone knew AD was always going to get the ball, with a horrible OL, because the vikes offense was atrocious and didn't have a quarterback...Unless you did go on to mention other stuff idk because youtube sucks.
@@iamjamesmix Dude it's cool if he is a hero to you or something but chill out. He did come up just short of the best rushing season STATISTICALLY so I don't know why you are flaming.
@@hunter0740 Haha, my first post I was drunk and berated too much I concur. For whatever reason though his reply to me isn't even shown now and like I said youtube wouldn't allow me to see the whole thing. I'm flaming because one cannot possibly believe anyone has had a better rushing season than AD's.
I think he'd be better at safety. Using that speed and strength on receivers, tight ends and backs out of the back field, maybe improve his hands, and he'd be like a faster Kam Chancellor mixed with Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu. Could you imagine that?
@LS House Jim Brown played against bums like Grizzly said and not only that Jim was literally bigger than most linebackers and d lineman were not 100 pounds heavier than running backs like they are today. If Jim Brown played today he'd be just another back.
The only thing that was stopping Adrian Peterson from being the greatest linebacker of all time was that he was already the greatest running back of all time
+Heinriech Himmler maybe he didn't say anything about gostkowski because this was about Adrian Peterson and the Vikings, not the Patriots. How stupid can one person be?
Watching Adrian Peterson literally makes me cry. As an OU fan me and my dad had ONE thing in common and that was watching Oklahoma football and AP get carries. Me and my dad also loved watching the Bears play but when we played Minnesota I couldn’t help bot to root for the Vikings. Rest In Peace dad I miss you
AP was the best "comeback" player ever. EVERYTIME he faced adversity, he responded. That's what I'll always remember. It wasnt just the injury. His "Ok, I'll show you" factor is GOAT.
Greatest football player I’ve ever seen in person. Absolute man amongst boys on every snap. OU legend and NFL Hall of Famer....should have been the first freshman Heisman too.
This is still the greatest comeback season from an injury that I've ever seen. AP was a monster when he was in Minnesota. AP hands down is a hall of famer whenever he decides to hang up the cleats
I remember a sound bite where Saquon was sitting on the bench talking about about “How that’s Adrian Peterson. I used to watch his highlights, the comeback video all the time.”
Different eras...a lot of great ones....im 61 yrs old...ALL DAY consistently punished and humiliated today's bigger, better, faster , stronger players....coaches can use these highlights 45yrs from now and say this is how u do it...the defenses in all these highlights look like their in slow motion....a lot of great RBs in the 60s.70s.80s.90s......most couldn't play today....AD would've rushed for 4000yds in the 70s....and so on....I've seen em all...Sayres.OJ.Payton.Earl....AD is all of them wrapped in 1 person....BO mightve been record holder...only played 4.5 yrs...sad...him and AD same height..weight....killed everyone🤘🤙💪👍🏻
If not this year, next year! The defense is looking solid and the O-line is looking better, w/more time to throw the deep ball and have it covered - AP has more room once the hole's blown open. Fan for almost 50 yrs SKOL VIKES! \@/
My first years of watching football were the early 2010s when Peterson would put the team on our back. And of course being a young Vikings fan who only watched Vikings games, I thought that every team ran the ball all the time. Then I'd boot up Madden 11, play as the Vikings with 98 ovr Adrian Peterson, run HB dive the entire game and blow the Packers out by 60, rinse and repeat. Looking back at these years really shows how impressive the guy was. Peterson is the only guy in the modern era who could put the whole team on his back and lead them to success. and yes, other running backs have been superstars on their team but without Peterson, most of these Vikings teams were gonna be going 3-13 without him. Yet managed to sneak us into the wildcard. There won't be a story like this ever again
@Alexander Jones a lot of people were shocked when he hit 2k off a torn ACL and MCL in week 16 the year prior, and the running game in the NFL isn't what it used to be. I don't think he will, he has slowed down a good bit, but he still has the vision and elusiveness to be top 10.
He changed what we thought was possible with an acl tear. People used to say it takes 18-24 months for a full recover and most guys could never be the same. Now guys are coming back 100% 8-12 months after surgery. He showed what was possible so that others could believe.
When he was playing at Oklahoma, the only time I ever watched Oklahoma Football, I told everyone I know, that this guy is going to be one of the greatest RB's that the NFL has ever seen, I wish as a Saints fan we could have got him in 2007 but we had just drafted Bush and were to far down in the draft, AP is a monster and even though its late in his career Im glad to get to witness him in Black and Gold, hope we can get half of what he was when he came into the league.. If we get more then we are going to be a dangerous team this year!
This is perhaps one of my favorite youtube videos of all time. To see a man run with such determination, purpose and violence at the highest level is the antithesis of how football was supposed to be played. People will forget that he was the benchmark for ACL&MCL recoveries; before AP no one came back that quickly and was that effective EVER. Todays surgery, technology and roadmap to recovery has cleared the path for current players. Football has morphed into an arena-like game due to the suppression of physicality from excessive penalties. My hope is that someone else like All Day comes along and wrecks the nickel package and cover 2.
Correction, he could have been the best of all time. Missing a year for child abuse and another year for a knee injury pretty much killed his GOAT candidacy. He is still a future HOF'er, but somewhere in the top 20 or so, not best ever like he could have been.
I put Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton ahead of him. Peterson is in the next group including Smith, Dickerson, Faulk, Tomlinson, etc., but at that point it comes down to who your personal favorite is. My one caveat is Peterson isn't quite done yet. He could boost his standing with a 1,000 yard season over age 30.
He played when he played. He had 1950's training methods available, he did what he did. Nobody can touch his career average of over 105 rushing yards per game. It is not like a bunch of other running backs did that at that time. He was 30 years ahead of everyone else.
my favorite video on the internet. its a crime they keep putting it down, however i gotta say i thought the other one was better with thunderstruck and dream on at the end it really pumped me up
He will be back AGAIN. No doubt. He is unlike any running back physically. He will be back 2016-2017 season and we are bringing the super bowl to our house and winning it in our house
Die hard steelers fan here, however....this is my guy, this has always been my favorite player, at a time in my life when i needed motivation i saw a video about him and I stopped feeling sorry for myself and got to work. Watched every game he played after that injury, and just always felt different watching him, a true legend of the game.
I remember watching the Packers game at the end of the year and being in complete awe. They had ZERO offense outside of AD. 8-9 guys in the box. The Packers knew the offense was that bad. And AD just ripped them apart. He's the only guy I can remember watching who was a one-man offense. Barry Sanders was incredible, probably the best, but I never remember watching a guy in the modern age who was literally a one man offense at RB. Defenses could have put the entire team in the box and AD would have found a way. He ran a completely different style from Barry. Violent, ferocious, fearless. Those two guys are the best I've ever seen. But what AD did this season was something otherworldly.
Barry Sanders had amazing speed, agility and vision and was one of the greatest running backs of all time. But I’m sorry, AP had a raw power and second gear that will never be replicated. You can see it in his stride when he does this. He was like a Barry Sanders - Bo Jackson hybrid. I’ve never seen anyone run with that much power. He ran like a locomotive. This video shows the caliber of athlete he was coming back from injury like that and that quickly.
Adrian Peterson is such a inspiration! I have watched this many times after my knee surgery and he is such a soldier! Coming back stronger thanks to him. Adrian is one of the greatest men and football players to have lived 💪!
I told my cousin that this is the greatest running back I'd ever seen as it was happening. And showed him this video, because it was this season. Thank you.
My all time favorite video of yours man . I’ve had injuries all my high school career and this video has always been my go to to lift my spirits. Truly Unbreakable . Thank you Joe💯
Records are based not just on the individual, but on the team they have around them.. I'm not a Vikings fan (not against them either), but AP is the best RB ever.. I love Emmit Smith, Eddie Gorge, L.T., etc... but NO ONE has performed as well as AP... based on super bowls, records, whatever.. it doesn't matter... based on skill NO ONE is as great as AP
What? You must not have watched football in the nineties, Barry Sanders ring any bells? Touted as the Most elusive back to play the sport and has two 2000 yard seasons, an MVP and all ten years he played he was a pro bowler. Never once dipped under 1000 yards a season. He's the greatest player in the league who never earned a ring, and he deserved one.
+Andy Gomez Honestly, I don't know. I'm gaining about the same amount every day which is a few hundred. So at this point I'll crack 100k soon but I won't go much higher for a long time unless something changes.
I consider Ap the Best running back of all time in that he has to play in pass centic league and modern defenses unlike all the other all time greats like Jim brown, Barry sanders and Walter Payton that played in a time where running the ball was easier and teams relied more on their running backs
As a Vikes fan I loved watching him play. To come back the way he did after the knee injury, win the MVP, one of the greatest things I have seen in sports.
I thought there used to be a part where the announcers say "Carry your team, Adrian, CARRY THEM RIGHT INTO THE PLAYOFFS!" Which was my favorite part, gets me hyped every time! WHERE DID IT GO!!!!?
I have been a Viking fan since I was 10 years old today IN 2020 I am 62 you do the math, normally when a player leaves the Vikings I say so long, but in this case Adrian Peterson will always be a Viking in my mind for as long as I live.....Skol 4 ever AD-AP.
best rb of all time zero arguments to be made, this man had like 2 1000 yard seasons on new teams in his thirties, his injury while didnt ruin his career stunted a year that could have been his best. stats dont dictate how different ap was
