In this video I'll show how to make a u-turn from a dead stop and, I'll do a long term review of 2 ccrider seats. www.ridelikeap... www.tabperform... www.motorcycle... www.ccridersea... / ride.like.a.pro.inc
after watching you're videos 100's of times and countless hours of riding i can now do that on my 21 street glide AND with my wife on the back Jerry all thanks to you and me never giving up!! by the way that bike is so Beautiful i love it..mine is river rock color i've had it almost 2 years now and the color still hasn't Grown on me!!
I recently purchased a two up seat with the padding CC Rider you’re right it is a awesome seat compared to the stock Harley Davidson. Thank you for your advice.
nice demo...thanks for including the outtakes. I've had problems with seats. i had an Ultima aftermarket seat for my Yamaha, a Mustang and then a Day Long for my Harley then got a Harley Road Sofa. Day long is the most comfortable for me and i can ride the furthest but its a little awkward. i like the road sofa but can only spend a couple hours in it.
I've been riding for 48 years. I wouldn't have a problem with that turn. I can do it on any bike but I ride a '99 Heritage Springer. Great content, as for the seat I'd go all black.
For my 05 road king, turning right from a stop is a piece of cake because my clutch cable isn't the right length for my bars. So with the left handlebar up and with tension on it, I barely have to release the clutch to start moving. Turning left, on the other hand, requires a bit more maneuvering of my throttle and clutch. Should probably fix it, but I'm used to it by now!
I understand that. I had new bars and controls done on my 04 Road King and my clutch cable is still stretching a bit. Makes that friction zone a bit of a moving target. I just had to have the clutch adjusted again because I lost most of my clutch engagement and when I got it back it was super touchy, but it stretched a bit and is more comfortable now. Hope that is just about done hahaha.
As noted (by you) in previous videos, Harley Davidson's rake / wheelbase offers a most favorable low speed maneuverability. My Kawasaki Indian Drifter is a different story, I should not of bought that bike, as my 68' FLH is now being neglected...
love the look of the CCRider Seat, but they can't tell me why they won't fit an 08, the Harley seats fit 07 to 14 if i recall, and there is nothing changed in the frame, but if they tell me it won't fit my 08 so they loose a sale.
Technical question. Do you initiate movement for that maneuver by 1)relaxing some of the rear brake or 2) adding a little more clutch engagement? I seem to do better with #1 but makes me wonder if I rely too much on the rear brake for control on my slow speed work?
I have been practicing doing u turns using the brake before release and increasing the throttle. I have surprised myself by going into full lock a couple of times while at the apex of the turn.
I think it depends on how your bike is set up... I have a BMW and the speed is controllable with the clutch completely "disengaged" by holding it back with the rear brake. The idle is high enough and 1st gear is low enough it doesn't "bog" down. I've still got my hand on the on the clutch... just in case I need to "cut" power but I'm not in the friction zone at that point.
Hello and TY for your videos. How does that two piece seat have you sitting? Does it feel like you are in stock position, closer to the tank and less room or further back. Is it higher or lower?
Hey Jerry, I’ve got a question. I see you are wearing one of the Harley Davidson mesh jackets. How effective is it in the Florida heat and humidity? What does the label say for laundering?
Looks is important........if not Harley would be out of business......everybody would be riding Kawasaki versys, Harley now has PanAmerica I don't need seat for my DWG, have Harley signature series w/backrest......wish I knew about ccrider seats before, might have saved me $400 They don't have seats for XR or V-Rod......my XR is saddlemen seat and I'd rather have the stock seat, my V-Rod is stock seat and wouldn't change it Yes Corbin is expensive and when first get on you'd think hard, it's made for the long haul, seat is cupped so it's support is on outer butt cheeks, holding you in place and not applying pressure to butt crack which is problem with stock seats....my Versys is horrible for long distance, and of course ccrider doesn't make seat for Versys I am looking at getting Z900 or Z650, 900 they have seat 650 no Let's not forget Maverick le Pera seats are also very expensive Ccrider seats are what I feel motorcycle seats should cost Sargent seats is another cost less than most, more than ccrider, and they've got one for Versys
They had me doing this on my Road King in the MSF beginner class. I had a hard time with it honestly, I'm better now but still that maneuver makes me nervous. My head goes back to that day in class and throws me off. I'm getting better and can manage the 90 degree full lock from a stop, but still a little uncomfortable.
