"...I would say probably 95 percent, maybe 98 percent of human beings, you know, there's often parts of themselves that they're very disconnected from, that they're in isolation, that they're very pushed aside. And often one of the main reasons they're involved in spirituality is so they can transcend those parts and never have anything to do with them and feel really free and enlightened anyway. While it is true that you can transcend all that, you can go right beyond it, you don't have to be identified - it doesn't define you, it's not who or what you are, and all that's true, and you can have everything in general until those aspects of your being that feel disconnected get reconnected, and it's just a reconnectedness through you're no longer actually pushing them out, you're no longer being estranged from them. You're just sort of turning back to them. You're just turning back towards them. That's what compassion is...Nothing gets left behind. Nothing. Maybe temporarily, but not ultimately. Nobody actually gets the option of leaving any piece of themselves, any part behind..." ~ Adyashanti, excerpted from a talk before 2012

“I’ve probably spent $9 million or something trying to get sober,” Matthew Perry said in an interview about a year ago...not sure how much more he spent on therapy...wondering if it might have been a different result if he had taken the course referred below, which is a feedback from a participant of one of Adyashanti's online course "The Way of Liberating Insight": Participant: I have been struggling to understand how I play the victim role in my emotional life. I couldn’t see it. I would have folks say to me, “Stop playing the victim,” but I just couldn’t grasp what they were trying to tell me. And tonight, “poof,” there it was! Your teaching was crystal clear. My heart deeply thanks you for this gift. Both of my parents were active alcoholics and in great emotional pain. I’m 68 and have been working on recovery “only forever.” I constantly looked outside of myself for the magic healing potion. And now, in a little more than a few weeks, you helped me to taste for the very first time my own inner resource, and deeply experience a felt sense of abiding in only awareness and loving kindness. I am more than willing to step up to the plate and take emotional responsibility for my life, because finally someone has taught me the way. Adyashanti: I am so very happy to read of your discovering the inner resource of awareness and loving kindness within yourself. To realize that there is no “magic healing potion” outside of oneself is really the doorway that we all must pass through in order to begin to awaken to our higher potential, sovereignty, and well-being. We can hear it a thousand times, but the moment we truly stop looking for someone or something outside of ourselves to save us, we immediately begin to evoke our own inner resources of freedom and well-being. And we can only truly turn within when we relinquish any victim identity that we cling to. While it’s true that many people have been victimized at some point in their lives, it is also true that to form an identity around being a victim not only paralyzes one’s emotional growth, it also turns a painful episode of one’s life into a fixed and disempowered identity. No matter what identity we cling to, it takes great courage to step out of the old masks we wear and the old scripts that we live by, and open ourselves to the mysterious inner core of our being. You have taken that step. Now just walk on, into the mystery of your being. ~ Adyashanti“ The Way of Liberating Insight” Audio Course (2015) link to the course: adyashanti.opengatesangha.org/store/media/audio-downloads/1068 List of the weekly exercises in this 4-month course: 1. Gathering up the wounded parts of ourselves and bringing them home. I have D.I.D and we in our D.I.D system are now seeing that even though there seemed to be a severe fragmentation in the psyche because of severe ongoing trauma and abuse from birth on, something has held it all, it never came and it never left. It has always been like an open door, a unified light holding it all simultaneously, always whole and complete, no judgement, only compassion and acceptance. At the human level we are still going through a healing process of integration of the psyche and it knows what it is doing, we trust the process and each other more and more every day. I had an NDE where it was pure BEING. It was clear that all religions are man made projections of the ego, there were no separate god/s from any religion waiting to hand out rewards or punishments. There was zero judgement, just unconditional Love, compassion, welcome and total acceptance. There was no hell or heaven as in places we go. Hell was more a state of confusion or lack of clarity, a sense of separation. Heaven was more a state of clarity, no sense of separation or confusion. In the NDE, there was a wonderment of how something so obvious could have been so completely forgotten. Before "coming back" there was a question that I felt as it was not in words. If it were in words it went something like "Can you, while human, receive everything in the same way you are being received right now? I didn't know but I was willing to find out.
