Arkansas is called the natural State. Before that it was called the land of opportunity. But I’ve never heard it called the Wonderstate. Our license plate say the natural state.

WTR,, HI I always look forward to your vids, especially with your mom with you, these will be lifetime memories , I took my I PAD to APPLE LOWvolume& the audio Jack no works, so they suggested a Bluetooth headset, great sounds, never miss any audio, BTW somewhere I was looking @used RV VANS, came across HYMER AKTIV 2.0 with low mileage, amongst others, it will have to wait for FLORIDA. when I can get out of here, happy trails to you all safely as you go,, Cheers🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Christine is my kind of lady! We both enjoy our food! One of the pleasures of RV life is trying new places to eat. Of course, being from the South, Waffle House is not new to us but Tim Hortons in Nova Scotia sure was! Very much enjoying this summer with Mom ❤️ series.

it was too hot for us in arkansas, so we went to tennessee, and gatlinburg, in the mountains, 10 degrees cooler.

A bit of history, Fort Chaffee near Fort Smith, Arkansas is an installation was an Army training camp, prisoner of war camp and refugee camp. It was opened in 1941 as part to double the size of the army. During World War 2 it was a training camp and POW camp where 3,000 German POWs were held. In 1958, Elvis Presley received his first military haircut in building 803. From 1975 to 1976, Fort Chaffee was a processing center for refugees from Southeast Asia. The facility processed 50,809 refugees from the Vietnam War, giving them medical screenings, matching them with sponsors and arranging for their residence in the United States. My husband was in the Army stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington when the Vietnamese refugees arrived and was sent down to Fort Chaffee because he spoke Vietnamese. I found an furnished apartment and stayed down there also.

It’s been fun watching your “Summer With Mom” trip. It reminds me of when we took my mother-in-law on summer vacations (road trips from Ohio to So. Carolina). We all had a blast visiting places she would never have gone to on her own.

Well, did Mom really think that Arkansas lived up to the hype? Having lived in Memphis for 5 yrs I know how humid and sticky the mid_South can be. I don't miss at all now living in NYC.

My dude, I too would not pay to climb 165 feet even in good weather. Maybe I'll be the sole reason the US Parks and Rec comes down entirely (doubtful) but I'm still not paying optional fee's that don't strike me as an expenditure I'd want to .... expend. hehehehe
