This is the best Skater XL tut I've seen. It took me an hour to watch 20 minutes haha. I'm really enjoying learning the mechanics of this game.

the best looking tre revert imo is like this. assuming you're regular, you tre flip like normal, but you wrap the right stick all the way to the far right like you're steezing it out, and you hold the left stick all the way to the left. as the board comes close to your front foot, click the left stick to catch with the front foot, and then move the right stick from all the way right to up and to the right. then you hold left trigger and it will revert out on the front trucks. it looks really fuckin good when you nail it. it's pretty easy to over or under rotate it though so sometimes it can look weird but if you get the perfect amount of rotation to catch it around 90 degrees, it looks amazing.

I found most of this stuff out on my own which I'm pretty happy about, I found out about the first thing when I was trying to get out grinds on rails without doing a ollie off and remembers the power slide and that opened up so many different tricks and today I finally learned how to ride vert good, I like how this game rewards experimenting. The only think I want in this game is some kind of contest skating, like SLS and xgames and it would be even better if they could integrate that into some kind of story mode where you build you way up to that level.. I just think it would be so sick cause of the difficulty of being consistent

honestly those 360s i couldn't figure out but this helped the reverts out of grinds is smart and looks sick.

After I got boardslide, tailslides 5050's, 5-0's, and nose grinds down I hit a bit of a wall. This video has helped me tremendously now I'm flipping in and out of feeble and crooked grinds on purpose lol.

Been playing this casually on Xbox lately trying to get a feel for it and this has helped me grasp a few concepts much better thanks. Still have a hard time rotating with sticks without accidently doing a flip trick. Just have to work on my timing. Very helpful video maybe do a short one on the mini next.

I struggle a lot with 50-50's on kink rails. Everytime I try my trucks never lock onto the trick and the grind turns into a 5-0/nosegrind as I grind through the sections of the rail. How do I get a clean 50-50 on rails like that?

Can you make a video how you control your flip speed so consistent? I mean sure I can do hardflips, inward heels etc. but half of the time my guy does the 360 versions of those tricks and i barely feel like I have full control over it

Crazy, I do 360s by pointing analog stick towards or away from each other (depending on fs or bs) with a split second difference in timing. This game is so good

i’m surprised i found out pretty much all of this stuff by trial and error. i’ve probably put about 20+ hours since it dropped on console. absolutely loving this game and how it rewards you for actually practicing just like real skating

Also another tip... when getting out of lipslides & boardslides use the "powerslide trick" to correct your landing to make it smooth asf

Think you could do a video covering how to get consistent varial kickflips/varial heelflips and hardflips/inward heelflips? I find hardflips and inwards to be easier to do consistently but I can't figure out how to high pop them and varial flips I can only do through luck it seems.

You’re also able to anti flip (half a kick flip then bring it back like rewinding the flip) all you need to do is do a kick flip and when reaches around half way you catch it with your front foot. It’s fun to do sometimes

I like using the trigger and pulling back both sticks for tailslides because they look way better for a bigspin or kickflip to fakie.

Hey correct me if I'm wrong I kinda disagree with u, mainly prefer using the triggers to aline myself for most grinds as I can do the flip or other tricks out easier after grinding?

You don’t need to swing the stick 90 degrees to adjust for rotation, you can just move them outwards or inwards to the left/right, and depending on how far you pull or push the sticks in, the further you rotate, I feel like this is a lot easier to control than swinging the stick from the tops to the sides

Milky when you are turning on flat do you only use the triggers? I tend to revert back to Skate 3 instinct and turn with the sticks but I'm thinking I should only use triggers for turning and rotations, is this what you do?

Great tutorial as always. Any chance you can show us one on intermediate/advanced flip tricks? For whatever reason I can never do tre's or even a simple inward heel/hardflip.

One trick I've been playing around with now that I'm having to play with auto catch for a while is anti-flips if you do like manual reverts into half flipped 180 kick/heelflips it looks like the character kicks the board back, can look really steezy

How to do clean axle stalls in miniramps. Spent hours trying to figure out how to do it as smooth as possible and not sure if it's the game itself needing polished or myself over complicating it

Also don’t need to let the front foot stick go completely to get medium pop, use full force on your back foot, and half force on the front foot (stick halfway between bottom and centre stick)

The game has its shortcomings but honestly I don't really care about any of them. The street skating is just so damn fun and rewarding, I can easily waste an hour away just doing the same line over and over. Really great info, thanks for sharing!

After playin skate since skate 1 demo dropped (about 15 years), I hated this game at first. But damn its addicting as hell. So much potential.

Milky, after practicing the 180, i discoverd that u dont need to put upwards and than downwards.. u just need put the analogs away like this < > when u r in the air
