A few thoughts on getting affairs in order and choosing Funeral Song (2nd video at the end of the first) The first vlog - • Week 5 ½ The import... This the song I choose • Brand New Tennessee Waltz
Having seen my Dad go through the full experience of prostate cancer for 7 years until his passing in 2023, Nov. I can say you are looking terrific. You’re doing real well. Keep being strong. My heart goes out to you.
5 years of stage 4 prostate cancer and still pushing but getting tired of the constant treatments. My funeral song is I come to the garden alone. My wife and I made a deal if I get tired and decide to stop treatments she will let me go. Nice to see you are still around. 😊
Hi Tom, Let’s hope that day is a long way off. I know where you are coming from, I have occasions when I felt that I just do this anymore. I wish you well. Regards Alan
Hi Alan, I think the Good Lord brought me to your channel. What a brave, peaceful Soul you are! I am from Tennessee; however, I am not familiar with that song…thank you for link….I enjoyed it very much, yes, I would be swaying at your funeral. I hope that your wife will soon support and honor your wishes for songs, ashes and any other options that you prefer. If not already, I pray that you are also getting things right with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit while organizing the physical parts of your life. God Bless and Protect you for the remainder of your journey. I look forward to meeting you in Heaven someday! Till then…❤
Didn't know this band.....It's a great song. Love your vids, because you are the guy next door, no frills, no agenda, just honest causal chat in a serious situation that could happen at any time to any guy and I'm sure the emotions and observations you express are in fact a comfort.
Dear Alan, I felt the joy you had reminiscing about ya mini, I had 3 minis and loved every single one of em! I like your vids, you make me giggle. I'm a stage3c Ov Ca , NED 3+ years. I now enjoy every part of every day. Sending warm regards from Wales.
Thank you, That’s very kind of you. I remember that the old Minis seemed to fit like a glove and so comfortable to drive. Great fun. I am glad you are making the most of life. Regards Alan
I too have prostate cancer, which has returned, and is spreading. Here is my funeral song. "We'll meet again" by Vera Lynn. Consider it for your funeral as well
Been watching you in the bushes without commenting. I lost my mate to prostate cancer. You have had an amazing attitude through it all. As far as your ashes, you can separate them you know. That's what I did. Most went where my partner dreamed. A small bit went with his mother's ashes in church than a tiny amount went in jewelry pieces for our4 daughters. You are one strong courageous man. Keep smiling mate! I feel awful for your wife too. only bc i know what she will go through. My heart hurts for you both. You're handling it better then i. You fellas sure are tough! Much love!
That's not a cute for metastatic prostate cancer. Broccoli was my husband's favorite food. A daily broccoli lover. Still passed after a long fight with metastatic prostate cancer spreading to the bones, lymph nodes and major organs. Diet is an important factor but not a cure. r@kennethward4985
Hi Patricia, I am glad to hear that Chemotherapy went ok. I am now on Anti Hormone Injections. That’s because cancer thrives on Hormones and so it’s best that I don’t have any! Regards Alan
Hi I'm 50 and have prostate cancer and I have caught it early and if I have surgery I will be cancer free but I'm terrified about dieing on the operating table and I'm thinking I could have another 10 or 15years without the operation so I am thinking about not having the operation. Better to have 15years than 1month left if I die on the table and my gutt is telling me that will happen
Hi, I'm 54, living a healthy, meat-free life, but was just diagnosed with Gleason 6 cancer, not spread according to my PSMA PET CT last week. Problem for me is high volume in some cores (55%) and young age. Will consider all my options, and will get 2nd and 3rd opinion.
@@jenjeffsher3616 Gleason 6 is really only a watch full waiting so you don't have to worry to much. But obviously it stays on your mind if its going to go up. I would be happy if mine was watch full waiting but it's right on that operation stage. I hope you get the answers you want. I'm all booked in I'm up and down like a yoyo I don't want to waste anyone's time I have to go for it and be fixed from cancer or suffer. It should be a no brainer. Talking to other prostate recovers can not be a good thing as some of them can be really not helpful
I forgot to ask how are you? It must of been a shock for you. Are you ok? It is a big deal when you hear those words you have cancer. I am here to listen.
@@gb7702 I am in good spirits. How about you? When I first got my biopsy results, I was in shock and hyperventilated. I honestly didn't do my research ahead of time, so I didn't even know about Gleason scores and what they meant. My doctor began the visit by saying he had "bad news," and explained the high core (55%) and said I had "extensive" cancer. Only after that did he mention Gleason scores. I had to ask him what that meant, and he just said it was low grade and that he was confident it could be treated. Only after I got home did I do a bunch of research on Gleason 6 and learned that Gleason 6 never spreads. The PSMA PET CT scan is done basically do make sure the biopsy didn't miss any higher Gleason score cancer. So once I got more familiar with Gleason 6, I was a lot more reassured going into my PSAM PET CT scan, which fortunately seems to have confirmed no spread. But my next visit is Oct 1 -- at which point I will get more info on exactly where my tumor is, how bad the prostate is, and whether i really need surgery or not. I WILL BE GETTING 2nd and 3rd opinions. This is a serious thing, but it is treatable if I choose. Or even if I watch it a little longer. Be strong, brother. Do not worry about the surgery - it is robotic assisted. Very straightforward. The after effects are what you need to think about. But you will not die on the operating table.
Can you prepay your funeral? What you're doing will be a big blessing to your wife. Suggest reviewing it with your wife and family (lso power of attorney and executor if different) to catch anything missing. We should all have this done, especially in this age controlled by passwords.
It is certainly possible to but a funeral plan. But they are mainly localised and as we may move back south again one day it wouldn’t be appropriate. Thanks for the good advice, we did check it through as you mentioned. Regards Alan
Good Alan that you are organised. I have also made a new will, enduring power of attorney and guardianship. Good that we’re both still alive Alan. Woodstock Brand new Tennessee Walk.
Just got diagnosed with stage four Metastatic prostate cancer. Today is August 24 2024. Just wondering how long you've had this Advanced Prostate cancer.
