Based on the Optical Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) Sensor, a Smart Railway Monitoring System has been developed which allows real-time and continuous monitoring of the structural and operational conditions of trains and tracks of railway systems. It can effectively and efficiently improve the system reliability, availability, maintainability as well as safety.
