Advice for a new Pu Erh Tea drinker!

Super interesting man! Stumbled across this on Twitter. But yeah - if the audio is higher next time it'll be perfect!

I began my pu erh journey about two months ago. I found out quickly that I much prefer ripe pu erh, and have found six very good varieties on which I rely. I had the opposite experience with Oolong teas. They were younger, and all had an astringent taste I could not stand, so I have left Oolongs, and invested in good Pu erhs 😀. I find myself happy with the 357 gram cakes in the $20 to $40 range, and was utterly shocked to see a review on a pu erh costing $5 a GRAM !!!

Interesting video. I had a very bitter Sheng cake which I hated. So I put it in paper bunged it in a cupboard pre covid. Found it again last week and thought oh well I remember it I will give it a taste. Blimey the bitterness had dramatically reduced into a very pleasant tea that opened up some nice flavours. I was shocked but in a good way 😅

I've been having a wonderful tasting with autumn pick puerh teas. They seem to me to have a sweeter taste with a little less sour. I was shocked because I have been only buying spring picked. It wasn't until recently that I bought a autumn by accident and now I have a new area to investigate. Do you feel the same about the autumn puerh being sweeter?

Hi Oli, thanks for a great tutorial. I'm going to set it up asap. One question, is it possible to "restart" your cake even it has been stored in dry environment? I noticed some of my cakes taste the same over period of 4 years, some evolved. All of them are sheng puerh. Thanks a lot!

I'm new to tea and getting ready to buy some puer tea, so I really wanted to hear this video. By any chance did you make (or would you please make) another video with advice about puer for those of us who are new?

how do you know that is just few weeks iknow about puerh tea cakes? thank you thank you we interest too much about. this puerh cake is the reason i get stik to tea. and i buy alot of things in two days from aliex press cakes loose one just by nose.. and also after some gong fu materials just fwe not all u need... becose why? why..becose..money is finish in a flash :D and so... now i wait that all those things cometo me. but is hard to wait.. there is many days in chinese post free sending.. before come to my house..maybe 30 days? maybe more???. but i want tell you. the get more speed than before years. becouse two of the product come already less than 15 days!!! wow... so only on the parep is write 59 days 35 days...but is very speed. and surprise you when is coming ring the door the postman.. yeahh puerh puerh puerh cake bricks .yuk yuk yuk yuk beautiful. so courious about it :D
