I'll just say this, Marcy WAS a proper vampire, the lore in this world just says that they can rink red as a blood alternative to keep the show kid friendly.

Marceline is half-demon, that's why despite her only human DNA being from her mom, a woman of color, she's still very pale to the point of being grey and why she has pointy ears. Since she's half-demon she has soul sucking powers, so whenever she kills a vampire that has powers she can get those powers by sucking their soul

16:05 simon sent her dad to watch her. thats when the "daddy why did you eat my fries" moment happened. i think she lived with him in the nightosphere for awhile before getting sick of him and presumably running away to become a vampire hunter. she got her axe from her dad then too and turned it into a bass

The stakes mini series is peak adventure time and finally we get Marcy’s full backstory.

I love how the Empress kept reading Simon's diary throughout that whole episode, specifically entries from back when he'd been serving her the first time. They keep alluding to that having been a thing the whole time which makes Marceline explaining that she'd started to hunt vampires because it made her feel like she was protecting Simon even better, considering that likely the only reason why Simon was ever freed from the Empress was because Marceline had found and killed her, so she actually DID protect Simon by hunting the vampires ^^

this is absolutely the best arc in the show for me. everything is phenomenal.

I fell in love with this show for many reasons, and one of those reasons was how the writers never actually forgot, about anything. So much crazy shit has happened at this point that one might start wondering if previously established lore will be acknowledged ever again, or if the creators just forgot about certain plotlines. And here we are, season 7, establishing even more new lore while acknowledging previous lore. All you ever really have to do is pay attention to the details being presented to you: - From the moment Marceline was introduced in the show, she always had bite marks, implying she had been turned into a vampire, whether willingly, or unwillingly. When Marceline's dad, Hunson Abadeer, was introduced back in season 2, it was never even remotely implied he was a vampire, your brain kinda just makes that assumption because Marceline is introduced as "the Vampire Queen," and that's her dad. Season 4 sees the return of Hunson and we actually get to go into the Nightosphere, fully solidifying the idea that Hunson is nothing less than a demon lord in this world, governing over an entire realm of demons and chaos. Season 5 premiere sees an alternate timeline in which the world gets covered in ice for 400 years after the Great Mushroom War, the bomb never went off, there was no Lich, no vampires, no magic (at least no known magic), the world got effectively reset centuries, and Marceline never became the Vampire Queen, hence why she was so old, but she still managed to live for so long because, in her own words, she's "a demon... half-demon." Now we finally know what the other half is, a human half. - Two Bread Tom (the leader of the human tribe from Marceline's vampire hunting days) makes it clear that the reason why the humans are leaving isn't because of the predators, like the vampires, the toxic monsters, or the rainicorns. The real reason why they're leaving is because "the latest atmospheric readings are going bananas; something big is coming, and it's gonna change allll this." We know exactly what that is, a naturally cosmic recurrence, one that arrives on Earth every 1,000 years and brings with itself an era of change. Now we know that shortly after the humans left, 1,000 years ago, the Catalyst Comet arrived, and thus, the Land of Ooo truly started forming. - Y'all wondering if Simon actually sent somebody to take care of young Marcy. Well, if y'all recall back in season 3, Finn and Jake personally witness Marceline's memory of how Hunson ate her fries, which inspired one of her most iconic songs. In that memory, she looked like she was in her mid-teen years, older than when Simon left her, but younger than when she started hunting vampires. Sooo... I'll let y'all connect the dots there. Never forget, the writers always remember. "Everything stays, right where you left it."

Ah yes, the infamous Stakes Miniseries. I remember everyone going wacko crazy these episodes first aired because who wouldn't? It's the origin of Marceline and vampires!

This was probably my favorite mini-series out of the main adventure time series. This make me so happy as a kid and when I watched it with my friends at the time

Marcy is a demon-human. She could eat souls, and gain the power of the vampire souls without becoming a vampire. It wasn't until later she was bitten and became the vampire queen we know!

Simon sent Huntson Abadeer or however you spell her father’s name. She stayed with him until her teens, where she left him when she found him eating her fries. Her vampire hunting career is after she left.

Simon searched for Marceline's father I think. So that's why she lived with his father for some time when she was a kid, but after the fries thing she left the Nightosfere I guess

To answer Eric's question about who Simon sent to watch over Marceline, it is heavily implied that he summoned Hunson Abadeer.

Remember that Marceline was always a part demon.
