Turn those meteor weaves into flowers! One of my favorite advanced poi tricks--it turns out that meteor waistwraps are hiding a very fascinating secret: they're actually flattened flowers! That is also covered in my course! Short answer is that I prefer what I call the TIRP grip--one poi is held between the Thumb and Index fingers and the other poi is held between the Ring and Pinkie fingers.

Just to point out: this is not "the" meteor flower by any means. You reverse sides and do a 2 beat weave at each side of your body, this results in 5+5 pedals. if you do a 3 beat weave at one side its will result in a 6+6 pedal antispin flower, or even a 7+7 antispin flower when you do 3 beat weaves at both sides. Something similar can be done with inspins; this makes turning around with them easier in my opinion, as it can add some stability to the flower. Also, gunslingers don't have to be fast, as long as your poi are properly weighted. I actually think slow meteor flowers are one of the best looking patterns out there.

I go into details on the plethora of ways that weaves can be handled and turned into flowers of various petal numbers in the course that I linked to in this video. I've found this to be the most common use case, so it's what I decided to center the video around.

@@narada4421 You've already seen one meteor waistwrap in this video (the 2-beat to 2-beat) but the course covers several others (2-beat to 4-beat, 4-beat to 4-beat, etc). Splats are shorthand for stalls with meteors because visually they look like one object splattering against another.
