It takes overcoming a lot of uncomfortableness to cover crop and plant green. This session will discuss planting green and the trials and tribulations over the last 10 years. Session highlights include:
• Tips and tricks for successful termination of cover crops like annual ryegrass, cereal rye, and legumes
• Understanding timing, method, and the current weather situation to maximize cover crop benefits and cash crop establishment
• Finding balance in how green and how much biomass is a good balance to attain high yields
• Developing processes that help the farm system as a whole (i.e. putting rape in the cover crop to help pollinators early in the season)
This presentation is part of the 2017 National Conference on Cover Crops and Soil Health. Slide presentations and additional conference information is available at www.sare.org/covercropconferen....

Either you're "Green" or you use Glyphosate. You can't have it both ways. Pick a lane and stick to it.

You go invest thousands in equipment and crop inputs and try growing crop without chemical assistance and let me know how that works for you. You'll be flat broke and out on your ass after the first season.

Another eco turkey gobbling along with the rest of the eco turkeys; like erosion isn't a problem. No Round-up? Fine, he can plant a broadleaf cover and burn it down with 2,4-d.

@@nonyadamnbusiness9887 You can't really get enough diversity in the cover crop with broad leaves alone and 2,4-D won't touch the grasses. IN theory (and on paper) crop rollers can be used to eliminate the chemical inputs but in the real world they only work under ideal circumstances. We can still decrease our dependency on the chemicals by a lot but that's never enough for the enviro-activists.

@@Digger927 I know this. I wasn't responding to your reply. I was responding to the original poster.
