Fionna's ordinary universe is called Mundane World, which everything is normal and non-magical. But here we are! Ice Queen is here, enjoying her life without any problems than selling Ice Creams.

I remember Tree Trunks once calling Ice King “Ice Cream” and Lemongrab “Lemoncarb” and these characters turned out to sort of fulfill that. Kind of wish she turned out to be a more significant character, since she’s supposed to be Simon’s equivalent. But maybe Prismo didn’t know (or care) about Simon’s backstory so he only based her off Ice King (or just his idea of him).

After getting her PhD in Antiquary Studies, Simone Petrikova sought the artifacts of a lost civilization. The failure of recovering such artifacts led to a distraught Simone to lash out at her beloved, Bert Grof. He looked with such contempt. Not much was told about what had been done that night, only that Simone never saw him again. Losing her fiancé, Simone descended into addiction. The ‘ice’ and ‘snow’ brought her comfort, at the price of her sanity, as well as her once impeccable reputation. A decade passed before Simone was a shell of her former self. She was seen as a nuisance by the adults, and as an evil witch by the children, except for Marshall Lee, who brought her ice cream every week to escape he abuse of his mother. In one of her episodes, Simone was shouting at a young girl and boy after a prank gone wrong. She was standing in the middle of the street as a red double decker bus sped down. Simone wasn’t able to react fast enough before she was pushed off to the sidewalk by a mysterious figure. In a rare moment of clarity, Simone rushes to her now broken and limp savior. It was Bert. Simone was overwhelmed by many emotions, grateful Bert had saved her, terrified about the condition he is in and desperate to get him help. She maniacally screams for someone to get him an ambulance. Those calls are halted, when Bert grabs her hand. He comforts Simone and tells her that he is glad she is okay. She pleads for Bert to be okay, promises to get her life back together and not hurt him again. Bert tells her that he looks forward seeing Simone better herself, as he always loved her and believes in her. He passes. A grief-stricken Simone embraces Bert and promises to make the best of the second chance he gave her. Simone follows through by spending several months in rehab and getting a fresh start by taking odd jobs here and there. A few years pass before she gets ice cream with a now fully grown Marshall Lee. Although Simone isn’t where she was before her addiction, she has made considerable progress in reintegrating into society. She tells Marshall that of all the jobs she has, she really enjoys serving ice cream. The kindness he had shown during her dark days left an impact on the soul of the broken scholar.

Natasha Allegri didn't give her a real name for some reason, so there's no confirmation her name was Simone. Sorry I can't find any clues.

It's highly implied this isn't really a gender-swapped version of Simon. In fact, her backstory is completely different, but this could easily change if MAX greenlights another season or series.

@@brokensoul8390 apparently, Ice Queen's character development is still a mystery, so we can't find any answers. In other words, Natasha Allegri and other former writers from Adventure Time forgot to develop some backstories about her past.

Prismo created Fionna and Cake world but Ice King had infuence on it so maybe Ice Queen's origin was cut/change by him without even knowing.

Yes. She's selling Ice Cream peacefully, until Fionna showed up and "unintentionally" kicked her in a belly. Also, one of the Scarab's minions arrived on Ice Queen's Ice Cream Cart. And it's so embarrassing to her customers. Poor Ice Queen...

Ice queen is voice by the legendary Grey Delisle, the same voice actress behind Azula from the last airbender, Wubbzy in wow wow wubbzy, frankie in foster home for imaginary friends, Lana Loud, Lola Loud, Lily loud from the loud house and finally she voice both Moon butterfly(star's mother) and jackie from Star vs the forces of evil. As you can tell ice queen's voice is very similar to moon butterfly.
