i can’t believe i’m graduating next month!! since the beginning, even before getting into a program, i’ve been watching all your vids, and now i’m so close to becoming a sonographer 🥹 searching and applying for jobs makes me so anxious but i can’t wait to start working!!
Oh my god I’m so proud of you! I can’t believe it’s already here. Thank you for taking me along on your journey, you are going to be an amazing Sonographer 🎉❤
I am actually a RN who is wanting to go back to school for sonography. The program i am going to has 3 separate tracks - vascular, general, and echo. I’m torn because i think i would enjoy scanning a variety & maybe be more marketable? But at the same time I am very interested in Echo - especially pediatric and fetal echo. Any advice for someone who is already a healthcare worker transitioning into this field? I have ‘heard’ that echo also pays more (depending on area of course) is this accurate?
You can always find a program that offers all!! Or you can go into general/vascular or echo/vascular and go back into learning the other (with a certificate program) or cross train. It is possible to do everything! Use CAAHEP.org to find a program near you for all of them! Since this program already offers all three you can ask what it could take to do all of them ❤
This might sound like a rant but I’m hoping to get some advice as a student who’s majoring in diagnostic ultrasound. When you apply for the program you have to choose a pathway: vascular, general, and cardiac. How do they expect us to choose right off the bat like that? Idek what I like, I haven’t even learned about it yet. I can’t imagine myself scanning something all day yet. Any advice on how to choose😭?
Hi! This is a good topic. There have been a few videos on my channel discussing it! Typically you can shadow or do some research into each field! If you like one thing only, the heart/ cardiac is the way to go. If you want variety - general is the way to go. Vascular by itself is rare but usually it’ll be attached to an echo or general program!
Hi, I saw in some of your old videos that you took and passed (🎉) your pediatrics board. I’m going to take mine soon but I’m struggling with all the informations and not retaining much. Any advice? Or tips? It’s really hard to find information about this board 😅
Yes!! I have a video on this (taking exams) but know a lot of your anatomy and pathology. A LOT on the baby brain and specifics of each organ/ area for the peds! Know the differences between neonatal & pediatric stuff. Marilyn Siegel’s book is your go to!
