Low-key, Peppermint Butler is one of the coolest characters in Adventure Time. He’s made of candy AND he’s a grade A necromancer?!? I wanna hang out with that guy. Peppermint Butler is one of my favorite Adventure Time characters for sure. It's basically a 3-way tie between him, Ice King, and Prismo. I'm excited that we're getting a whole Distant Lands episode dedicated to Pep Butt!

I think 'Wizard City' is the most peculiar inclusion for Distant Lands. Everybody and their mother likes BMO, people were going to go nuts for another episode about PB & Marcy's relationship one way or another, and Finn & Jake were the main characters of the original show. I feel like Peppermint Butler's fanbase is a smaller and more dedicated corner of the fanbase, and I think that gives 'Wizard City' the chance to be the most interesting. Now the real question is, if Pep But was in The Owl House, which coven would he be in?

BMO was a prequel. Bubblegum & Marcelline was a near-immediate sequel. Finn & Jake: a later sequel spanning millenia. I suspect this one, bc of P. Butler's realm-spanning powers & long candy lifespan (and 2 different lives after being reverted to a kid), will cover deep time, before and after the main series, and will answer some of the big COSMIC questions of the series, like about what happens with GolbBetty & Simon. Maybe we'll see Prismo and Cosmic Owl too. Can't wait, personally. This whole series and world is near-perfect. And every Distant Lands special, I've loved.

Idk if this is Canon but I saw an AT comic some weeks ago called 'Simon and Marcy' And somewhere around the end of it Pepperment butler's original form (before getting dumdumified) is restored

I dont think the comics are canon, in the comics, Finn got a new mechanical arm with the same design as his previous one which we know didnt happen since he has a different arm in the distant lands poster and possibly doesnt wear one by Obsidian, plus in the comics, Betty came back which didnt happen because we never saw her in Obsidian

does the fin and jake distant lands ep. come after pep butts ? if so, in pep buts ep, he severed old pep but from himself, vowing not to go down that path. but in finns ep. he clearly went back to the dark side, dark sorcery really is his destiny. princess bubblegum is dead, and he is in charge of candy kingdom. they really need to flesh out how he went from innocent magic student to king of candy kingdom and dark mage again.

U know what would be a good "hour-long special" for Adventure Time? If a new villain coerces Finn into becoming evil and turns him against his friends (including Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline etc), forcing them all to unite and take him down. I'm also imagining that Finn would ditch his sword and instead wield GUNS! This would truly be a dark and brooding episode and badass at the same time. 😎
