Wonderful and mellow bass. I love it. Highs of Brauns hear some harsh as compared with B&W, but it is still good as it is character. Brauns have good match with tubes as I experienced. Thanks.
I just bought a set of these in 9.5/10 condition as they look like they came out of the showroom floor . I have the same problem as you though as I dont have the stands , I may try your trick 😉.
Do you happen to have any more videos of these models playing a variety of music? It would be great to see/ hear some samples posted online, as there is very limited info/ sampling of speakers like these.
Hi Thank you for reaching out. I do have a couple more sample recordings of these speakers. I will do my best to upload them over the weekend. However, I no longer have the 810's. l enjoyed the ADS sound and I might move up higher in the speaker lineup in the future.
I have a pair of these also. I play all types of music on them. The bass is tight and the mids sound like no other highs are just right. After hearing him playing Nora I had to see how it sounded on my system. Sounded amazing. Currently have them connected to NAD pe. Recieved. Turned on some 70's funk and they can hit some nice volume too. I like my music loud on certain music and they can def rock. Motivated me to turn on my carver 15t w Magnepans. 😒 it was too soon. My ears we're accustomed to the ads and felt like I was missing all the highs. Took a while to adjust. I gotta say out of all my speakers these always remind me why they are one of my favorites. Says alot since I can't ever get rid of any speakers. To me they all have a different sound and I like all for different reasons. Also explains why I'm single too. Too many speakers. Big ones too. Its a great addiction
These speakers will play any type of music well . The mids and tweets are what make A/D/S speakers unique as nothing else exists that's similar as Braun was simply a genius . You'll also be pleasantly surprised by the 8 inch drivers that drop lower than most 12 inch drivers . They sound like 15's at times as they drop that low . They're also fairly small and unassuming especially using them for the first time as they will literally surprise and blow you away . The bass can be a bit punchy , but placing them up as this person did alleviates it as these speakers do not like being on a floor . A speaker like this in modern times with this build quality would fetch about $5000+ per pair .
@@johnnygeeful That's exactly why I keep so many different speakers at any given time; they all have a different sound, and I find enjoyment in lots of them. I have a very hard time selling at time, but I always tell myself 'there will always be more to come'. :)
A/D/S were well known to have the best Mids/Tweeters on the market during this time period and I'd almost wager they still are as long as the crossovers are in good condition . You'd have to spend in excess of $4,000+ to find a brand new modern speaker to compete with these . Braun was a genius sound engineer for sure .
I have not heard the S910 but I am familiar with the HPM60/100 and the "West Coast sound". It will depend on what type of music you listen and what amplifier you have. The pioneers are fun and great speakers for rock and loud music, and are easier to drive by most amplifiers. The L810 are the better speakers they will sound good with any music and source. They will outshine the pioneers in most areas except bass. They are a bit tricky with the bass because the 2 x 8" woofers can sound "boomy" at times. In my room the pioneers had better bass control, the ADS had to be raised above the floor. The ADS L810 are 6ohms and they are better suited for amplifiers that are rated for 4ohms. I sold both the HPM60 and the ADS L810. They both have a fallowing for different reasons and will hold their value if they take care of them, but I miss the ADS :) the mid-range and top end is head above the pioneers. good luck
