I can relate to getting better at Japanese but worse at your native language. I'm forgetting mine and I haven't even moved elsewhere.
@carlosrangel7134
@carlosrangel7134 6 лет назад
Yeah, orthography is the worst part for me, I speak spanish, and there's a lot of words similar to english but slightly different, and I'm becoming unnable to tell which one is the correct one for each language. (annual - anual).
@Myuunium
@Myuunium 6 лет назад
Oh god, I have the same issue but with grammar, as well as sayings and even the very word "sayings" can be literally translated to my native language, but it just feels unnatural in English as it's not that common in my experience. Spelling is very similar too, like Spanish, but there are ways to tell which is which. Solution: make Japanese the new global language.

I can relate to dogen about getting worse in English. There are and will always be many situations where my response/interaction would be immediately and easy in English but takes forever in my native language because I have to think about it. I have this feeling too that my native tongue is getting worse the more I get into English and/or other languages. at 12:02
@dafaqu694
@dafaqu694 6 лет назад
71866B COULDN'T BE MORE AGREE, Now I'm living in japan, and always talk in japan and barely talk other than japanese now both my native and english are getting worse and worse Sometimes I want to express something but I forgot some words both in english and natives, but I could immediately say it in japanese....
@hegeds
@hegeds 6 лет назад
I think this is also very dependent on the media you are consuming every day. I usually read books and watch movies in Japanese and English and not in my native tongue so I always have a lot of trouble explaining the plot or something to anyone else. I think the cause might be that even my thoughts are forming in the other language and translating them are not as easy as translating words.
@dafaqu694
@dafaqu694 6 лет назад
Ákos Hegedüs everything in my phone, computer, even a translation from japanese to other language are always English, I like English more than my native language, I still love my native language but I'm not fond of putting everything in my native language
@dafaqu694
@dafaqu694 6 лет назад
Ákos Hegedüs yeah translating is really hard
@vali69
@vali69 2 года назад
I can agree but at the same time. Talking in my native language every day, but using English for basically everything else, which would be everything I do on my phone and computer and thinking. Yeah, thinking. Kinda just evens out my ability in these 2 languages and it seems they neither deteriorate. But I've been doing immersion in Japanese seriously for almost 2 months now and for some reason I'm starting to have weirdly arranged sentences in both of my fluent languages. So that's something scary to think about.

Getting a fixed focal point to look crisp is difficult on lower f-stops, especially if your usual setup's parameters are altered (like by having a second person there, for instance). It could be resolved by having brighter lights and a higher f-stop to get a broader depth of field.

you can now find jobs teaching subjects in Japan other than English. Japan is starting to embrace the IB Programme - schools where the students learn all their core subjects in English. I teach World History at one such school in the Chugoku region. But it helps to already have lived here and have some experience with the language, culture and teaching at Japanese schools. Science, math and art teachers are particularly sought after.
