Fichten haben wir einige gemacht während der Tests. Für die Douglasie haben wir eine eigene Maschine in Entwicklung, bei kleineren Douglasien (BHD < 20 cm) funktioniert die PATAS aber auch.

We haven't tested in Ireland, but German spruce of 10 to 12 m is a standard for the machine, no problem! Want to start selling the machines by January 2019.

Die Antriebsriemen aus Gummi haben einen Druck von unter 300 g/cm² und die Maschine verbleibt ja weniger als eine Minute am Baum. Wir benötigen ca. 8 Sekunden für 12 Meter hoch inklusive wieder herunter. Die Anordnung der Messer ist patentiert und es liegen Erfahrungswerte eines Familienbetriebs zugrunde, der viele Jahre damit schon gearbeitet hatte. Insofern: Es entstehen tatsächlich keine Verletzungen!

Man sieht doch im Video, wie die Rinde nur so davon fliegt. Haben Sie da Detailfotos von dem Baum nach dem Verfahren?

Das sind nur lose, trockene Rindenteile, die auch vom Wind irgendwann wegfallen würden

If you want to generate value wood, high end timber for example for furniture production, you want timber w/o knotholes. To gain this, you cut the (dead) branches and just leave the upper ones growing. So the tree grows in width / diameter but without developing knotholes. There is really NO delimbing in Canada?

No, this is just dry stuff that would also fall of in a storm. It does NOT harm the bark!

No, it doesn't, although it looks like that a bit. There are some dry particles flying around that would also get lost in case of a storm for example. No part of the tree is really harmed during the work with PATAS!

„Delimbing“ is done when you want to improve the quality of the timber later to be harvested. Cutting the branches off lets the tree grow in width without knotholes. The ones working with timber know about that, so we need not explain especially for them. The ones not knowing about generating proper timber are not our target audience. Hope that helped a bit.

Delimbing is usually done AFTER the felling process

Die KS 31 von Fichtel und Sachs arbeitete nach einem komplett anderen Prinzip, insofern nicht wirklich „sowas ähnliches“. Das Interesse was uns bekundet wird ist ebenso groß und steigend...

Regarding „foot caught in the line“: RTFM ;-) Of course you have to take care, like with many ag or forest machines... Regarding the music: Well, we're not playing that in the forest. Promise.

advaligno gmbh I've seen machines similar to yours, but yours is considerably faster. And, yes, like any trade where machinery, and people, are together safety is paramount. Most of the plantation grown trees near here (in Michigan) are red pine (p. resinosa) used for pulp/paper, and treated utility poles. Your device would be especially useful in the latter product.

Can you get us a hint, where you saw a machine „similar“ to ours? There has been one with 8 wheels driving up the tree in a spiral movement, but none with our approach. Harvesters are completely different as they work on dead trees and we take care of the living ones.

advaligno gmbh I saw the spiral pruning device in an online video (not "in person"). It's called the Clouston Tree Pruner. I wasn't very impressed with it as it seemed a bit fussy to set up, and looked kind of slow. I don't know of anyone using a device like yours anywhere around here, but I'm sure one will show up, eventually.

Thanks, never heard of that one. Looks like a copy of the „Fichtel & Sachs KS 31“, a German development of the late 60ies / early 70ies. We are not selling yet, but want to start doing so in 2019.

E' una macchina che rimuove i rami dagli alberi. La prima parte mostra come i forestali svolgono oggi il loro lavoro. La macchina facilita questo lavoro. Lo fai per ottenere più legno pregiato. Se tagliate i rami, non ci saranno più tardi delle fessure.

причин делать подобное 3. 1. устранение боковых суков для более стройной древесины. 2. тож самое, чтобы не было очагов гниения, но при таких работах таким механизмом, повреждается кора, следовательно вреда больше, чем пользы. 3. подготовка к заготовке древесины, просто бред. Я понимаю зачем обрезать в том числе засохшие ветки, а вот использовать для этих целей механизм, повреждающий кору, уже бред. и у нас лесники подобной ерундой не занимаются.

Мы обработали более 200 000 деревьев. У нас есть резиновые ремни. Давление менее 300 г на квадратный сантиметр. Поэтому: никакого повреждения!
