🕉️🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️ One of the finest assets to us, directly from Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda is Swami Sarvapriyananda. How rare is a being like Him? Extremely so. He exudes all the qualities of a Realised Soul AND He's clearly living, working and teaching in the world as a renunciate Monk. His nickname is RU-vid Swami and He is, arguably, the most popular Monk of the Order in this modern, contemporary world. I am struck by His humility, generosity, compassion, wisdom and joy that is clearly transendant. So, is He a truly realised soul??? His answer to this direct question in this video is very telling. It is in His refusal to answer the question. Beyond gratitude and Pranams to You, dear, beloved Swamiji and to Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother and Swami Vivekananda. With PremAnanda, Swami Markandeya Bharathi Hari Om Hari Om Hari Om Hari Om Hari Om Hari Om HariH Om Tat Sat 🕉️

So thankful to find swami s on your podcast, most pleasant surprise ! His gentleness, humble demeanour, down to earthness, a sly light humour makes him such an engaging teacher (saw the no. of views, many must find him a great teacher too!). It's not easy to go thru your usual 1hr podcasts, but this 2hr can be listened to over & over again ! You are so fortunate to have this easy friendly chat with swamiji, we listeners are thankful also to listen in; feels like a Sunday afternoon chat over coffee with an intelligent & knowledgeable friend so generous to share, it's packed with so so many interesting aspects..... Very grateful indeed guys, swamiji kindof papered over the cracks in the discussion & presentation, lifted it to a different level ; )

The following fixes the "consciousness", "mind", and "Awareness" problem: Awareness is the frame of reference; the Absolute Consciousness is the content of Awareness. It is Awareness of something, whether it be a sensation or a thought (the voice in the head). The Awareness does not require content but the content requires context. Dreamless sleep is and example of Awareness without content. Mind is the voice in consciousness (thoughts). If this language is acceptable between two deliberating parties, some actual progress can be made. In order to come to an obvious, accurate and simple model, as much ambiguity and uncertainty as possible must be removed. This model works to accomplish such 🙏

I adore Swamiji and his profound knowledge. Mr Mukund Raghavan seems to be familiar with our ancient texts although he is a practicing Attorney. Mr Krishna Parthasarathy’s smile although looked like he is sarcastic on our Religious texts, seems to be knowledgeable too. But his over reaction of laughter probably looks sarcastic.

Swami ji it was really fascinating to listen to you about how there were no wars in the name of religion particularly within the various sects of Hinduism or even between Buddhist, Jains ! Swami ji what was Kalinga War for ? Didn't it have any religious connotations ? Didn't the early Buddhist destroy symbols of sanatans ?
@sumitdutta7043

See Kalinga was war for power etc. But what Swami was saying is broadly true. Sometimes religious violence happened m, which are very rare but those were greatly condemned by both the sides.

Thank you for this great conversation which I just opened and I'm already excited about. You begin with such valid questions: the connection between (broadly) Eastern and Western thought which the Swami is invaluable in making, and why the avenue of a monastic life isn't readily open for Westerners. Also, how is it that the Swami has made the choice of a life which may seem "strange" for most. I'm open to many interpretations of life, and I also glimpse at astrology: being Pisces like the Swami, I never felt much attached to the world and aspired to the spiritual. Being celibate and pursuing such avenues seems the only way. I went to University to study Philosophy and graduated with a Master's degree. The course was extensive, but covered predominantly the Western tradition, the Eastern being perused as something exotic. From Swami's lectures I learned about the philosopher Jay Garfield, who makes the point that such an exclusion is the same as, say, women philosophers being excluded. Anyhow, I was expected to pursue an academic career, which I didn't. The only philosopher who really, truly appealed to me, was Bishop Berkeley. I of course admire Plato and find validity in his and Neoplatonic philosophy; however, it is laden with symbolism which I find burdensome. I felt more and more burdened by the whole conceptualism of the curriculum. Only recently did I come across Advaita: I was drawn by Nisargadatta Maharaj, and then discovered the invaluable input of Swami Sarvapriyananda. The first video I came across was a conversation with Donald Hoffman, a rare scientist/philosopher who hits the nail on the head so to speak. Finally more clarity...

Hi, that was a very enjoyable conversation! I like that it's a long one, usually such ones are very short and restricted, and everyone except the speaker is thoroughly confused! If I may suggest, Sri M might be a really good guest to bring on. Very interesting man, who seems to have actually experienced the very pinnacle of Advaitic understanding through his sadhana.

Chit is sarva vyapti, and manifests where there is an appropriate reflecting medium, according to the properties of that medium. The standard way to assess sentience is by the Turing test. Infants and very small children attribute sentience to insentient dolls, etc. without a Turing test. Unwitting and abbreviated Turing tests are a common way to identify sentience.

What do u mean locus of maya, can u elaborate a bit
@obscurealm
@obscurealm 6 месяцев назад
@@himanshudwivedi1313 the "locus of Maya" is where the trick of making the world seem real is thought to happen. The Vivarna school says it's in Brahman, while Bhaamati says it's in Jiva. If it's in Brahman, how can Brahman which is the nature of Knowing be the place of illusion? If it's in Jiva, how can individual beings originate when Brahman, without ignorance, is the ultimate source? This is the enquiry about where the illusion of the world comes from.
