It's going to be crazy flying aircraft in GTA VI if they use this same volumetric cloud tech from RDR2.

The Red dead redemption part of this is so cool to watch knowing all of this is going into their next game Going from gta 5’s round cloud skybox to realistic clouds and fog and lighting I still can’t believe how many people don’t understand all of those effects are disabled in pre alpha debug testing because it doesn’t matter if it’s on since nobody was supposed to see it That’s like expecting people to walk around their house on a Sunday morning in a suit and tie

Yeah, I also saw people complaining that it reuses assets from V like what do you expect? That the devs go to file>new project and start everything from scratch or what. RDR2 was (is) gorgeous, and im sure it will only get better now that they can target newer platforms with more processing power. Even V looked alright in my opinion, but it was a PS3 game after all, so we didnt get those fancy volumetrics there unfortunately.

Not only that, for sure the tockstar new tecnogic development team is hard working into new effects and tecnologies that ONLY will be applied into yhe game in the last year of developing, for sure GTA VI will be released with hundreds and hundreds of new effects and tecnologies. People need to understand that there's more than 1.000 people working in this game, and the build of an Prototype Gameplay team, wont have the latest models, maps, effects and scripts from others teams, they WONT use the Master Branch, but the individual ones, which is updated only two or 4 times per month with the latest changes in some of the dev team, the changes which has been tested and ready to be implemented/shared to the other teams, which is basically nothing in the actual game dev time. Game development is not everyone working in everything in thr same file and build and with the game ready with one click, if it was simply that, games wont take more than 5.000 days of hard developing. There's people even talking bad about the UI, because it's unpolished and sometimes even exactly like GTA V... LIKE C'MONNN… UI is literally one of the last thing finished in a game and is made by the Design department team after hundreds and hundreds of concepts and visual identity choices, the UI will not be ready until the last at least before 6 months of the game be released. And worst of all, what is the point to have the game playing with all effects turned on and all graphics option working, if the only proporses of these videos its internal conversation between devs??? And noone besides devs should've been able to see these videos, cause it WILL look unpolished, cause ITS unpolished. When the game trailer drop, everyone will be jaw broken when see the difference between leak footage and final result, a lot of people will even think that the leaked footage is fake because it will for sure, look not even 1% alike the footages. The trailer WILL BE how the team really wants the game graphics to be. I'm not excited to the trailer, but to see the people who told "It look just like GTA V with mods", literally, breaking apart and being ashamed by themselfs.

hicaro junior yea exactly I wish I could copy and paste this to everyone I saw who had no idea what they were talking about Also you’re exactly right about the UI When elden ring had their closed network test people said “uh hey the Health bars look is little bland” and then when the game was officially released they made them look way better So even between the first actual trailer and the game getting released they can still change plenty of stuff depending on what people say But nooo everyone thinks this collection of bug reports is anywhere near the final game

It's a shame that there's not much official video archive of SIGGRAPH Realtime Rendering presentation... I have fascinated with Rockstar's presentation on sky atmosphere, but the presentation file alone didn't give enough context.
