I'm 23 and now currently collecting physical media. Some say its a waste of money since everything is digital now and collecting physical media is just cost inefficient and takes up too much space. But I digress. I don't want to have to pay a monthly fee to watch things, then pay an extra fee for the premium service with no ads. So I collect physical media from films, tv shows, and cartoons. I suppose I just want my kids to watch the same things I watched. I know that's kind of selfish and I know I'm bias to what I grew up with. But I really do think a lot of the magic has been lost when it comes to tv shows and cartoons so I want them to be able to see and appreciate what I had and what my parents showed to me. Adventure Time is a great example of a modern cartoon that meets those gold standards. I'd say Regular Show is right up there with it. I own this box set and all 8 seasons of Regular Show and they look very nice on my little cartoon shelf. Excellent video sir!
I am right with you on physical media. I will be collecting until the day I die. It goes so much deeper than collecting for me. It is a part of who I am, and my collection serves as a visual roadmap of my life. I love to share "the classics" with my kids. They take to a lot of it. I'm glad you're doing the same. I also think Adventure Time is a show worthy of its popularity. Thanks for the comment! :)
Cartoon Fortress I also collect physical media too Although one streaming site is permanent That one is called watch cartoon online which I usually go to watch some cartoons I love and interested in
Damn, i was looking at the blu ray collection but the artwork on this box-set is just 10/10, and bonus discs is..well, a bonus!. Good o'l dvd's it is!.
Not great...haha! Very much standard definition. I hope there is a Blu Ray release at some point. That’s my opinion after having sampled episodes in the set.
So is upgrading to the blu ray version better? Any noticeable resolution differences? Tbh I think this packaging is a lot cooler but I think the new blu ray box set is cool in it's own rite. Please respond Edit: Also LOVE YOUR REVIEW man! Your commentary was nice and soothing and you overall sound knowledgeable about DVD and bluray so thank you :)
Thank you for the kind words! :) I haven’t had the chance to view any Blu Ray releases of the show. I can say the DVD quality is pretty standard fare. It’s not wonderful, but if you are on a smaller TV like a 42” or so, it is fine.
Adventure Time is one of my top 5 favorite shows. It was my childhood. I grew up with Adventure Time. The writing, characters, and animation are amazing. My favorite character is Finn the Human. I miss Adventure Time. I still rewatch it from time to time. Plus it has become a franchise by having spin off released like Adventure Time Distant Lands (2020-2021) and the upcoming Fionna and Cake spin off series. I can't wait for the spin off series of Adventure Time.
I'm happy to hear this show hits home for you. It really is a wonderfully imaginative, well written, fun time. I can certainly understand why it ran as long as it did. Interesting about the spinoff series. I wasn't aware. Thanks for the great comment! :)
Hello there. last Saturday, I ordered my own copy which is still new, at E bay with all of my paycheck money. It was under the $60 price and it also included tax and shipping and handling too. No, ounce I get it in the mail maybe around my 26th Birthday, I will not only read it the story, the titles, the number of episodes and discs, I will also watch each disc. I will enjoy it, since I already have the other 6 Volume sets and my Stakes DVDs before I moved out of my parents house in October of 2017! I subscribed to your channel and rung that bell. Thanks again, very much!
@@FilmCollectorArchive Sorry, but over a year ago, it did not come in the mail. It somehow got lost in the mail. Aw! But have no fear, I'll be getting another one for Christmas if I'm good that is!
I liked that part, 2:39, where you flick the box with your finger, and talk about the weight of the box - a very realistic view and once again I enjoyed your comments about why you liked "Adventure Time" 😎
Say David tonight I’ve watched the animated film called Dave and the magic pearl It’s terrible the characters have no arcs the story was nothing but wasted potential and the dialogue is terrible especially since it included a narrator which explains the whole plot throughout the film
This show alongside regular show gumball secret mountain fort awesome mad robotomy problem solverz uncle grandpa Clarence we bare bears ( don’t ask I count 2015 as early 2010s although some may suggest mid 2010s) and Johnny test ( don’t ask it’s not great but it’s also not horrible either) dominated the early 2010s on Cartoon Network If your not a fan of any of these shows then I respect your opinion
I am thinking of getting this I am never going to watch it considering all the episodes are going to be on hbo max since I prefer to stream things if I have the option to
I think it's pronounced Enchiridion with the "ch" sounding like a k 🙂. I think I'm gonna buy the set because 1 I loved the show and 2 because like a lot of shows I watched in the past I fell off it and hadn't gotten back to it for a long time 😅! Adventure Time being one along with Regular Show, and South Park. I'm trying to slowly but surely work my way back to watching them again. The set is really expensive so it'll probably be another long time before I start looking again to purchasing another complete seasons set. Maybe Regular Show will be the next one?
My favorite episode is "Is that you?" From season 6. My favorite season is either 5 or 6, because that's when the underlying plot of the show became the focus and got a lot more serious and fun to watch for me
Is it the one that costs 103 and is it region free because i've seen people complain about that and that the discs were used can some1 give me some more info that whats on amazon maybe if you are from europe and bought it from amazon or somewhere else? Please
Does this box include all of the special features from the previous individual complete season releases? Like The Wand, Finndemonium, Animatics, etc. in season 1? Commentaries from all seasons? Behind the scenes? Etc.
Man i bought one from ebay.. and it didnt have the book design like yours.. its just the discs.. :( but im still going to love it! :) ill re buy another one and hopefully ill get this one this time.. 🙏❤️
@@sloaneyboo awesome, i ended up just keeping my (just discs-no artbook pages) . Maybe one day if i desire it. Ill get one. But for now, im okay with what i got. How do you like yours? :) congrats btw!
Hello, how are you? I would like to ask you a favor, I really wanted to make this book for me, because there is not much adventure time here in Brazil. Would you send me pictures of the entire book and CDs to my email? thanks for listening
Ya, I can understand that being a hard choice sometimes. In my opinion you go quality of presentation over quality of packaging. Thanks for the comment! :)
Writing this in 2024. I wonder if you watched the show and what you thought? I have only seen a handful of episodes but my sis is a hard core fan, so I wanted to buy this for us and found the lay out really amazing looking. I hope you liked it :)
The more animation we get on disc, the better! I would love a complete series set for Dexter's Laboratory more than probably anything else! Thanks for the comment! :)
I’d love to see it receive a Blu Ray release at some point. It actually has received that treatment in a Region B release. Not sure what the plans are moving forward. TV shows on Blu Ray are pretty hit and miss, and of course it depends on elements that are available. But in the case of Adventure Time, a Blu Ray release makes sense.
Any idea as to what the newer green box version is all about? Still a dvd, all same episodes and features only difference is that the box is green and it is referred to as "standard edtion". They are more expensive than this model for some reason🤔. Lmk if you have any info. Thanks
I apologize for the delayed response. The research I have done suggests that this DVD set is uncut. The censored versions seem to have turned up more in non-American localizations of Cartoon Network. So, I think you are safe to make the purchase. Thanks for the comment. :)
@@FilmCollectorArchive Maybe Even With The 3 Missing Shorts & The Missing Season 4 Episode (the au dvd was missing an episode). What If The Discs Were In A VHS Looking Case (like the one seen in one of the episodes. [I dont remember but i was there when my sister watched it])
I have never seen the show end to end. I hope to do that soon. But the episodes I have seen are so fun and quirky. I love the characters and the world. But I can also see how it would not be for everyone. But you could probably say that about most shows. Thanks for the comment! :)
Cartoon Fortress I do want the complete series , it’s always been one of my favorites since it first aired and I bought what I did because I saw them at half price books for next to nothing like new lol
Ya, that's a fair criticism of this set, seeing as how they are DVD discs. However, I don't mind this style of packaging when Blu Ray discs are involved.
I think a lot of shows look great on DVD, and it is a fine format. That being said, the Blu Ray treatment is quite transformative for some shows. And of course it depends on the equipment you are watching on as well. If you are on a 42” or smaller screen, then yes, it will have a lot less impact.
Packaging. The new green version is one of the cases that you can take the discs and disc holder completely out. It’s budget packaging. And in my opinion, not great. I would stick with the version I have in this video if you’re interested in owning the show. I still hold out hope that there will be a Blu Ray release. The popularity of the show should justify a set in my opinion. But we’ll see. Thanks for the comment!
Recently started to try and get disks for shows and movies I liked. But it seems that I still have to learn. Such as what the difference of a Blue Ray and this sort of disks? @@FilmCollectorArchive
@@The_Last_Seleno blurays get easily scratched more then dvds like these, when a scratch mark does appear on disks like these they usually still work just fine also im pretty sure that blurays r cheaper then disks like these but i could be wrong
@@FilmCollectorArchive Oh, I am region B I believe (Australia) and i've seen the complete collection but it doesn't look like it's set up like an actual book, if that makes sense. It's just a blu ray set. It's weird how much variation there is between regions.
I have a question. I’ve been trying to find a short. I remember getting a dvd from a local library in Colorado I don’t remember what it looked like but I do remember that it was adventure time. I watched it all the time but the extras section is what I’m looking for today somewhere in one of those dvds, there’s a short about the writers of the show (I think), it was like an interview deal but Finn jumps out of one of the art panels at some point, and proceeds to mess with the writers. He’s significantly smaller than them moving around pencils and running around and making noises and such. I remember the short vividly but I can’t seem to find it anywhere and was wondering if anyone else has even seen it.
I’ll be honest. I am so waiting for this to hit the clearance bin at Walmart. I already have the individual dvd sets (wish it had stayed Blu-ray throughout but last two season where dvd only). So if I where to get this. It would be just to save space on the dvd shelf.
