This will definitely shorten my solves with enough practice! This is straight to the point, and with not a lot of practice, easy to memorize. J Perm barely shows any notation, which basically does almost nothing to help you learn algs, just watch what his fingers are doing. J perm has been teaching me ever since I started cubing. To summarize, J Perm is straight to the point and super useful as a teacher. Thank you, J Perm.

(Dowloadable PDF with instructions) I created 2 pdfs for JPERM. One for Advanced F2L and one for Beginner OLL-PLL. The pdf are printable and layed out so you can print them and fold them in a small book you can carry around, about the size of the cube lol. You need A4 paper I will try to make a mobile version of it later, this took some time to make. It might not be prefessional publisher quality but it's really helpful. You still need to watch the videos to understand the pdfs, so I put QR codes linking to JPERM videos. Advanced F2L PDF ==> www.mediafire.com/file/rbv60ub62t1c84x/Advanced_F2L.pdf/file Beginner OLL-PLL ==> www.mediafire.com/file/loyr8e11vyymmm2/OLL_-_PLL_begginer_guide_copie.pdf/file How to fold it ==> www.northcottschool.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/2c-Mini-Book-Template.pdf The first page is the one with the illustration of the cube, fold the long side in half and cut the line in the middle, then follow the folding instructions from the link, or just google 8 page book from A4 paper

For the case where the bottom color is on top on the corner piece and the side colors match (the most difficult pair to fix), there are a couple alternatives. One is to just flip it to the other case that is easier to handle. You can do that by inserting it into an empty slot and removing it the opposite way. So if you do R U' R' to insert, take it back out with F' U' F. Now you can do the simpler case. Probably a bit slow, but super easy to remember and really intuitive. And it may be easier with a cube rotation to do L' U' L instead of F' U' F. Could lead to bad habit of cube rotations though. Another way is to insert it in one go. It's kind of complicated, but can be really fast if you get the hang of it. You put the pair in the same place as in the video. So if you have the corner above the slot it goes into, you turn the top layer in the direction of the edge piece. Now rotate the cube so that the corner is in front and edge on side of cube. Assuming U move as in the video, if the slot below where the corner is at now (front left slot in the video) is not complete, you do this: L' U' L U' M F' (M') If the slot (front left) below the corner WAS completed, you do this instead. Only the moves in round brackets change. L' U' L U' M F' (l' U2 L) Note the small l. It's a wide turn. This just re-inserts the pair that was taken out of that slot. For the right side, it's: R U R' U M F (M') or (r U2 R') Note that R U R' U is common in a few OLL algs. So it can start really quick. M move can be done with R r' if it's too slow.

Hi, this is one of the best F2L videos I've found on RU-vid. The only suggestion would be, after identifying the case how to execute it to avoid rotations or to do it in the most efficient way. I mean, it would be great to see the entire F2L process with these cases in real situations.

6:14 Proof that I need to study these vids more closely. I only just figured out this particular sequence in the past couple of weeks. I was hitting that solution accidentally, and it was breaking my brain--because it was obviously saving me at least a couple of steps. And, it was so simple. After moving the corner around to the back and flipped the edge up, I was taking the pair around the back way. The reason I was sometimes getting the shorter version was just a matter flicking the top the wrong direction. Now I'm having to unlearn the back way and better commit this way. It's costing me for sure.

I highly recommend learning F2L first as a beginner because it feels easier to understand than doing corners first and then the second layer. It is just so much easier and faster to do. If your new to speed cubing then this is helpful.
@philrod1
@philrod1 2 года назад
As a beginner myself I agree with this. I struggled with second layer but found beginner F2L to be way more intuative. No harder than just solving the corners, so the second layer is essentially free. I also think that being colour-neutral from the beginning is a good idea. I'm not sure the reason for learning to always start on the white cross. I like how Dylan usually demonstrates with a white cross, but explains the moves in a colour-neutral way (matching or not matching). I just wish I could find an intuative OLL/PLL because I really suck at remembering algorithms :(
