We all do silly things, but it's how we deal with it. We can get up and over it, or dwell on it for too long and create a brain fog. I am usually in the later camp, wondering how I could have done something differently, if only I could go back and redo it etc...
But sometimes, just sometimes, I afford myself the luxury and accept it was something ridiculous and laugh at myself and what happened.
This is up there as one of the most stupid things I've done, easily...

“Why would you keep yourself out of your own joke”. I laughed so hard. I am my fav joke material as well Paul. Loved the story time, and I think you were spot on to make that call, if you didn’t it would have kept you awake wondering if you did wrong. You didn’t. The only wrong was the police officer making you feel bad. I was trying to think of my own... too many to choose from. Ok, I’m a bit shy but when I was a young lady I was invited on a boating excursion to an island. When the boat beached all embarked to the beach for volleyball. I hung back on the boat because I didn’t want to play and waited for everyone to not mind me to jump from the boat. To my dismay I decided to slide off the front of the boat onto the sand not realizing my swimsuit would catch the rope cleat on the bow of the boat when I jumped. It caught my suit leaving me trapped hanging upside down on the bow of the boat with no one knowing I was unable to unhitch myself from my predicament. I finally had to yell for help and alert the volleyball players to get down. All I could do was laugh along with everyone else because it was just funny. Cheers!

My funniest story was going to a big grocery store (shopping market) because I had been having a rare constipation issue. It was late at night. I found a little box of medicines which said “Laxatives” bodily on the box. It was going to be the only item I purchased when I noticed that toilet paper was on sale. The store was offering the world’s largest container of this bathroom paper for a super low price so I got it. Now picture you’re the sales clerk and the conveyer belt is rolling 1 tiny box of laxatives and 1 gigantic thing of toilet paper and nothing else. Look’s like someone has very big plans, right? It’s 12:00 am in the morning on a Friday night. I was laughing at myself for certain.

I did something similar recently! We have an alley that runs behind our house. It's an unpaved alley with grass and weeds growing in it. I go out in the backyard and i see a pile of stuff laying on the ground in the alley, some trash bags and a tarp. The tarp looks like it's covering a body! It was the middle of the day, about 90°F and humid. I just couldn't imagine someone asleep under there in the heat. So i stood there for the longest time watching the tarp for some kind of movement. And there was none. I'm thinking to myself i'm not touching that to see if the person is alright. They're probably dead, someone probably dumped the body with the trash so nobody would notice and i don't want my finger prints on any of it. So after standing there sweating in the heat for i don't know how long i go back in the house and tell my wife about it. And i tell her i'm calling the police because there's no way i'm touching it to see if they are alive or dead! The police come, the officer slowly walks over while putting on the gloves then lifts the tarp. Only to find nobody and no body! Turns out it was some homeless persons stuff they had stashed in the alley. I'm not sure if the officers were upset or if the had a good laugh at my expense. But i can totally relate! The invisible spaghetti had me rolling! I will never be able to look at another person pouting in a picture the same way again! Ha Ha Ha! Maybe you could one up the artist that did the invisible sculpture by standing in a vacant lot charging people to eat invisible spaghetti in an invisible restaurant! Ha Ha Ha! I thought the video about pride was good. You did well! Nothing there for anyone to hate in my opinion. Unless they were just haters. Still smiling!
@AdultwithAutism
@AdultwithAutism 3 года назад
Haha, brilliant! Very similar situation. Reading that, I felt as bad as I did when I was back then in the moment! I don't know what I am suppose to take away from a pouting picture. I was always told to 'smile' when I was a kid, not attempt to seduce the photographer! But it is just invisible spaghetti eating really as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I'll sell invisible spaghetti to the pouters on the pretense it makes you look cooler in your pics! Thanks Joseph.

@@AdultwithAutism around here it’s called duck face. I attribute it to society’s sexualization of females to the point they are brainwashed by the patriarchy to believe they aren’t of value unless they are sexually desirable.

Farts are super funny! I have cracked up at them in the worst places possible! My partner and I crack up all of the time at farts! One of my favorite sitcoms is from the UK Called Miranda staring Miranda Hart and Miranda always repeats fun sounding words over and over and that was the first time I had ever seen anyone else do that. That was my long winded way of saying that I get words stuck in my head all of the time! Even one of the words from the show-plunge! I wish I had a cool story to tell as I have many. I love laughing, and love laughing at my self. Also was cracking up at your story especially you imagining all of the accolades you were going to get! I rescued a humming bird and brought it back to life and my friend happened to film it! I put it on RU-vid and was sure I was going to get a call from Ellen! Like I said before tens of people visit my channel every year!😂 Super fun video! Thanks for the laugh!
@AdultwithAutism

Haha, it's crazy the things that go through your mind in those moments! Going on Ellen to talk of your compassion, shots of members of the audience shedding a tear over your story, getting a free Subaru because a local dealer heard of what you did and wanted to reward you...that'd have been in my head anyway haha.

Always good to have humility, completely agreed. Looking back on my life thus far I can't say I have too many moments I feel really embarrassed or amused by in retrospect. Maybe the one that I think just got out of hand, similar to your situation but nowhere near as bad, would be when the apartment complex I lived in decided to install carbon monoxide detectors in all the units. About 3 days later our detector started going off and we couldn't figure out why. We weren't burning anything, we had a natural gas stove, no generator or anything, nothing that SHOULD be causing carbon monoxide, but this alarm was going off. It was late at night so we called the apartment's emergency maintenance line to ask about it but they had recently changed their phone system and it wasn't going through. So our only option was to call the fire department. They came and checked with their own portable detector, full gear, thankfully approached without sirens but the lights were enough to wake up the entire building. Turned out the detector was faulty and at least 40% of all the detectors they had installed were faulty and a few other neighbors had said theirs was doing the same thing and they just unplugged it. We didn't want to take the chance so we were the only ones that bothered to report it. In the end it was just the apartment's fault for going cheap. I don't regret making the call though. Had it been legitimate a lot of people could've been hurt. But my GF ended up having a lot of anxiety over the whole ordeal so when our lease was up we made sure to move somewhere newer that didn't try to go cheap on their amenities.
@AdultwithAutism
@AdultwithAutism 3 года назад
Hey Remy, definitely did the right thing. The difference between right and wrong in that situation is literally life and death, so right to call them. CO isn't a joke, and far more common and easy to miss without the correct control measures. Typical cheap landlord behaviour, putting cost above the value of life.

This story is hilarious 😂🤣 firstly I thought it's gonna be huge rat, then that it will be a drunk person😂 So a story you reminded me about: when I first arrived to the UK and started school (last term of year 9), I could only speak German, Polish and very basic English (and I mean very basic). We had a virgin media coming in the afternoon to connect the broadband, but the person called me (remember I was going from one classroom to the other) and he said that he is waiting outside the house. So I went to the headteacher to ask if I could leave earlier and she agreed. A couple of days later, the Polish speaking teacher asked me privately, why did I went home earlier the other day, because the headteacher understood that "I have to go home because I am a virgin"😂😂 it wasn't funny at the time as the entire staff knew about it, but now I can't stop laughing at it every single time. Thanks for the video 👍

Cant beat that. But i had a friend who lost his car in the parking lot and called the police and made a statement about his stollen car. Then he blamed his 12 year old daughter because she wanted to go to the store. His car was literally behind a tall truck. Like dude wow. And we dont live in that kind of place. Just 2 days ago I was driving along in a rural area where the radio stations are all bad country music, so instead I decided to shut off the radio and sing cheesy pop songs at the top of my lungs and make stupid noises. It was really fun for me! I feel like a positive part of the autism experience for me is feeling a bit silly and childish (even though I am smart and an actual adult). It's wonderful for anyone to let themselves just be ridiculous and laugh at themselves.
