Makeup is an art form. It involves color and light and words like “sculpting,” and certain techniques call for specific tools. There are those with predisposed talent, yes. True artists.
But makeup, like painting, can be learned - and on the flip side, taught. That’s where beauty vloggers have changed the game. You want to look like Left Shark from Katy Perry’s super bowl performance? A beauty vlogger can and will show you how.
We partnered with NARS on the launch of their new Dual-Intensity Blush (it’s a double color palette that you can mix together or wear alone, apply wet, dry, while doing a handstand, etc.) and decided to film our own makeup how-to.
Turns out, however, that beauty vlogging is also an art. One that’s hard to master. Luckily for Leandra, the blush was the easy part. (We can thank its light texture and natural finish for that. She’s still working on her artistic technique.) Watch the video above - you can’t say we didn’t try! - and rest assured that we’re keeping our day jobs.
…Except for Simon Doonan. He may have found a new calling.
Leandra is wearing Panic Dual-Intensity Blush, Pore Refining Primer, Finland & Alaska Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer,Vanilla, Custard & Honey Radiant Creamy Concealer, Eden Pressed Powder, Altai Matte Multiple, Copacabana Multiple, Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara, and Bettina Velvet Matte Lip Pencil.
