If people are going to use gendered terms for clergy, they need to use those terms for ALL clergy, i.e. our church has a male pastor. Female clergy/clergy women is still a "less than" comment as it is then supposed that the standard is male/clergy man. It's like saying I go to a woman doctor and have a male nurse. I am a clergy person, a member of the clergy. A doctor is a doctor, a nurse is a nurse, a pastor is a pastor.
I will tell you this, as laity. When we did have a Senior Pastor who was female, when I described things my Pastor was teaching about to outside the church friends, it was ALWAYS "The Pastor at my church said...." And they would respond how they would, which would typically be in conversation, so I would continue " yes, she also said......" And it always worked very nicely. Love all you Pastors, we need to pray for you all more. ❤️🙏🏽❤️
Jesus went to Mary Magdalene first, what does that tell you?! Jesus wanted women recognized for their role as witnesses, as apostles, and ministers. Please respect us as equals. Jesus did.
